I have all this series and each time I think I will just play the demo and see if there are any differences but not buy and then something appeals to me and it's another buy.
I have played about 3 hours of this game now and it just keeps giving.
The demo gives you a fair idea about the game but it just keeps producing.
Little things like bonus tiles changing half way through a level and the fact that if you still have charged bonuses at the end of a level they carry on to the next level,
Not a great lover of the mini games but you can skip them after 30 seconds.
A lot of games become boring and nothing changes further in but not this one it really does get better and better.
2 match 3's in a row, 2 entirely different games , enjoyed both but this is my favorite. Shush, don;t tell anyone.
As usual try the demo but believe me it just keeps producing the goods. Enjoy, I know I will

This is the sort of game that some will love and some will hate .
I did not like the previous game but the mechanics have improved on this and it takes a bit of time to get into the workings of this game.
You can play on timed or not and easy, normal or hard.
For me I am on easy and untimed for the moment as I needed to get into the ins and outs of this game.
Be very aware of the pests that pop up. You need to avoid making matches of 3 or more either vertically or horizontally either side of the pest otherwise you will get cobwebs, ice , thorns etc to hinder you.
I found it a great challenge to complete a level without setting anything off and have now accomplished this a few times but you need to take your time to achieve this, well I do anyway.
There are several reasons I only gave this a 4 star rating.
There are only 64 levels which I feel is not enough for a match 3 game. You can not repeat a level you have to keep going Some of the tiles are very alike, a pick axe and a shovel are difficult to tell the difference if you are going for speed.
The first few levels do not really give you the full potential of this game and as has already been said play the demo to the end. It is not a speedy game and not going to give you masses of bonuses etc but for me I like something a bit different.
Try the demo and see what you think. I am taking my time with this to avoid setting off the traps and have already got 3 user names on the go. I just wish you could replay levels.

This is not an easy, flowing game to play at all. Each time you make a move there is an awful clunking sound as if someone is dropping a metal plate on the floor.
Then we had branches , axes and pick axes that all looked very samey and it really was hard to tell them apart..
You had to wait for all the pieces to fall before you could carry on.
Not much more to say about this. Not impressed folks
Well, where do I start? The first thing we are told is the detective wants to get to know you better later so you are on a promise from the word go.
Then we get 2 scenes of being told where to go with no way of turning this off. The dialogue is so bad that it is the most fun part of this game. It is so easy and the way they put the clues together I am so glad that they are not local cops from where I live.
Settings are virtually non existence, graphics bad, you go over the same hidden object scene finding very few items then you have to remove every single item from a trash can one by one until you find the hotel key which of course is the last item.
The one thing That should have been in the trash can was this game.
I found it confusing that her daughter was kidnapped in the same SUV and as far as I am aware she never got her back ? Unless that is revealed later in the game but I cannot endure any more of this.
As I say the best part is the laughs caused by the bad dialect.

When I first reviewed this game in the CE version they did not tell you how many levels were in the main game only that there were 80 bonus levels.
In this SE version they tell you there are 200 levels in the main game.
I am well in to the CE version now but still no where near completing the main game, in fact at level 120.
It becomes increasingly difficult to clear the pack and becomes a real challenge , choose your bonuses wisely.
It is a great game to do a few levels then come back at a later time to carry on. Be aware although you have 3 levels Easy, casual and timed, you can not switch between levels in the same game you have to start at the beginning on each mode so it is like 3 separate games, I would much rather have preferred if you could change modes in one game like you can do with other games.
Although I purchased the CE this game is just as good and I would have waited for this one had I not been so eager to carry on with it. I doubt I will ever get to the bonus levels not with all the other games that keep coming out.
Be prepared further on for many attempts to clear the pack , however you do have the option to continue without clearing the level. Enjoy

This could have been so much better but the execution is all over the place. This has challenge. I only managed to get through 5 levels before my time ran out as it was so confusing, well for me any way. Warning , although there is a strategy guide you can not access this in the middle of a level. It is only a numbered guide any way so not that much of a help. I may be wrong here but could not see any way to access this from the game.
If you turn the tutorial off you then get a help button. Do NOT press the help button in the middle of a level as it takes you straight back to the beginning of the level and you have to start all over again. It does not take you to the strategy guide.
This could have been so much better, it just seems to have been put together with not much thought but the makings of a good game are there. You get 2 workers houses and 2 of everything else very early in this game which just adds to the jumble of this game. The first level took me almost 8 minutes to complete and the poor guy has to run miles to get anything done.
There is challenge even in the early levels but I am not prepared to buy this.
Is this worth a CE price? I think you can work out my answer there. I am being generous with my 2 as it did show potential but boy does it need refining.
Only my opinion and you may like it so try the demo and see for yourself.

And now we have the 9th episode in this saga and we get some freezing cold scenery. The game is virtually identical apart from a little silver ball that if you hit it shoots off around the board knocking out a few tiles.
Apart from that there is no difference. At least it's not a CE so that's one good thing. Sorry for being so negative , but honestly.
Not on my Christmas list I'm afraid. If this is your first game of this series then it may be ok for you but it would be great if they gave us something to be happy about. I will pass on this one but try the demo and see what you think.

Having read another review that there are no difficulty modes I would just like to point out there are. Hard normal and relaxed. This is not as easy as the first few levels would have you believe.
To start, yes you do seem to be waiting for the barrels to refill but this game becomes very challenging even on relaxed and several times I used the wrong resources and had to restart the level. There are the usual resource collections but then there are other differences that for me made this game worth buying. I love the way the workers walk up the stairs . made me laugh. There are better games out there but this made me give an extra star for not being a CE.
So nice to see a standard TM game. As per usual some will like this and some will not but for me I think it is a good effort. Try the demo bearing in mind that it does get more interesting
No idea how many levels in this but as it is not a CE it does not really matter but do wish developers would give this sort of info out.

I was excited when I first saw this game but then after 3 0r 4 levels I was a bit disappointed, No sheriff of Nottingham .I used to love shooting arrows at him.
So I then thought this is very samey to the original game without the sheriff. I persevered and so glad I did as suddenly it changes, gets much more of a challenge.
It changes at level 9 and then becomes such great fun and what a challenge. Others will be able to tell you more of an insight to the game.
The problem is the first 8 levels are very alike the original so that is most of your demo time. I would strongly advise you to start on the relaxed level to get as far in to this game as you can.
I am now at level 14 and loving it but could have just given up early. as to is it worth a CE . Usual debate here. There are 9 bonus levels and 45 normal levels. A strategy guide and the usual stuff I am not a fan of , wallpapers etc.
I have bought this for the simple reason I can't wait till the SE arrives.
This developer always updates games and at first you would think they have let us down but in my opinion they have not.
This is a challenge even on relaxed and of course try the demo but just take heed of what I am saying here.

Before this game came out I decided to replay the previous game so that I could see better the changes if any.
The first thing you notice straight away is the graphics, these are not up to the standards of the previous game.
I sometimes found it not as smooth running having to click on some items more than once. I find this game easier than previous games , some will like it that way, some will not. As for the puzzles, for me being a puzzle geek I found them too easy and not what we would expect from this series.
Having said that, it is not easy for a new Dev to take over from a series that everyone has very high expectations of and admire them for that.. Sometimes the same Dev's change formats to games to improve them and they don't work , but here we have a different Dev trying to uphold a wonderful series. I feel what seriously let them down is their handling of the Rube Goldberg Door Puzzles. A bit more research here is needed . Try the demo scene for which you should be able to complete in the time allowed and see what you think. As I am always saying we are all different and some will like this, some will not. for me it is middle of the road.
