Such an unexpected pleasure to play this game. Great visuals and sound. Really loved the characters from the "thug" rats to the helpful purple bat? with the eyepatch. I really did like him. He is like the series of unusual stuffed toys that were around for a while. Also enjoyed the extra chapter. Try it for some holiday spirit and fun

Really interesting game. Maybe released at an unfortunate time because of the holidays. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed playing all of it including the extra chapter. Yes, it is a little on the easy side and I thought is was a little short. But given the alternative of struggling through an interminable never ending tome I have no complaint. Some of the acting was a little wooden at times. I recommend giving it a try and use the more difficult settings if you are bothered.
I recommend this game!

The game is visually beautiful. The colors are wonderful. Some of the puzzles were much easier than normal. The HO scenes were clear and items findable. Could have had a bit more challenge.
But...to start with I could not get it to open on my Mac and had to switch to a PC to play even though there is a Mac version. I am running High Sierra so everything should work ok. The music was nice but became way too repetitive to the point I took off the earphones.. Story line ok but you knew from the start that the girl would be the villain.
Overall it was not a bad game and was fun to play. It just seemed to be lacking something. The info cards which have always been fun seemed strangely organized and I could not tell which I had seen and at the end forgot about. I recommend it for the visuals if nothing else.
I recommend this game!

Review based on playing demo.
Like a lot of others I approached this with great reservations. But due to reviews and my experience that games that look like they might be simple are actually quite difficult and fun I decided to try it. So glad I did. Really really fun. Read the directions and know to click on the particular items to change the name. It is relaxing and upbeat. My only complaint would be the sound which was somewhat repetitive. Loved the various characters. Go for it!
I recommend this game!

I only recently came across this game and wonder where it has been all the time. Great fun. I personally found the sound track was nice to start with but kept repeating until I was tired of it. Not sure there is a story. But who cares. I had a wonderful time solving all the puzzles and finding everything. Had to have a little help but nothing serious. Really wish there were more like this. I was sorry when it ended.

I gave up trying to really like this game and an now just struggling to finish it. Overall not a bad game. Beautiful graphics. Boring music. I loved all the earlier HE games and bought this one without a preview. It did start out like the others so I figured it would probably be fine. But somewhere along the way it lost its way and became a Fantasy Game with Aztec princesses etc. and the gameplay was just run of the mill. I stopped just now when the villain managed to crumble the stone wall by pushing over one large bamboo pole. And like others I really miss the link to real history and archeology and the Fact Cards. There is no way to tell how much of this is authentic and how much just fantasy Aztec World so you walk away without learning even a small amount of information. I am not sure I would like the game more if it were my first HE. Probably not. It would then just be another game.I got the feeling that the developer is just tired of the research and work needed to make the game like the others. I would recommend waiting for the SE version.
I recommend this game!

Based on playing the demo-
The game has its own vibe and look. I find the location interesting in itself. Not something most of us have visited. I thought it started a little slowly with some HO scenes too early in the game for me. The story basically is that the character is going to look for his girl friend who is from Russia. You get the feeling that there may be more interesting things to come.
Visuals are good. A few things are a little difficult to see. The background music is nice but gets monotonous. My only complaint is technical. For some reason when I use my touchpad the screen vacillates between sizes a little when it is touched and it gets annoying. I have not tried a fix or a mouse yet. The pace moves along nicely after you get started and draws you in to see what will happen next.
I think it is different and worth trying. I had to bail on the last game looking for lanterns or whatever so this is refreshing.
I recommend this game!

I didn't plan to play so long! I knew as soon as I started that I was going to buy the game and I try to stop early in that case but I just could not hit the menu button. Great fun. Great story. I enjoyed the tech aspect of the game. HO scenes (which are not my favorite) were really fun and different. My only complaint was that each time I accomplished anything I got a pop up about I did it and then the next move. I always play a demo on easy and I think I can likely solve this by upping the level of difficulty.
I definitely recommend the game.

Based on playing the the trial.
I just started with no intention of continuing and the next thing I knew my hour was up while I was in the middle of a puzzle. The story is very fast paced and riveting. I am not a huge fan of HO scenes and could have done without some of them but they were reasonably interesting and varied. The puzzles were great fun. Not sure how the hero is going to extricate himself from his dilemma. This is the second recent game that I really enjoyed and found different and engaging and hope the trend keeps up.
I recommend this game!

Love this game. It is challenging, has varied puzzles, not too many HO scenes and they are varied. The graphics are excellent. I only played about 10 minutes and bought it. Like some other reviewers I am not taken with the family drama but it does not hurt the game. Voices are very good. I hope that this is the beginning of a new level of games and we will be seeing more or them. Many thanks to the developers.
I recommend this game!
