This review is based on the Demo, as i do not intend to buy the Full Version and certainly not a CE.
I found this game boring and childish. Little to no need to think or puzzle anything out and certainly not at all exciting or engaging .
Some of the HOG were OK, but the puzzles were so easy and basic that i felt like i was playing a child's game. Even for the easiest challenges, one was prompted with what needed to be done next.
Though the colors and graphics were pretty good, the game play was definitely nothing close to a 4 star game unless of course it was designed for young children.

Some of the best games (that are a rare occurrence) only get a 4 to 5 rating. Great games, where there is excellence on all levels ... creativity, artwork, story line, and an engaging and challenging game play could be considered a 4 to 5 star rating. I do not see how the ratings for this game could in any way approach 4 let alone 5 stars. Commercial, cookie-cutter games which only require clicking and more mindless clicking, do not, in my humble opinion deserve a 4, let alone a 5 star rating. I also think if we continue to give average games above average ratings, then we will continue to be served below average games.
Innovation, creativity, art and excellent game play has been provided by some developers and we should encourage it by giving the best reviews to these exceptional games. Average games like Yuletide Legends CE should get no more than average reviews.

I don't recommend this game.
Snow, Ice and the deadly wind blowing from the Frozen Mountains! The Lost Lands have been overtaken by ice in the middle of summer!

I really enjoyed everything about Lost Lands, Ice Spell and thank BFG and the developer for finally giving us a game worth playing.
I spent many hours enjoying being in the adventure of Lost Lands.
What i loved best, aside from the great graphics, charismatic characters, diversified and interesting games, was a story line that was fun to follow and get absorbed into. Once i started playing, i did not want to stop.
It was quite clear to me that this game was developed with care and creativity.
So many games that are offered are just a copy paste rehash of the same old story line, games, puzzles and scenarios.
I spent many hours enjoying being in the adventure of Lost Lands.
What i loved best, aside from the great graphics, charismatic characters, diversified and interesting games, was a story line that was fun to follow and get absorbed into. Once i started playing, i did not want to stop.

So i buy less games and wait for a really good game to come along.

Based on the Demo... couldn't wait for it to be over.
The game and its characters are stiff and stilted.
I found it very boring to go back and forth in the different areas to pick up items that did not correspond to any particular logic. One finds a tent stake (a rather small item in real life) that is used as a lever to pick up beams !!!! a coiled telephone wire to pass through a slightly cracked car door window when one has just inserted a key in the car door .???? No flow to the game just jumping from scene to scene to try and figure out what was what and where to use it. There were tools that one had collected in the inventory that could have been used (to pick up the floor covering.... but no... one had to get the return handle (almost invisible by the way) from a typewritter and that was the tool that corresponded to picking up the floor mat.... why not the tent stake or the stick.... ???
The whole demo was nothing but a bundle of blundering absurdities in a rather drab environment with little to no interest.

Enjoyed every moment of this GREAT GAME. Beautiful scenery, delightful detail, creativity on every level An absorbing adventure full of fun puzzles, varied HOGs with a well paced but relaxing flow that kept me engaged throughout the game.
Did not want it to end ! Bravo to the developers for the impressive art work. This was not a short game and very satisfying to feel i got my money's worth in buying the CE version !
Hope we are offered more games of this high quality. Will be looking forwards to playing more games that are of such high standards.

Based on the completion of the full game.
I liked everything in this adventure.
I thought the graphics were fine, the artwork lovely, the story line enjoyable.
So many different scenes to wander through...the creativity and the imagination of every one of them was a pleasure to visit.
The game flowed beautifully and required some thoughtfulness but remained relaxing and totally enjoyable.
I played for hours and was fully absorbed in the story from beginning to end..
The puzzles were varied and colorful. I liked the fact that some were harder than others, a well balanced variety of challenges.. The HOPs were also very diversified. I found the objects were clear and though one had to do some searching and some thinking,... i was never frustrated or annoyed by either the puzzles or hidden object scenes. Again, a nice combination of relaxing challenges with little to no repetition which is all to often the case in many of the games we have been offered lately.

I am quite surprised that this game received so many low ratings.... as i was really thrilled to finally have an opportunity to play a CE that was worth the price invested. I have found that in the last year that the games offered by BFG did not warrant being classified as CE. This game however was definitely worth the cost and i do not regret having purchase it at all.
I do have a preference for light fantasy over dark creepy ambiances and the atmosphere in this game was perfect for me. A relaxing yet challenging adventure !
I also appreciated that the game was significantly longer in content than most games that i have played in some time.
Thank you developers... i will be looking forwards to playing more games like this one !

The graphics are ok but too dark for my tastes
The game was slow slow slow
The repetitive pick up pieces of maps .... well ... what can i say : other than .....totally repetetive
The few HOG i played were so-so and not at all challenging

Only played the VERY short Demo... and barely had the patience to make it through that.
Story line absurd...
Voice overs terribly annoying

HOGs were not fun and the most of the shapes were barely recognizable.
Aside from that....well i'm being chased by someone who seems to want to kill me. While trying to escape from him i have to fix the consierge's snowglobe (makes no sense) and then, I when I finally get into my house I go back out into the street because the consierge left me a note asking me to fix the street clock... ???? totally absurd back and forth from the safety of my home to the street where a killer is out to get me !!!!.
Then there are the interruptions of low quality of cutscenes that totally take away from the flow of the action..... I definately did not feel engaged by this game and would not even buy it in the SE version.
The three previous reviewers gave it 5 stars... but then again their ratings are always published almost simultaneously with the release of the game. Most other reviews have a 48 - 72 hour validation period before their reviews appear...... i wonder why !!! These particular reviewers also seem to give just about all games a high rating. Well maybe our tastes differ (obviously) but i really can't fathom giving this game 5 stars, let alone four or even a three.

I did NOT feel that the game was the same old stuff that has been proposed to the loyal BFG players lately. This game was brilliant.
It flowed smoothly and i felt totally engaged in the story.
Lots of attention to detail went into creating every aspect of this game and i am thankful for the care and quality that the developers put into it.
I just wish that games of this quality were offered more often.I would love it ! As a frequent player of BFGames, i am always looking forward to games that are fun to play and not the ordinary hum-drum, same old, same old routine. I'm looking for entertaining and creative games. Tried the CE demo first and thought it was ok but not extrodinary so i purchased the SE version which i just finished playing.
What I enjoyed :
* Graphics are quite nice

* Repitition of goals... finding the beads...all in different areas but nevertheless not really earth shattering creativity in the plot.
* Repitition of mini-games : To defeat the characters cursed by evil (so as to retreave the "beads"), one must use the magic token. This action brings on a mini-game of sorts... "connect 3 or more". Over and over, one must replay the same "puzzle" (with little to no variation) throughout the game. I feel that this type of filler puzzle is very disappointing (no real challenge) and even quite annoying. It is also ,for me, one solid reason not to invest in a CE. If a game has this type of repetitious "filler", I feel that its boring activity.... and not what i'm looking for in a good game.

Outstanding graphics, Great game play, fun story line, interesting boards... an endless variety of challenges !!!
