In this sequel the detective is rescued from the jump into the ocean from the Ravenhearst blast and taken to a hospital. They remove the strange shard embedded in his wrist and you guessed it, somehow Dalimar's psych gets transferred into the Detective. Like the guy in the last game he has these weird episodes of recalls of his last encounter that he has no real memory of, like drawings and such. So they put him in an insane asylum and he ends up in Dalimar's old cell. The story evolves from there.
The game plays much the same way. You have a jump map. The easter eggs are lighthouse towers to find. And just like in the last game there is a indicator to tell you that one is there to find. And it won't be right off in where you enter the area. No morphing objects anywhere. No log book which is a shame for a clue resource. The background music and environmental sounds are less disturbing and more sublime, orchestra based.
It has 1 arcade game puzzle that I detested so I skipped out of it after 1 try. Would work if I could slow it down. Another door master puzzle didn't have any clues on some of the embedded puzzles or poor clues. There were puzzles that had no clues and you either just had to do trial and error or bail out to the guide. In the hops you have puzzles within puzzles as before. 1 puzzle was just too difficult for me, another the solutions just didn't make sense.
You can replay hops and puzzles in extra section. In some hops objects are too well hidden for the graphic resolution which is fuzzy. As in the last game series you have a souvenir section in extras where you go to various scenes to get the souvenirs.
I would recommend this game except for the objections of the previous sequels. But I can't say don't try the game. From the ending it seems it terminates the series from Dalimar's return.

In this game it's up to date with the rest of the adventure games as to interface. You have a full guide and a 'jump' map to help you. Graphics are clear enough to make out objects better in the hidden puzzle games. But you don't have a log book. Most puzzles are solvable, but some have no real hint as to how to solve them. The music is relaxing, not scary.
Remember the intricate door puzzles of the last 3 games, you will encounter similar puzzles in this game. They are easier then the last game but still very cryptic. The clues are hidden on the puzzle, you just need some abstract logic to solve them without the guide. 1 or 2 puzzles are very cryptic and tedious, I skipped those. Another is stupid and I just had to fool around to solve it.
Toward the end 1 door puzzle claimed the solution to one part was embedded in the puzzle interface but I could not find it. If it was there it was not obvious. The end solution was cryptic and there where no real clues as to the sequence. Just had to fool around or bail out on the guide.
You have 2 Easter eggs. 1 is red eyed ravens in each scene, the raven icon in the bottom middle lets you know if they are present. The other is morphing objects in the puzzles games. A morphing indicator will let you know if the puzzles have those objects, sometimes the morphing object is hard to detect.
In the extras section you can replay the hops and puzzles and find morphing objects you missed. Some of the ravens are very well hidden and hard to see. The guide shows where they are but not the morphing objects.
At the end of the game there is a souvenir room in extras where you can find them throughout the game.

This is 2x worse then the previous sequel. In this version you will learn about the past life of Charles and what drove him mad. The game has some really gross, disturbing stuff. The graphics are above medium. The music appropriate with a lot of disturbing background sounds.
The guide is basically a picture reference with labels and sometimes hard to follow. You have no map guide. The interface is more of the modern style games of Bigfish. Instead of hidden objects in this one you will have to find morphing objects in the sparkle areas.
The log is not very useful for helping to get clues on how to proceed. Often I would get lost on how to proceed so I was forced to refer to the guide. Some puzzles and things just didn't make sense.
There are no easter eggs nor extra items in the sequel, no bonus game. If you are up to a cryptic puzzle game then this one will really challenge you. To me it was a long, tedious, drawn out trial. And the game would often crash and have memory problems.
Play at your own risk.

This is a very difficult game. It's an upgrade from the last original version to a more modern graphical interface as you now go from scene to scene picking up items and solving all the hidden object games of which there are quite a few. You have the animation and vocals added. The graphics are above medium range but not at the modern level.
Half of the puzzles are doable and the other half are brain bogglers. And when you run across any note or scenes with graphical numbers or icons, make note of them, you will need them to solve puzzles further in the game. Toward the end, 1 or 2 puzzles really get difficult. And the strategy guide is a separate purchased item.
What makes the game difficult is you don't have a map and you will find yourself going all over the place searching for items needed, especially at the end. And finding the hidden objects is a tiresome endeavor as many of the items are tiny and well hidden. Some are camouflaged with the background color where the reside instead of their natural colors. The graphics are that very sharp either.
As with the last game there are some things of the story line you are left hanging about. The music is barely decent as it's mostly standard orchestra, boring in some respects.
If you liked the puzzles of the last version you'll like the puzzles of this version even more. Some are quite cryptic. No easter eggs in this game. No extra.

This game reminds me of a Inca game of the same type formate, I can't recall the title:
This is the first of the Ravenhearst series. The story line does not tell the whole story of why Dalimar did what he did, it's just in a first person perspective, some things are just left to the imagination. I was disappointed in that. You can find the narrative of the story on the web without buying this lame game unless your really into puzzles and this will give you a challenge for your moneys worth.
The game has no active scenes, just various wacky puzzle doors (very hard to solve and quite cryptic), followed by various hidden object find room levels. Once you find the required objects you get to piece together a diary puzzle to find out the story line of the game.
The Graphics are medium which makes it hard to find objects. You have no hints in the end. You can blow past the door puzzles but make sure you use all the hints before you do or you'll loose them. Each level starts out with 5 hints to use.
There are no extras in the game, you can't go and play the puzzles later as there is no extra. There are no easter eggs. It's kind of a boring game with 65% hidden objects tasks. The door puzzles are more intriguing.

Much like the last version in graphics and feature and music. The only thing different is there are no easter eggs in the bonus games per level. You just have the hidden puzzle pieces for the picture in each island section to assemble. The pieces can be hidden under bushes or other things.
You can play in untimed casual for all levels including bonus levels. However you won't get to assemble the picture paper castle unless you in timed mode. I completed each timed level and some were nail bitters. The guide is now in an interactive mode where you have to follow the arrows on where to go next. This can be cumbersome as it sometimes is hard to follow the arrowed steps. I just got a hint and ad-libbed on some hard levels. It can get confusing on some levels.
I recommend this game!

This game has the same graphical format as The 13th Skull and as in the game you will be going all over the place looking for stuff. and although most of it makes sense there are some applications that don't. Most of the puzzles are readily solvable but some will have you scratching your head raw, especially at the end.
As in the 13th Skull finding hidden objects tries your patience as the graphics are medium in sharpness and many objects have the same background color then they should have.
The easter eggs are morphing objects. Many are easy to find, 30% are not. Some places will have 2 while other places will have none. Besides the guide, toward the end you will come across a map that shows how many and where they are located.
A very challenging game.
I recommend this game!

Graphics are good comparable with the other adventure type games. Most puzzles are solvable except there was 1 that had no clue on how to go about solving it, had to use the guide.
Finding some things were very challenging, sneaky to advance the game. The easter eggs are glyphs in the main scenes and morphing objects in the hidden puzzle games. If you can't find them during the game you can go to the extra section and play the games there and look for them, the guide won't tell you.
I recommend this game!

Graphics are good- comparable with the other adventure type games. Most puzzles are solvable with out the guide but there are 3 that are tough and tried my patience. I had to use the guide.
The hidden object games have puzzles embedded within them. There are easter eggs to find in the form of eggs. Some are hidden quite well.
In the extra section you have a comic book game of finding objects and placing them in their proper areas. Challenging.
It's an OK adventure game, unusual in some respects.
I recommend this game!

It has graphics that are par with many other top notch adventure series although somewhat dark. The music somewhat fits the game. Often the graphics are murky for hidden objects and while some are clebberly concealed.
The story line is a sequel from a previous game- 13th Skull, it has some twists.
There are 2 easter eggs to find with indicators.
Most puzzles are logically solved but some are illogical, you may have to resort to the guide. One memory puzzle just got too much for me. Sometimes I had to go to the map to figure out where to go next I was moving around all over the game trying to find and apply items.
After you finish the main and bonus games you can replay all the hops and puzzles in extras.
I hated the end, it left me kind of hanging. How did they make it to shore? Did all the crew die?
I recommend this game!
