I have always been a huge fan of MCF. Ever since the brand changed companies, though, the game quality has taken a dive. They are not intuitive. I end up using the strategy guide throughout the entire game because I don't have a clue what I am supposed to do next. The stories don't make sense. And also, I don't care for the little "pet" that helps you out. I can see doing this in one game, but there is one in every game now. It's repetitive.
I don't think I will be buying anymore MCF games unless perhaps the original company will (please?!) develop the games.
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.
Ok, the good. The graphics were great, performed without any problems on my Vista 64-bit machine. The plot was extremely well thought out. I mean, it was a solid plot.
I did *not* like the morphing objects. I just want plain old hidden object scenes, not where every hidden object morphs. I *do* like the challenge of finding the scattered easter egg type morphing objects, in order to open a bonus scene. I was disappointed in how they designed this part of the game. It wasn't fun.
I found the subject matter too disturbing for my taste. Yes, there was a disclaimer, but never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined this. Some of the scenes turned my stomach. We have come a far way from MCF Prime suspects. This game was more stressful than fun honestly.
I am sorry to say that for the next MCF game, I will read reviews before buying.
