Wait, did I just say "voiceovers?" That which I immediately disable in any/all game/s? Yep, not that they're fabulous so much as they're at times highly amusing and full of feeling. That bracelet skeleton is a hoot!
Storyline is a little muddled but the mission is to obtain an amulet from each sad camper entrapped by a malevolent witch (who is beautiful, btw) and become grotesquely distorted as a result. Each world of entrapment is only attainable if you hand over a bracelet and move the staircase over.
Graphics are dated but still OK on Windows 10. Sometimes, things got challenging and complicated and even for a seasoned player, that HINT button can be a boon. You can adjust the music and sound, plus toggle your pointer. Mini games for me ranged from very easy to so difficult, I used the SKIP button. HOPs are OK overall, from seek and find to replace the missing objects in the scenes.
Nine years or so later, and it amuses and mostly entertains me. Now, I'll see about the others in the series.
I recommend this game!

Well, my concern with the 12th installment was: "well, after 8 1/2 years of Herc, is this gonna be it?" Answer: obviously not! Yay! If the formula works, stick with it!
Same format and standard resources, which is comfortable and familiar and can help you get gold time. Choosing "expert" mode has that "developer's record" feature I always aim to beat, and occasionally even make. There are 2 other modes as well. You can turn off hints, music and sound, switch to your system pointer and disable screen shaking.
Graphics are a bit more imaginative this time versus the last one, and are always a visual pleasure while playing. Feel free to click on anything, a key or bush or whatever, as this not only adds to your score but can uncover a puzzle piece to unlock bonus levels. It's also amusing to shoot the lambs and turtles right into the sky.
Cool game as usual. Did Herc get a face-lift or something?
I recommend this game!

True, a lot carried over from the first one to this one, but it just feels fresher. Levels up to about 50 are pretty easy, and you can indulge in your purchased boosters to your heart's content. Until you get to about level 70. Then things get challenging.
Graphics are nice, and the 3D village (which you build one by one with your gold) and hidden object scenes are really cute and appealing. Many of the upper levels (to 100) are outstanding--challenging and interesting with changeable boards, so that you hopefully won't mind replaying most of them.
Good game. And the 3D dragon in the opening scene is a cutie!
I recommend this game!

My first thought: OK, same ol' witchcraft, wizardry type of stuff. Big simple tiles and a few twists on old match three. And yes, that was pretty much it...until you got to level 67. And beyond.
Try playing without any boosters (single tile removal, whirlwind re-arrange, etc). And these upper level were so much fun, I didn't mind replaying at all. Multiple times! The village didn't look so hot when I was finished, and overall, the graphics were just OK. But I liked the game. And would play it again sometime.
I recommend this game!

My gold standard for this series remains the 6th one--the wonderfully challenging one where the St. Bernards made their debut. Since then, more and more details got added, and more otherworldly goofy stuff made the scenes. Minor changes to the base storyline help keep things interesting.
Classic resource management, but you need to use your noggin from the first level onward. Three modes: relaxed, easy and hard. You can disable hints, music, sound and skip dialogs. CE includes concept art and a Strategy Guide. There is a Store for boosts where you can spend your coins but spoiler alert: it was never as needed before as it is now, right after the first level--to boost your worker speed. I'd use it if running hard mode!!
Sharp, crystal clear graphics, running on Windows 10. Good stuff.
I recommend this game!

I played this older game on a trial years ago. I never did purchase it but I never quite forgot about it either. There's something compelling about chasing someone through dreams and the story line on the surface is very good. So when I found this game again, I snagged it.
Very basically, a little girl falls into a coma and her distraught mother relies on a seemingly sympathetic medical doctor to transport her to the girl's nightmare prison.
Routine hidden objects are nicely interspersed with decent mini games. Graphics are good but a little too dark, too often. The creepers get a little annoying after a while with their snarky sniggers, almost to where I wanted to turn the sound off. At times I needed hints as following from one world to the next got pretty challenging
I found this game isn't compatible with Windows 11. So, I'll enjoy it when I can. Not bad at all.
I recommend this game!

As someone who's done a number of Alice video walkthroughs, Hard mode can frequently mean "impossible or pretty close to." Here: there's at times not as great a time-gap between Normal and Hard Modes as in previous installments but I wish 3 stars was either more challenging in Normal mode or less so in Hard mode.
I don't particularly like all the updated sound effects here, nor do I like the lingering red and green hint rings. Can we do a "hover" next time, please? Some of the tasks Alice and the workers used to do got switched around here just so you know. Bonuses have changed also. Instead of a cup, you look for a pocket watch, along with the paint palettes which pop in and out.
Graphics are a little harsh when there's a light-colored background and very good when it's darker.
It seems the spirit and good cheer found with the prior Alice games is a little dampened here. Still, it's a good game and many of the bones of the previous are still there. For me, worth it on a sale.
I recommend this game!

I used to like this series...a lot. Each puzzle had held interest, even five and six times later. Until now.
Don't get me wrong, this series has a winning formula and it would be foolish to deviate very far from it. But all the puzzles are pretty much the same from the last five or six installments. The hidden object scenes, which are refreshed to be fair, are nicely rendered--static with small animations here and there but wow, some of the mini-scenes stayed up just a little too long, trying to find extra items. Every other hidden creature seemed to be a frog. Every other trash item seemed to be a bottle. No Hints or Mega Hints for me in the demo levels, that's how easy it was. Muzak was an innocuous country-style.
Maybe I just got tired of this. It happens sometimes. There's always Cruise Director, right?

Nice to see another older series get refreshed and modernized. This is combining various familiar elements (characters, many resources and structures) with new tasks, challenges and surroundings. This is a resource management game, where you can either play untimed or via two timed modes. If you want to change your mode, though, (like I just might) it'll take you back to Level 1.
Playing in Hard mode, level two was already giving me, um, challenges. Graphics are richly colored and detailed and that juicy noise made when collecting resources is comfortably familiar. Knowing there was a hidden owl (the dev's trademark), I couldn't find it on the earliest levels but it seems it's there on later ones. Great, more ways to waste your already precious time looking for it.
You can disable tutorial, music, sounds and use your pointer. CE offers you the strategy guide, wallpapers and the bonus chapter with extra levels, among other things.
Good, another solid and challenging RM game although Hard mode may be a little too much starting out. Thanks for the new game!
I recommend this game!

Yet another mystical realm to discover and tame. This series has been refreshed yet again, with larger resources, new apparel (yep no more burgundy tunics--so last century) and different tasks. Resource management and strategy game which you can play untimed (relaxed) or via three timed modes. Each scene is lavishly detailed, with hidden objects here and there--and now they're displayed on the side so you can keep track of them more easily. Don't be lulled into complacency by the easy-peasy early levels; things will get tougher.
Graphics are so lovely, you almost wish you could dive into the screen and be a part of it all. If you click on various critters in the scene, they'll make noises--the owl is a hoot!
You can adjust sounds, music, switch to your pointer and disable tutorial. There are still a lot of familiar elements so that you're not too lost starting out.
Since I was informed earlier this year by the publisher that there are no immediate plans to develop the third season of Roman Adventures: Britons, this lovely game definitely takes the sting out of that. Have fun with this one, I know I am.
I recommend this game!
