I'm a big fan of storytelling without the scary factor and this little gem from Eipix ticks all the boxes. Even the music was good, along with superb graphics and interesting characters. Who knew the dragon was actually .... no I won't spill the beans here.
The gameplay was good with some innovative HOPs and reasonably straightforward games. It was an immediate buy for me.
Thank you Eipix for something different.
Vikings, gods, dragons - what more would anyone want? Except perhaps a game featuring Ancient Egypt and some pyramids and mummies......
I recommend this game!

I have always loved Dark Parables and own them all. The games are generally stunningly coloured, wonderful graphics and most of all a good storyline which hooks you from the start.
I automatically bought this game, even after the odd beginning with the arrogant and very rude duke (and the bad English). Does anyone believe he was madly in love with his wife?
I thought the game might get better.......it did not and neither did the English, right down to the final very strange ending to the bonus games.
The rain seemed to symbolise the death of Dark Parables as a series unless it receives a total makeover!
Yes the puzzles were ok but I hated the one with the coloured tokens which kept coming up. The HO scenes were blurry and colourless. Worst of all, the characters were dreadful.
Towards the end, I went on hoping for some sort of redemption for the game. But no.....I just got a headache.
I don't recommend this game.
Easter Island is under attack by living statues!

The reviews have been very positive about this game which is not surprising.
Gameplay ticks all the boxes for me (yes, even the music!):
It's exciting from the start
There is loads to do in each scene
All the bells and whistles of a good CE game are present
Colours and graphics are bright and clear
The HO's and games are mostly very fun
Although I am quite an experienced player, I had not finished the demo before time ran out!
This is a must have game in the series for me, I have all the others but this may well become my favourite
And finally, this developer is so good at games - this has to rank as one of the best.

Loved this game! Yes it's certainly for younger gamers but as a granny, let me tell you that I had fun.
Great graphics, story and charcters. The music was not quite as compelling as the other Christmas games but I had it on full blast while I played.
Thanks for this, it has inspired me to put up my tree and lace the fruit for our Chrismas cake with more whisky!!

What a pleasure to see another great game in the Hidden Expedition series!
I won't go into the story as others have already done that far better than I could.
Suffice to say that this game is interesting, funny and as usual for this developer, filled with things to find and do.
And I will definately be purchasing the Collector's Edition, it's so worth it!
I try hard to get all the achievements, I know it's possible and silly me, that fills me with delight.

Here's the thing. I love Eipix Collector's Editions because I almost always get all the achievements and those I don't, I can collect in the extras. Sadly, this matters to me as I am an average player and like to see them all light up at the end.
But this is a disappointing offering in so many ways.
The music is really depressing, the characters are not well thought out and I wish so much that there was actually some ice skating in this game. The graphics are ok but it's all a bit boring really.
Too easy for sure, even for me although a beginner might find it a little challenging.
I don't really care if any of the characters dies or breaks an ankle as the game progresses! I also don't care what happens to Ruth!
Having said that, I must admit I have not played the whole game yet and if there is a sale, I will buy the collector's edition.
Sorry Eipix, I really love your games but this will not be one of my favorites.
I recommend this game!

It started with great potential - kudos for the execution, if a little bloody - but oh my goodness, what a short and easy game, even for an intermediate player like me. If I hadn't got the game on a sale, I would have been very annoyed at spending any money on this. I am still annoyed at spending any money as I should have waited for the standard edition and used up one of my free games.
Yes the graphics are good, yes the story is good but as a Collector's Edition, it was very weak. Some pigeons and some weird acheivements - oh and the strategy guide which I used once!
The HOPs were just lazy in my opinion - no challenge and no excitement! Too many repeats and what was that with clock numbers, I think I counted three different HOPs to search for the same thing. Also the charging of the magic staff was far too simple and after a while, you only had to find two things instead of three.
The credits after the main game lasted almost as long as the game.
Is it just me or are games just being pushed out quickly without much thought - follow the formula and everyone will buy! Still waiting for that special game for 2015 and its May already.
Sorry developers, this game falls short of your usual standard and next time you bring one out, I will be much less inclined to buy it.
I don't recommend this game.

Well I have loved this series throughout apart from a couple of weird ones. This one is no exception except for one thing - what part of it has to do with hurricanes??
Love the fact that we can actually get extra help along the way. I do agree that the bonus menu is a bit in the way but folks, it only takes a second to move it!!
Loved the bees, hilarious and bzzzz.
Stickers popping up every five seconds on the map drove me little nuts, having to replay and replay to collect them - what's that all about
Also yes the horrible blech from the water tank makes me crazy. Please get rid of it - we can see when there is no water. That's why I only gave four stars for sound.
Other than that, loved it. Not hugely challenging but what fun. I get so addicted that hours pass - I kid you not.

Obviously we all have different requirements when we choose a game.
I like a bit of fantasy and challenge but am not the best thinker on the the planet. However this game was fun and not too hard for a dummy like me.
Lots of junk pile HOPs with slight interaction which I really dislike in general - however I found myself actually enjoying them. Must admit swopping to the card game quite often though which was also fun.
I loved the game in general and was very impressed with the story handled in the bonus chapter. Shades of Harry Potter!
For someone like me to actually get all the achievements is unreal! First time that's happened in a while. The circle puzzle which I had to skip in the main game worked fine in the bonus puzzles and I completed it there before I played the bonus game thus earning the non-skip achievement.
The guide irritated me though- kept going back to the beginning. The morphing objects were very easy to spot and the map worked very well.
Yes the whole game was quite short but for thinking out of the box and keeping me interested enough to keep looking - THANKS to the developers!
Overall though I had a lot of fun and will play this game again without hopefully needing the guide at all
Try it - you may be surprised how easily you get sucked into this magical world.

Having read the reviews already posted about this game, I understand that everyone enjoys different things. Yes, the story is kind of familiar but this game is great fun if you like the genre. I played through the demo in around an hour in casual mode (very casual, used the guide for a lot of help!!)
I also appreciated the guide showing the titles of all the chapters!
When I buy the game, I will start again in a harder mode so I guess it will take me quite a while.
For a relative novice like me, I liked the fact that the map was very clear about morphing misses! I want to get them all!!!
I will purchase this game, it's enjoyable and not too dark. Have a go! It made me smile now and then - loved the cat by the way.
