I'll head this review off with the fact that this isn't an issue with my computer, it's an issue within the game.
There has been no update released to fix the fact that, at least on Mac, the checkers-like puzzle in the demo has no gear to enable me to complete it. When I have the 2 pieces required to start the puzzle, I can't do anything in that closeup scene. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, tried restarting the game as a whole, tried resetting/restarting within the game itself. Nothing works.
It's such a shame because it's a very attractive game, fun, and I wanted to buy it. So before you purchase, make sure that puzzle works! Judging by other reviews, it should be fine on PC.
I don't recommend this game.

In the beginning of the game, it says to keep the tutorial on because the game is "experimental," but there's nothing remotely new or experimental about it. It's the most basic HOP game.
I wouldn't mind that, except you find so few items per scene and return to each scene multiple times. You find a lot of the same items too. Even if I was a beginner, I would be bored.
Friendly Fox could do a lot better with this game, even keeping it as a simple HOP. Vary the scenes more, even if we have to return to them (don't have us return so many times so close together), and give us a lot more things to find and different each time. Even back in 2012, a basic HOP had to be a lot better than this. It's a shame because the concept is good and the art isn't bad either.
I don't recommend this game.

This is one of those HOP games where they cheap out and want you to play each level 5 times. 5 is a lot for the same exact location! Especially when the settings are pretty boring and very dull.
The items are easy to find, there are too few in the beginning, and there is no creativity to be found.
The one thing I'll give this game is that it actually played music throughout, unlike so many these days. But the music was always the same, therefore also very boring. The music itself was repetitive, and then it was repeated over and over in every level. Ugh.
Don't waste your money.
I don't recommend this game.

Outstanding new addition to Mystery Case Files! The plot is very good, with intriguing twists and turns and unique problems.
The graphics are very well done, and the main game and bonus game provide totally different locales to explore. That makes it even more fun in my opinion.
The music is spot on - that's something I've been finding lacking in a lot of games lately, but this one has good music that suits in all the right places.
The HOPs and puzzles can be challenging.
The collector's items are Watchers that morph in overall scenes as well as puzzles pieces in closeup scenes. Sometimes they're very easy, sometimes tricky.
Recommend!

This game isn't just old-school, it's poorly made and boring.
Each scene has random stuff lying around that doesn't make any sense. While usually you can accept that there will be some items that wouldn't be in this place or that, or that don't make any sense, this is just a bunch of lifeless, flat objects thrown around. They're too easy to find and very dull, as is the setting, unfortunately. I was very much looking forward to the casino setting, which is a little different from what's typically offered by HOP or HOPA games. But they took something exciting and vibrant and made it very dull.
There is no music in the levels themselves. Outside of that, it's a bit strange.
Of course there is no voice talent used, as to be expected in this type of game.
Not worth paying for.
I don't recommend this game.

This game is far too easy, with pairs right next to each other, even in triple sometimes. Animal figures apparently include insects! Sometimes they throw in a few new items, but overall, they're the same thing over and over again.
The graphics are clearly AI, and while they can be pretty, some things are also very bizarre.
The music is also clearly AI as it makes no sense whatsoever and is weird.
I don't recommend this game. It's a cheap ripoff of the real Clutter games and is boring.

I miss this kind of game so much. This is a game that doesn't handhold. There are still instructions on the puzzles, but they're very basic and visual, so you still need to figure it out for yourself. The whole game is one big HOP with mini puzzles along the way, not outweighing the HOPs like they often do now.
The art is beautifully done and unique. The world this developer created is truly amazing, with lots of thought clearly put into it. The artists' work is highly impressive and immersive.
The story behind the animal-world illustrations is of a young brother who desperately wants to help his younger sister heal from a severe illness. After each stage or "level" of playing in the imaginary world, helping brother Rabbit get his sister to a location where she can be healed, they show what's happening in the real world. It's beautiful and clever.
I know I'll play this game again in the future. I was disappointed when it ended, not because it was too short but because it was so very good! Truly enjoyable in every way a game can be.
Highly recommend.

The games from DO as of late have been very boring, only made worse by barely any music and worse still with sloppy AI graphics. Some items in the scene don't make any sense at all. The same for the actions: I have to drive a car that I connected to the door in order to open it, and we drive *toward* the hotel instead of away from it? Come on.
I was bored out of my mind, with almost no HOPs in this HOP game, when I came to the first HOP...that has no list of items to find.
DO is throwing games together at this point, and for some reason Big Fish is still publishing them, even when the HOP is literally unplayable without the list of items to find.
Get it together. This is really beyond embarrassing at this point.
I don't recommend this game.
Stop a vicious cult and save the city from ancient horrors!

I won't play a game with AI slop in it, but especially not one where effort wasn't even put in to fixing the AI slop.
There's a poster where the AI spelled it "Grece" and Domini was too lazy to fix it properly, so they stuck in an "e" at an awkward angle above the word while the rest of the letters are equally spaced. There's a taco with whole tomatoes and lemon wedges in it. There's all kinds of weird nonsense going on in this game, and I'm so disappointed.
The music is like funeral music, very strange.
Don't recommend. Buy from developers who care more about cohesive art that works together and is at least up to standard.

I'm on a Mac, but the other person who had major issues with gameplay has a PC.
From the main screen, clicking didn't work for a straight 30 seconds+, which is a pretty long time for nothing to work.
Once it finally started working for some unknown reason, the puzzles themselves were fun and, after a number of levels, challenging. (I made it to level 19 before the glitches overwhelmed the game.) I definitely enjoyed it and was interested in purchasing, but there are too many glitches. Flashing of the text on the screen, Menu button doesn't work at all, Settings menu is unclear and weird without many options and especially without the options most other games have.
It's disappointing because I do like the game a lot. I don't even know how it got through Big Fish's testing with so many issues.
