I loved the old Arkanoid-style game, but have been disappointed by many of the new versions. This one, however, is wonderful: the effects are beautiful, the special powers are interesting, and it gets challenging. This is my favorite arcade-type game right now.
This game is a good falling blocks game, where the blocks fall faster as you go up in the series. The characters are CUTE and I love the sounds and the music. It may have been conceived as a kids' game, but the speed and story are plenty of fun for me too. One of my repeat favorites.
I recommend this game!

Trijinx
Jump back in time to play this Egyptian twist on action puzzles!
This is one of my favorite games. There is a story, which I didn't find terribly compelling (although the graphics are a clever reference to the comics of Hergé, who wrote the TinTin series), but the game itself is one of those I can play for hours. I hardly ever like to game music playing, but the music for this one is nice and clever and eggs me on. Triangles fall in patterns and you can't let them stack up, but there are clever differences between this and a Tetris-type game. Relaxing and good for the reflexes!
I like all the "Cradle of" games, but this one has a variation on the match 3 in which you have to unite lines of any length. It actually takes some planning to set up a playing board that can be won. As you work higher they get quite a bit harder. I keep returning to this game and always find it fun and challenging.
This game is not for the impatient. But it is so engrossing...if you like plants, I think you will love this game. You have to watch them, feed them, kill pests, fertilize, etc, and do it as the plants grow. You can leave the keyboard to do other things and when you come back the plants will have grown, produced seeds and so on. Thank goodness you can set the time so that if you turn it off for 20 hours you don't come back to find everything dead. (I killed everything the first time.) The details are amazing. And you sell them in a nursery, but only when they are ready. I think this may be my favorite game of any, and I have LOTS of games from BigFish.
I haven't been able to stop playing this! It's an odd variation on billiards (with additions) but much more interesting to me. It gets harder and harder. I can tell that this is one I'll be playing for a long time, both to relax and to challenge myself.
The Match 3 part of this game is reasonably hard and pleasant, but the really fun part for me is that you earn money to design the gardens around structures of ancient Babylon (which may not be historically accurate, but they are beautiful.) If you are a gardener with no room or too much winter I think you would love this game. I have redesigned the many gardens 7 times and want to continue. Just as in real life, you have to make sure that your plantings don't exceed your ability to pay for water and pesticides. There are tricks to solve this problem and then you can do anything...French, English, spare, amazing flower groupings. One of my 3 favorites!
I hesitated to get this game because I thought the visuals looked like a kiddy game. However, it's actually quite pretty. The match 3 has some slight twists in it and some difficult situations as you go along. I find I can play it quite happily for a long time (instead of cleaning my house.)
I recommend this game!

I like match threes a LOT, but if they are attached to long stories or have images directed at kids I am not so interested. This one has no story, but many levels which get quite hard. You get some explosive devices that make a really delicious noise. Some of the levels take me a long time to finish because you have to plan a bit. And the fish swimming and the info about sea animals is a useful bonus. Mesmerizing.
