I guess I'm a majority of one who liked playing this new game. While it did have some challenges and I don't mean mini games, it wasn't bad at all. I have play way worse games. The biggest plus for this game... no ghosts, goblins or things that go bump in the night. MORE OF THESE PLEASE!!!
Graphics were very well done along with the colors in the scenes. Very pleasant. Music was okay and kind of light and not intrusive. Effects went along with the action. The only thing I didn't care for in this category was the voice overs. Ms Holmes was obviously pushing her parts. They seem... fake. The others were pretty good. I think if this series continues Elephant Games will improve on that.
Hidden objects were really good. Only problem were those blasted windows that pop open. I simply cannot see those tiny things, but other than that they were varied, clear and fun to do. The mini games ... not so much. I don't like them to begin with, but when I work to get them done just to find out I was doing them wrong is so frustrating. The instructions were just not clear for me. Thankfully I was playing the custom mode and the hint and skip buttons recharged quickly.
I did like the story. I did get lost a time or two, but by the end I was caught up in it. Others go into depth about the story so I'll not do that here. This series has a bright future when they get all the kinks worked out.
Try the demo for yourself. I did and that persuaded me to make the purchase.
The reason I bought this game, was not that it was an excellent game with outstanding quality, but simply because it wasn't a ghost story. As I look at all the offerings the overwhelming number are about spirits and this is a good old fashion murder mystery. My hope is that enough people purchase this game to sent a message to the developers that many of us are tired of the supernatural genre.
This game was fun to play and seem to be pretty long. I wish I had kept track of the time, but I didn't. It was long enough for me to play all afternoon on a hot Florida day.
Graphics were very well done and the effects went along with the action in the scene. There were some problems with the voice overs in that the sound didn't keep up with the lip movement, but other than that it was very good. The music wasn't intrusive and added to the action.
There seemed to be an over abundance of mini games. It may be because I do not like mini games, but it seemed like about every scene had one. There wasn't much new in the mini games. I think I've seen most all of them in some shape or form before. I played in the custom mode so the skip came up really fast. I did enjoy the varying hidden object games. There were all types and most were pretty challenging. I hate to admit it, but I had to use the hint a few times.
Others will go into the story in depth so I'll not bore you with mine. It was a good story. I love mysteries anyway and this one was one of the better I've seen in a long time. I hope all the developers take note and follow the lead of this one.
As always, play the demo. I think you will find you will like this game too.
WOW! I'm really impressed with this game. I've got the others and didn't think it possible to be better than those, but this is right up there with them. I totally enjoyed it.
Graphics were extremely well done. I think this is the best of the series. Realistic and easy on the eyes. I never have been a fan of the music, but it's not intrusive and we do have a way of turning it down. Voice overs were excellent as well.
The only complaint I have with this series are the hidden objects. Silhouettes are my least favorite of hidden object scenes and there seems to be a lot of them. There is list and interactive games as well, but the majority are silhouettes. I actually did most of the puzzles which is surprising. They were interesting to do... well most of them anyway. I played in the custom mode which made skip a lot quicker.
Others have gone into detail about the story line, so I'll not bore you with my rendition. Just suffice it to say I loved the story. Not a big fan of the supernatural, but this one seemed more like a mystery than the usual ghosts and goblins. My favorite character in this series is Will. Just wish he had come on-board a little earlier, but when he did it was at the right time.
As always, try the demo and see if this isn't to your liking. I sure enjoyed it.
I found this game to be pretty good and interesting. The game play was good and it killed a windy afternoon.
First the graphics. I have most all of these games and have played them over and over. The graphics in this one is not up to the same standards as those in previous games. They belong more in a cartoon in your Sunday paper than in a game. I liked the overall picture quality and the sound was very well done especially the voice overs. Richard sounded more like his old self although not quite as funny as in previous games.
Hidden objects were very well done and clear for the most part. Of course I didn't like the puzzles. Never do and probably never will. These were way past my patience level and some I just couldn't figure out what to do. I used the custom setting so I didn't have to wait long for the skip button to fill.
Others have gone into the story in depth so I won't. However, this is where I have a problem with this game. I got pretty lost in the story. It still stayed together, but for instance, in one scene Anna says this boy looks familiar and then all of a sudden, without any explanation I could see, he's her long lost nephew. It just didn't tie together and that is just one instance.
This is a good little game and I do recommend it. Don't take my word for it. Play the demo, it's pretty comprehensive for a change and will give you a good idea about what the game is like.
I have read and re-read the reviews and apparently I missed something wonderful in this game. I found it rather boring with much of the same stuff we have been getting forever in this genre.
Graphics were okay, but nothing to really write home about. The sound was excellent, including the music and voice overs. Colors were bright which was a plus for a change and the effects went along with the action in the scene.
I did enjoy the level of challenge even though there were a lot of mini games. It seems like the out numbered the hidden objects by a lot. I actually completed most of them. I played in the custom mode and had easy for the mini games which I'm sure helped in this quest. Hidden objects were fun and a little on the easy side also.
The story was pretty much the same thing. Save the world, save your brother destroy the tyrant. Sound familiar? it should.
Although I'm not buying this game, I do recommend it if you like this genre. It's just not for me.
I really enjoyed this game. It has a lot of differences from most games, especially NO ghosts, goblins, or things that go bump in the night. I wish the developers would get away from the mystical and go to the mysteries more.
The graphics are more toward the cartoon than an attempted realism, but they are well done. Effects and music, which was rather pleasant, went along with the action in the scene. Voice overs were very well done. The actors voices were excellent, even though I couldn't see the lips in most scenes.
Hidden objects were varied and very challenging in most instances. Some were down right hard. I think I had to use my hint more in this game than usual. The mini games were a nightmare! I didn't understand what I was to do most of the time and the others were well past my patience level. I used the custom setting so the skip was quickly available and used regularly. Most developers offer an alternative game to hidden objects, which I have never understood since these are hidden object games. Why don't they offer an alternative for mini games. Just a thought. I had the most difficulty with the map. I know it sounds weird, but it was the hardest thing to get use to and didn't seem to get better as the game progressed.
Really enjoyed the story. Big Fish and other reviewers will give you an idea of the story line, but let me just say, it is easy to follow and kept my interest all the way through. Just when I thought I had it all figured out.... wham, here came a curve that changed my thinking. Great story!
The greatest plus for this game... it wasn't supernatural in anyway. Please Big Fish, encourage the developers to create more of this genre. Give the demo a shot and see if you won't like it also.
I waited for a while for this to come out in the SE, and I just wish I hadn't gotten my hopes up. It was rather disappointing. I can't believe this is the same developer who brought us all those other wonderful games in this series. To begin with, the demo was really short in my opinion. I couldn't tell if I was going to like it or not, but with my previous experience with the developer and this series I made the purchase.
Graphics were good... dark, as expected, but very well done. Music wasn't intrusive and went along with the action in the scene, but the lip sync wasn't very good in the voice overs. Kind of like the old Japanese Godzilla movies where the lips move and then the sound. Effects were really good. My computer didn't like the game for some reason. It lagged so much it was like playing in slow motion. I have a relatively new computer with gaming software so I don't know what was wrong.
I found the hidden object scenes well done. Challenging and yet attainable .. usually. They were varied from lists to my least favorite silhouettes, to a combination of both. I rather enjoyed them. The mini games were way beyond my understanding and patience level. Love that skip button. One thing I wish all developers would do, is allow the instructions to be read before the game begins. Several of the minis, especially the last one, showed things on the scene, and as I was reading the instructions, everything turned over and I had not idea where to even begin finding the matching items. I'm not a big mini fan anyway, but this was just so frustrating!
The story was out there even for this series. It wasn't a bad story at all, but it did take a while for me to get into it. Once I did, it was rather enjoyable. Others will go into the story in-depth so I'll not bore you with my rendition.
As always give the demo a try, but as I said it is rather short, so don't base your like or dislike on it. I have purchased a lot worse games, but I expected a higher quality from these folks than what was delivered.

I have been trying to think how to write this the whole game. It's a okay game, not great nor good nor bad. Just okay. I enjoyed parts and some of it was just plain silly. Not sorry I got it, but glad I didn't have to pay to get it. It did keep me entertained this rainy Florida afternoon. The reason I bought got this is it wasn't ghosts, witches, goblins or anything that went bump in the night. Such a pleasant relief.
The graphics were well done. Not dark and dreary. They were clear and pleasant to look at. Music and effects went along with the action in the scene and weren't intrusive. Voice overs were good so far as sound. The lip sync, well that's another story. I felt like was was watching an old Japanese movie. The lips kept moving after the sound ended. Very weak in that department.
Hidden objects were very varied. I think probably I would have understood more of how the game played had I done the previous games, but this is the first one I recall seeing. The mini games.. well they were mini games. Some I did and some I couldn't figure out and some were just way past my patience level. I am one who uses the map a lot. I had a devil of a time trying to understand the map. I finally caught on, but it was hard for me to understand where to go.
I liked the story and the great twist in the end. Totally caught me off guard. however, the ending left a bit to be desired. It just quit basically. That was kind of a let down, but all in all it was great story.
Give the demo a shot and see if this isn't to your liking. As I said it is an okay game.

This is posted after playing the demo.
WOW! I can''t believe what Eipix did to this series. I read some of the reviews and they mentioned the puzzles, but I never dreamed it would be like it was. That over zealous run toward mini games took all the fun out of this one.
Graphics were well done and clear. Colors were pleasant and not dark and eerie as one would suspect. Music and effects went along with the action in the scene. Voice overs were extremely well done.
As mentioned, this game is over wrought with mini games. Way too many in my opinion. I don't care for them to begin with and to have one right after the other.... ridiculous. The hidden object games were good, clear and a pleasure to do. Had there been the usual number of minis, this would have been a good game.To be fair, many of the minis are not difficult. Some I couldn't understand what to do and the others were way past my patience level.
I'm sure there is a story in here someplace. About all I could get out of it, and the demo seemed pretty long to me, is werewolves are taking over London. Yep, that's about it in the time I played. It must come together in the rest of the game. Others will tell you about the story, so I'll leave that to them.
I almost bought this game anyway to add to my collection in the series, but this one will not be joining the collection. If you love mini games you're going to love this game. Just not my cup of tea. Give the demo a try and maybe you'll enjoy it more than me.
MT has come through once again. I really enjoyed playing this one. It's the best game I've played in a long while.
Graphics were excellent. I loved the ocean scenes especially. The colors were bright and easy on the eyes. Music was good. Wasn't intrusive at all and like the effects went along with the action in the scene. The only thing I didn't care for were the voice overs. They seemed so artificial and pressed. It seemed like the developers thought, "We need to have something here. Let's put in a fake voice over." It is not a deal breaker by any means, but just to unusual for this developer.
The hidden objects were good to an extent. So many designers are going to those little pop-up windows with little tiny objects and it's difficult to even see something. There were several of those. Even in the full screen scenes some of the objects were extremely small and pass difficult to see. Now those dreaded mini games. I do no like them to begin with, but when I can't understand the instructions, rather alone the game, it's skip time. I think I completed two or three of them. They are way past my patience and ability levels. If you like hard minis, you will love this game.
I really enjoyed the story. It seemed to keep me interested all the way through. Others will go into depth about what it is about, so I'll leave them to that and not bore you with my rendition. I'll just say it help my attention all the way through.
Play the demo and see if this game shouldn't be added to your collection. I loved it and I'm hard to please.
