Many other reviews have explained the mechanics so I'll skip that bit. The graphics are obviously far superior to the original but I found a REALLY frustrating flaw...
In the first installment I was able to keep a notebook and systematically breed fish to discover all varied fin types within each breed of fish. (i.e. breeding "pink stickfish" with "crimson stickfish" created a third fin type, then breeding those 3 created another new type or two). In this installment I used the same method and often found that after 15 fin types or 18 fin types I would hit a wall in discovering all 21 in the breed!
With limited tank space to hatch more fish or breed other types until you randomly pick up another stickfish to add to your collection of the 18 you have already... I simply got irritated and abandoned the game.
If this is your first time then, by all means, go ahead and grab the game. Personally, I'd likely recommend the original instead even though the graphics are Atari class.
I don't recommend this game.

This game was cute and had a moderate level of challenge but was lacking in graphics. Overall I enjoyed playing it but doubt I'll play it again, wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it and certainly wouldn't race to purchase a sequel.
Part of the fun with this type of store game is certainly in earning the upgrades for your environment and I found the upgrades were not very visually appealing and a giant pain in the butt to scroll through!

This was one of those instances where I ran out of the trial time and purchased on an impulse... don't be like me. This game was overall mediocre, at best.
It has a time travel story line that was cute at times but dialogue was also annoying at times. Graphics are mid level, sound quality and voice overs are great but as someone else previously stated the music was truly obnoxious!
I found little to no challenge in beating it within a couple hours and see ZERO replay value in this game. The "adventure" portion was lacking as this game was simply littered with hidden object scenarios.
I don't recommend this game.

I certainly found this game refreshing! A brilliant brain teaser that defies the norm of the Big Fish collection!
Your goal is to guide a line of sheep through something of an obstacle course using arrows that you must place within their path and click to establish arrow direction on the board, the sheep will then travel in said direction.
Be careful to avoid pitfalls or enemies that can destroy your sheep! The levels are timed but I rarely felt frazzled by the clock. The reoccurring mini game after a number of levels was also fun but does inspire anxiety and that frazzled feeling for those of you who enjoy that aspect ;)
I recommend this game!

I was expecting something similar to the board game Clue.... boy, was I WRONG!
If you are the type of person who shops in the grocery store on the magazine rack for puzzle books that include classic "logic problems" you'll LOVE this game!
This game is similar in game play mechanics without the need for a pen and paper. Each level has clues like "Mary is two spaces to the left of John" and "John is directly above the knife". Levels become progressively more difficult and in some cases, present a significant challenge.
The game offers puzzle mode or career mode, easy, medium or hard modes and timed or relaxed play. Unless you have an eidetic memory, this will have a VERY high replay value. I saw the potential of that during the trial, cut my trial short to back out and buy it immediately and have not been disappointed with that decision!
I enjoy submitting reviews for all of the unique games that I find on Big Fish, this was no exception!
I recommend this game!

I read the rave reviews of this game and decided to give it a try. I have played one other RPG game in my life. The game I played prior was a phone app which I loved so I thought I'd give this a try based on it's star rating and stellar reviews. However, this game was drastically different from my first experience.
It seemed to me this was 90% story and 10% play. The dialogues were very lengthy, mostly irrelevant to game mechanics and you are unable to skip them. While I thought the story was somewhat interesting I was frustrated that I wasn't able to play.
When I WAS able to play I found myself doing a lot of aimless wandering before I happened upon what to do. I blame the meager tutorial. Mind you I am no idiot, I graduated valedictorian in college and I'm 40 years old.
In a specific example I was locked in a cell, spoke to the character I recognized as a friend until the dialogue ended. Nothing happened. So I went to speak to every person in the cell and got no information at all just stuff like "why are you in here, you're a human". I clicked on every possible thing in the cell. It was when I happened upon the friend character a second time that more dialogue came about and the game progressed and I thought to myself, then why did this stupid game intentionally close the dialogue with this character the first time?!?!?
This game is NOT for me and certainly NOT for anyone who is unfamiliar with the genre!

I discovered Build-a-lot back in 2008, here I am 10 years later finally getting around to a review. I have purchased several of the sequels even though the game mechanics didn't change much because they are simply fun. This game has a high replay value for me and is well worth the purchase.
If you are a rookie to time management you will likely find this to be an excellent challenge, seasoned time managers will still be pleased but may find this a tad more relaxed than other games currently available.
You will have a neighborhood screen for each level, you purchase vacant lots, source wood from those with trees and build specific number of houses while racing the clock. As the levels progress you will add parks, municipal buildings, lumberyards, etc. and will progress to the buy low and sell high concept and encounter more challenges like homes that require repair before they will pay the specified rent again.
Overall, a delightful game that can be entertaining for hours!
I recommend this game!

The Dream Day series is delightful! While I do enjoy adventure games with hidden object scenes in them, I find I am generally either tolerating that part of the game or indifferent to it and only interested in the adventure part.
I was shell-shocked that I actually really enjoyed this purely hidden object game. There is a small story line that is cute but I think what I most appreciate was the artistry of the scenes and the ease of object distinction... many times a shadowed object in games can be very deceptive or they use antiquated words for objects.
The game play itself was fairly easy but fun. I have purchased all of the Dream Day games and never purchased any other purely hidden object game. My kids have enjoyed coming to sit by me at the computer and help find things as well!
As someone who hates this type of game I went to the trouble to write this endorsement of the Dream Day series... I hope that tells you something ;)
I recommend this game!

If you love time management games you'll really appreciate this mad rush to run a successful farm! The characters are adorable, graphics and sound are great and the overall game play was incredibly fun! I've played MANY of the farm style games and this has been my favorite!
You'll start with running to tend you crops and increase in difficulty as you acquire animal and machinery to make more complex goods. I found that I couldn't pull myself away from the computer for hours on end!
