Completed: I enjoyed this game thoroughly. It has a wonderfully heartwarming story that is TRUE. I practically played from stat to finish. And even thought about this things after I finished...it had that much effect on me. It made me think of my parents and in-laws who have been married over 50 years!
The puzzles are not that difficult and there is a interaction for each task. Though mainly a HO game there other types of puzzles between the HOs to keep it from being repetitive.
I recommend this game if you are looking for just a laid back game to enjoy between the adventurous games out there. And this is family friendly!
Completed: This is a hidden gem of a game. I loved that it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that most BFG's have but it's still very well done. Even though I had to read and watch the cut scenes to get the story I was captivated and wanted to know more. The graphics are well suited for the theme of the game. The music was unobtrusive. I liked that there are a galore of puzzles to do and lots of tasks to complete. The map was helpful because I could travel to the area where a task need to be done. I found that though game appears gloomy it wasn't that much at all because I don't like really gloomy games.
Completed CE: Cheers for Eipex! I can say I am not a fan of creepy but I found this was not what I expected. I was so intrigued by the story that I played from start to finish nonstop. There were some creepy moments but they fit perfect into the story. The graphics fit perfect for the genre and the music well done. The voice acting was exceptional. The variety puzzles suited the game well.
The most creepy thing I encountered was the very ending in the bonus chapter. (Sorry, no spoilers here!)
This game is worth it, even without the bonus content I recommend this game!
Completed CE: I always look forward each year to this series. Each year never fails to bring a delightful tale of an old story with new twists. This year Alice in (Christmas) Wonderland. I played the whole thing through without stopping.
Excellent story, beautiful graphics, superb voice acting and a festive holiday music score. The puzzles are a plenty and a gift of variety. The cut scenes are placed perfectly to bring much cheer.
I highly recommend this whole series for holiday fun and cheer. The whole family can play.
COMPLETED:This is a great kids/family game. It has a great story filled with cute critters. The puzzles are not hard at all: just find the hidden objects and farm animals. The graphics are really colorful and wonderful for the kid in all of us!
Completed CE: From the first installment of this series I was hooked. Each "chapter" in this gets better. Each story is gripping and has a lot to offer in adventure and intrigue. I can say it has been a long while since I have found a great new series on BF. I am glad the developers have made a series that keeps me wanting more.
Since others have said much about the story and other things I will only add this without giving any spoilers:The game's mechanics are exceptional with graphics, puzzles, story, characters, and music score. And the bonuses are always a nice touch.
I recommend all 3 series. I am glad to have something worth purchasing on BF again.
Completed CE: This is a good game. It has a great story. The puzzles I felt were easy and the grainy scenes gave it the "noir" feel. The voice acting was well done and I really liked the music score because it went perfect with the game's themes.
The story was good but lacked the suspense it needed to give it the pizzazz of being noir. Playing Dectective Fox was great but I could tell he was walking into danger before it happened...so unnoir style. Also, there was not really a mystery because I felt it was given to me to fast, to early. There was no build to the suspense and thrill of the mystery that you get from noir. And I found..I guess a bug...in several of the voice clips that Detective Fox and other npc's lines were clipped off before they finished talking, I was thankful for the text because I could read what they should have said.
This could really be a great game if the developers fix the bugs and put a little more thought into it. Don't rush it! Build the suspense and thrill of the mystery. And don't throw the ruin it by giving the story away to early in or quickly in the game!
Completed: There are no shenanigans about this game. It is straight forward. Though it might be more like when adventure hidden objects games first started this game is a winner in for me.
The story is well thought out and put together. The graphics are crisp and well done. The music score is not obtrusive. The voice acting is exceptional. There is a map that helped me locate were I was though it didn't give me any clues to anything. The hint button is very helpful. And the journal stored clues which I needed throughout the game.
NOTE: There is not any bells or whistles to this game. It is straight forward in finding items and doing the HOs, completing puzzles and tasks to move forward. The area is not so big that you get lost. And once you pick up items you do carry some of them around until you use them. Yes, you have to use your brain for a change, which is a very good plus!
The runestone that has protected the town of Neverville for centuries has disappeared. Now, the evil necromancer Grimhall is threatening its people. Can you save them from this grim fate?
Completed: Enjoyed this game. Had a good story and really nice graphics. The voice acting was well done. The puzzles were not that hard. There isn't a map but everything is pretty much in the area were the tasks are located. There was a time or two I used the hint, which was helpful and allowed my to travel to the area. The HOs are all straight forward seek and find. The only thing that got me was the abrupt ending
Richard Stone finds traces of an unknown civilization when investigating disappearance of the chief engineer. The find will lead Richard to the most amazing adventure of his life.
Complete: This is a great game to keep one busy for a few hours. It has an interesting story and great graphics. There are a variety of mini games and no HOS. There isn't any voice acting so the text has to be read. The map allows for quick travel and shows places of interest. The music score is perfect for the games theme.
I really liked this game. It was not fancy by today's BF standards but that didn't bother me. I liked that the story was not dark and gloomy. And there wasn't any creepy moments. Though it's the good guy getting the bad guy there wasn't anything magical. Just good old follow the clues, pick up items, and solve puzzles along the way...kind of like the early 1920+ era I believe this story is set in.
