This game involves matching colored stones, but it is not a Match 3 type game. It is more like a board game. You try to cluster 6 or more stones of the same color, and when you do, they are removed. The process is complicated by the fact that with every move that does not result in a removal, more stones appear, so it requires minimizing moves. A win results in money to build an Egyptian city (also to outfit your trophy room and buy you clothes.) Every building yields taxes. I LOVE collecting the taxes! My only complaint is that I would like much more ground to build the city on, because it's so fun. But there is actually quite a lot provided.
I really enjoy "Chains Relinked 2", but this is even more fun. They've added additional ways of linking and built in a short lag that allows you to make very long chains in many directions if you are quick enough. The cartoonish plot, involving Monty-Pythonesque little men on bits of planets which grow into one as you proceed, is less interesting to me than the game itself. I could play the game for hours.
Take a journey through medieval times. Help Joan of Arc to build a new kingdom and change the fate of the people in this epic story of honor and courage.
As a Match 3 game (this one featuring all 3 modes of making matches) this is not surprisingly different from the other best games of that genre. The pieces are pretty and there are special goals that are stated. Keys driven to the bottom unlock additional parts to the playing area. But the thing that wins me over is the sound effects...relaxing and elegant. In particular there is a wonderful "tockity" sound that accompanies each move, making it "tactile" and very pleasant. For people who enjoy pretty Match 3 games to focus on and relax with, this game should be a hit.
This is in the same falling blocks mode as Around the World in 80 Days and two other Atlantis Games. The art is not as interesting as the two other games, but the maps are much more interesting, going into greater detail about the Fertile Crescent and Greece in pre-classical days. There is also the most DELICIOUS tinkling-strumming lyre sound that accompanies the passage of pieces...I would want this game for that sound alone! It is beautiful and relaxing and gets harder at higher levels.
I like all the "Cradle of" games. This one is a fairly standard Match 3, but the "units" are particularly appealing visually, and the game can get fairly complicated as you get to higher levels. Meanwhile you earn supplies to build an Egyptian village with monuments, which are nice but not unusual. I've been through the game several times and find it relaxing, and the tourney and blitz modes are quite challenging.
This is a match 3 game with some interesting variations. You must eliminate a villain who creates problems; then obstacles appear which must be destroyed with bombs (earned by making long matches) or powers that you accumulate. The final series of games are fairly hard and require planning. I had only 2 complaints: the primary sound effect has a metallic quality that I find annoying, but I am sensitive to certain frequencies. No one else around me seems to mind it and I just turn the sound down. The other is that the Egyption princess heroine looks a little too much like a modern superheroine. But the art backgrounds are wonderful and very detailed. I have gone through this game several times and will again.
This game doesn't vary from its basic "make a continuous line of vines or branches" idea, but it quickly becomes very challenging. You have to make lines of 3 or more branches or vines to eliminate the tiles behind them. When there are no more tiles, you move up. But you have to plan and move with care. Lady bugs fly over and change tile-less squares back to tiles. For a quick-reflexes and planning game I really recommend this.
I recommend this game!

Fishdom 2
Dive into awesome Match 3 fun in Fishdom 2! Swap colorful tiles and earn money to create the aquarium of your dreams!
This is not a particularly hard match 3 game, but the artwork is charming, and it is relaxing and soothing to play--one of the things I enjoy in some Match 3 games. You accumulate money to stock an aquarium, and the results are more interesting and complex than other similar games in which you build environments. This is a good game to play at the end of "one of those days," I think. As I play I can feel my blood pressure going down. The cartooning is clever and playful.
If you want to move quickly and test hand-eye coordination, this is a GREAT game. You match objects to shape outlines, and many of them are complex. They begin to move faster and faster, and become difficult. The idea of collecting the shapes as stamps and storing them in books is actually fun, and I like the art. Warning: the "sweets and candy" level may make you want to eat cookies. I play this game a lot and I actually think my reflexes have improved.
I can get bored with jigsaw games, but this one is different. For one thing, the materials of the puzzles vary and are quite beautiful. For another, you compete against yourself for speed and accuracy. That means you may keep trying to assemble a given puzzle over time before you finally achieve a true finish. The pieces are not all displayed at the same time, and not necessarily in the size they will be when you add them to the picture; so noticing tiny details of shape is very important. I have played many of the pictures a number of times, still trying to get a "complete" rating. Fun!
