This game was amazing and definitely one-of-a-kind. It is 1891 and you are investigating the disappearance of your parental units with the help of Sprocket - your adorable clockwork companion. He has some very interesting features including an Object Locator, Progressive Hint(which gives you a nudge instead of the solution) and an Object Database showing you an image of the object that you need to locate. The objects were all true to the time period and historically accurate.
The map gives instant clickable locations so no traveling between scenes. It also gives icons for HOS,Puzzles and Interactions to Perform. The scenes are beautiful and have amazing depth...I'm not even sure how to say that correctly. Some of the objects are BAM in your face and others are flat against a distant wall. The scenes that I encountered were either scrollable or zoomable which was also something that I've never seen before.
The artwork is beautiful. I usually don't enjoy non-moving cartoonish graphics were these were an exception. The voice-overs are wonderful and Sprocket's noises were adorable.
I bought this ahead of other games on my wish list. I liked it that much. :)
Forget those long-winded stories and dive right into the HO scenes you love! 100% Hidden Objects gives you complete control over your gaming experience.
There was ALOT to do in this game. They're not kidding. It's 100% HOS. First you choose a themed box. Then you progress through the scenes in the box. In each scene you have the potential to earn three golden stars. One is for finding a random object: the Star Item. The next is for entering frenzy mode by finding many objects quickly. The last is for completing the scene in expert time. There are coins to uncover that are used to purchase helpful tools. The achievement section boggles the mind, there are so many. You have the option of toggling between finding an object from a word list or finding an object from a picture.
Some of the objects were very hard to distinguish. I also ran into a few words that I didn't recognize. After figuring things out by trial and error, I ended up repeating the scenes a few times to earn my gold stars. You can turn the music WAY down if you're not hip to the smooth jazz.
This game could keep you busy for awhile if you're determined to fill all of the stars in all of the scenes and get all of the trophies. If you're at it for 3 hours straight you get the distinguished HARDCORE GAMER award. That's what I'm talking about. :P

This game is definitely worth its nautical salt. It had a ton of very creepy locations to explore, wonderful voice-overs and realistic ambient sounds. The brother is so tortured that he amused me and the storyline was just odd enough to keep my interest. The HOS that I encountered were easy but just interactive enough to balance things.
There are creatures, whalebones and achievements to collect. A bonus chapter, concept art and wallpapers are included with the CE.
My only complaint is that it kicked me out when I had reached a certain point in the game instead of at the hour mark. I had 20 minutes left man! No fair. :P
I recommend this game!

This game was a hoot. Nobody had to deal with Alex or any annoying music and personal introductions.
We ordered some pizza, opened a few bottles and made a party of it. I highly recommend combining people who have different subject strengths. Teamwork FTW !!
There are 15 achievements to earn and this could qualify as an educational tool as well. Score!

This will be my first Time Management game purchase. I've never found one that impressed me enough to play beyond the trial hour. This game was loads of fun. I think it was the discovering resources and secrets by smashing stuff that hooked me. Opening up new hidden territory is awesome as well. I was so entranced that the trial hour just went POOF! The fun music and sounds completed the experience. Explanations are complete and helpful and there are a bunch of rewards to earn. You are even work your way up through the different levels of gameplay. Good times!

The extras of this particular collector's edition include items that I haven't encountered before. Besides the basics of extra gameplay - music - screensavers - and wallpapers - there are Kisilova photos and interviews. It made me want to dig up more information.
Wikipedia reports: Kisiljevo (formerly Kisilova) is a village in north-east Serbia with 704 inhabitants and is mentioned extensively in the novel An Uncertain Place by Fred Vargas.
Besides the historical intrigue, I was very impressed with how the HOS objects seemed very true to scene and by the variety of puzzles that also fit the storyline very well.
I enjoy collecting steampunk-esque games and this is my new favorite. The story starts with the telling of a story and a mysterious capsule. The beautiful Victorian house from your childhood bedtime stories comes to life with the help of a clockwork firefly and your adventure has begun. Upon entering the code you've been given, a trap is activated which shuttles you many floors beneath ground level. You find a transmitter that allows you to communicate with Edwin Cogglethorpe, inventor extraordinaire himself. Is this guy still alive? He describes his lair as a "steam-powered house of clockwork, wonder and brass. It certainly is. Along the way you will reassemble his various creations, solve perplexing puzzles, search for hidden similar objects and dodge angry attack bots. This was a must-have for me. Good times.
A crow runs you off the road near a town that you've never even heard of. HELP US is scratched into the signpost. You go to a cabin in the woods, the owner of which appears to be a witch. You accept her hospitality. You wonder why you end up drugged with a kidnapped child....seriously dude? derp.
It wasn't MY cup of tea(ha HA see what I did there?) but I'd recommend it for a beginner.
