I don't give out praise lightly. but this game deserves it! I'm very hard to please with a game, but this one is the best I have ever played in my life. From beginning to end, it was a masterpiece, and it was money well spent!
The storyline was absolutely amazing. As the game goes on, you go deeper in to the organ grinder's past, and you start to uncover the true story of love, jealousy and tragedy. The cursed cards were a wonderful addition to the game, and explain how the people wronged him. The ending is magnificent, a fitting ending to the game.
The HOS were great. They were a great challenge and included interactive objects. There were some easier than others, which I enjoyed.
On the subject of HOS and puzzles, the puzzles were great. The last one (sorting the deck of cards) was my favourite. It not only tested your memory. but was very fun to play too.
The graphics of this game were top class, as always. Not once did I have to squint or tilt my computer screen back. Not once were any of the scenes hazy. You can clearly tell this is a game from 2013.
Focusing on the sound now, the music was well suited to the game and presented the ominous feel of fear throughout. The voice artist for the Organ Grinder did the job spectacularly. It presented and extra sense of fear, and seemed to fit the story perfectly.
The main features of the game were as follows:
- As is custom with many of the recent games from Elephant, you are given a little creature, "Terrance" to help you with many things throughout the game. He proved to be very useful. and helped retrieve many an object which were vital to the game.
- The game has an option to re-watch the card scenes, which I really enjoyed. They allowed you to revisit forgotten scenes of the story.
- Also to custom, the game features a map, which allows you to jump between scenes. This saves a lot of time backtracking, and allows you to get to the main points of the game quicker.
This game captivated and delighted me for hours- what a gem we have been given here. I would play this game again and again, it is by far not only the best game of 2013, and the best this developer has produced, but also in my opinion, the best game on the site.
I 100% recommend you download the trial and buy immediately. Whether it be the Collector's Edition or the Standard Edition, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!!
I recommend this game!

This was the first game I had played since coming back to BFG, and I didn't like it! Had it been better, it would have been a game worth playing but, alas, no.
Firstly, the storyline is not only BORING, but confusing and hard to follow. The story is set just after the plague has finished, and you have been called to investigate some at first called "unexplained deaths" but later the game calls them "murders." Then, interviewing a survivor, it is noted that there is a sickness. So, are these murders or a virus? That's what stumps me, and what stumped me even more was when the carriage driver was taken. Why? What role does he have? Or was he just in the wrong place at the wrong time? All of this just confused me, and even if you take it out of the equation, the story itself is not very good. Based on the story alone you have a dud game.
In addition to this, one thing I took for granted was missing:
- The map was not interactive, so you had to go back and forth all by yourself, and the map was not very helpful at all.
,
I'll start focusing on the positives:
The graphics, while they could have been a little bit better, were actually pretty good. Nothing was hazy, I didn't have to squint or tilt my PC screen once, and everything was clear.
Also, I rather liked the HOS. Some of them were a real challenge and I was forced to use my hint a few times, and some were easy, which in my opinion is a great mix. The HOS also included "extra step" objects.
The puzzles were also a mix of easy and hard, which I enjoyed. I only had to skip one, which was the drainpipe one.
Focusing on the other things in the game:
- The hint and skip recharged fast and the hint was very helpful.
- The strategy guide was useful when I got a little stuck.
When you analyse the main points of the game, the thing that really lets it down, and the reason why it turns me off the game, is the storyline. Had the storyline been a little more interesting, and the intro been a little more gripping, (rather than "go off to Kisolova and investigate murders," actually show a murder first or something...) We would have had a rather enjoyable game.
I don't recommend this game.

I was fascinated when I started the game, but that soon dwindled in to sheer bordem, because this game really isn't worth the time.
(based on 35 minutes of the demo)
Good Parts:
Story; absolutely fascinating. It grips you right from the start and you just HAVE to play on!
HOS are a good challenge, include extra step objects, and one item that takes longer to assemble.
Great graphics. Artwork is well done, and everything is clear.
Selective voice-overs, but the characters that do have voice-overs are done brilliantly.
Hint and skip recharge fast.
OK Parts:
Some puzzles were good, but others I didn't like so much. It's a good thing the skip charged quick.
Hint was not helpful sometimes, and would keep directing me to the same thing.
Bad Parts:
Map is useless. Does not have much purpose in the game, and does not allow you to jump between locations.
The game is in desperate need of a strategy guide. For most of the game, I found it really hard to figure out what to do, and was just left wandering and wandering.
I quickly got bored with the game; there is nothing, save for the story, that makes me want to play on.
Gameplay is severly problematic. Like I said, hint is not helpful, and you just get stuck over and over again.
Had it not been for an excellent story, this game may have gotten a 2 or even a 1 rating from me. There is nothng to gain from playing this game.
I don't recommend this game.

I didn't play the first Sacra Terra, so I had no idea what to expect when playing this game, but I have to say, I'm impressed!
(based on demo)
Good Parts:
Best thing would have to be the storyline. The opening is great, and the cutscenes are awesome. Have to say there was not one bit of the story I found boring.
Great graphics, especially with the bright colours. Artwork is well-done.
Voice-overs are great.
HOS are good, icnlude some extra step objects and one zoom in mini scene. The HOS were a challenge, and weren't too hard either.
The map is very useful. Allows you to jump from locations and saves a lot of time.
Hint and skip recharge fast.
I actually liked the puzzles! I can;t say that about many games, but in total there was only 1 I needed to skip.
OK Parts:
Fair bit of backtracking.
Bad Parts:
Had to refer to the hint a lot. Did not know what to do for most of the game.
The skip took too long to recharge, and if you accidently backed out of the puzzle, you would have to start the recharge all over again.
Sacra Terra: Kiss of Death is not great, but it's not terrible either. It was nice to play for the demo, so I'd definitely recommend downloading the free trial!
I recommend this game!

Well, I'm going against the general opinion but this wasn't really ejoyable to me; I know a great game when I see it and this was NOT a great game.
Good Parts:
First off- STUNNING graphics. They were very detailed; artwork is well done, and the colours are great.
HOS were really good and included interactive objects.
You have to find the map; but when you do it is really useful.
A little while in to the game, you aquire the gargoyle, which you can use to help you. This idea has already been used by Elephant Games, but is still a good addition to this one.
I liked the amulet too; it was a great, unique addition to this game.
There were achievements- YES!
OK parts:
The hint too a bit too long to recharge,
I didn't like most of the puzzles; but some were good. The main problem with the puzzles was the difficulty level.
Bad Parts:
The storyline wasn't interesting at all. I tried to stick out the demo but couldnt. I was just bored out of my mind.
There seemed to be a lot of backtracking with this game.
Throughout the game, I was not interested once; I couldnt bring myself to play on.
Overall, quite a disappointment. I wouldn't recommend this,

I'd been following this game for MONTHS. I'd read teaser after teaser on Elephant's FB page, and was delighted when I finally got the chance to play it. What did I get? A brilliant adventure. The demo stopped at 1/2 an hour, but I absolutely 100% plan to buy.
Good Parts:
Evil storyline, the best one yet. I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end of the demo. Can't wait to buy this and finish it. The Organ Grinder is voiced perfectly, and the cards that you pick up through the game just add to the brilliance of the story. The cutscenes are brilliant and are extremely well done. I am full of praise.
HOS were great; they were interactive, including one item (marked in blue# that required an extra step to complete.
Graphics are amazing. Flawless, just brilliant. Artwork is amazing, animation is great.
Hint and skip are quick to recharge and the hint is very useful
Strategy guide is useful.
There was a "lost pets" thing that I'm guessing is exclusive to the CE, which I really liked.
The little pheonix that you acquire early in the game was great fun and very helpful.
Map allows you to jump between locations and saves you a lot of time.
OK Parts:
Puzzles. Some were ok, I had a crack at them but couldn't finish them. Had to use skip for all.
There was a bit of backtracking; for example, I would find something outside of the Monster House which would need to be used a lot further back.
Bad Parts:
I've got nothing bad to say about this game save for 2 things
#a# the demo is WAY too short at 30 minutes.
#b# There was one minor incident in which my game terminated, but I was able to get it back up and running with no further problems.
Brilliant, jaw-dropping and flawless are just a few of the words I would use to describe this wonderful game. I will most certainly be getting out the credit card to buy; Elephant Games have done it once again, and if I dare say, this is my new favourite!
I recommend this game!

I have waited SO LONG for the third installment of the Surface series- and it did not dissapoint! I LOVED this game and will most certainly be buying!
Good Parts:
The HOS were awesome; not too easy or too hard, and you could use items from your inventory to complete the extra step objects.
Story is amazing. At first I thought it might be a dud, but as I played on, the story got better and better and better, to the point where the demo ended and I HAD to find out what happened next.
Stunning graphics- excellent artwork and animations.
Great voice-overs; characters have real life actors playing them.
The game has collectable flowers, which are used in the philanthropy; kind of like the shop in Surface 2.
The CE also has achievements, which are really great.
For once, the puzzles were actually pretty good; there were some that I didn't get but I was actually able to complete a few this time!
Strategy guide is helpful.
OK Parts:
Hint is helpful, but takes too long (60 sec) to recharge.
There is a fair bit of backtracking through this game.
Bad Parts:
There was nothing actually wrong with the gameplay, but there were some things included in the game that annoyed me, you had to go to the menu to see the achievements.
So that's the only bad thing I can think of to do with this game. It's almost perfect. I own Surface 1 & 2, and am dying to complete it with Surface 3! Download the trail, you'll LOVE it!
I recommend this game!

This isnt the usual standard of game that Alwar brings us. I played only 20 minutes of the demo and got bored out of my mind.
Good Parts:
Hint & Skip recharge fast
HOS were good; included some objects which you needed to piece together. They provided a good level of challenge.
Pretty good graphics. They were clear and detailed; lots of effot has been put in to the artwork.
OK Parts:
Game kinda needs a strategy guide. I was relying on the hint a bit too much.
One too many HOS in my opinion.
A fair bit of backtracking in the game.
Bad Parts:
No voice-overs, which I found odd. Voice-overs are pretty much a necessecity for any storyline.
Speaking of the storyline, I didn't much enjoy it. It was hard to follow, and was a little on the creepy side, Also, it was nothing new.
Didn't like the puzzles; they were too hard. We should have been able to use the hint to give us a hand in the puzzle, but no! Every time you click the hint, it directs you to the ? button which has the puzzles instructions.
It may just be me, but I didn't find anything too exciting about this game. So I'd skip it.
I don't recommend this game.

Elephant Games has given us yet another winner in Death Pages. I was really excited when I was given the chance to play, and my expectations were met brilliantly.
Good Parts:
FIrst off, amazing storyline. I loved the intro, and as I went on, the story just got better and better. I won't tell you what it is, download the trial to find out!
Brilliant graphics, as always. Quie clear, brilliant artwork, detailed animations.
Great voice-overs.
Hint and skip recharge fast
The HOS are not the best, but provided me with a great level of challenge previously unseen in Elephant Games. The HOS are kinda simillar to those of Detective Quest: The Crystal Slipper.
Built-in startegy guide helped me a lot.
Game has a map, which is really detailed.
OK Parts:
Puzzles. They required a lot of thinking, which my math brain was good at for some, but not for others.
Game has no diary, odd, but I don't need one anyway.
Bad Parts
There was quite a bit of backtracking in the game, a little too much for my liking. For example, there were 4 rusty gears which I found at the beginning of the game. I found the oil can well in to the first world, and I needed to go all over the place to retrieve the gears.
Most of the time, I was struggling to figure out what to do next.
This is one cracker of a game, first game of 2013 to earn a recommendation from me. I will be purchasing, however, I think I may wait for the SE.
I recommend this game!

Gogii games has given us yet another SHOCKER. 25 minutes of the free trial was enough for me.
HINT & SKIP
- in the 25 minutes I played, I did not see any puzzles so no skip recharge time can be given.
- Hint takes 30 seconds to charge.
HOS & PUZZLES
- The HOS were cerainly... different. Is that a good thing? In this case it was not. What Blue Tea Games did so well, Gogii failed miserably. Basically the whole point of the HOS is to find many objects, set in to groups. Once you complete each group, you form an object which can be used in the scene. The last object you form is the object you take in your inventory. This annoyed me for two reasons
(a) the amount of objects I had to find was more than other scenes.
(b) I was getting confused in the scenes.I would click on something that would be a place for a formed object.
- I did not see any puzzles, so I'm assuming this is a pure Adventure HO game.
FEATURES
- A diary. Documents your case findings, who you are searching for, etc.
GRAPHICS & VOICE-OVERS
- Graphics are still good, everything was clear. Nothing to be worried about.
- Voice-overs were your average ones. Nothing too special
STORYLINE
- Everywhere I looked, I saw simillarities. The whole mirror thing; simillar to Haunted Manor: Lord of Mirrors; collecting pieces of one object every time (the mirror shards); simillar to Dracula: Love Kills. The storyline was nothing special at best.
- The intro confused me. Are we helping the mirror get back what is theirs, or are we saving the person who was trapped in the mirror? I only found out after the intro. Bad move on the developer's part.
OTHER NOTES
- One thing that should be noted is that the game does need some form of Startegy Guide. It really should have been a Collector's Edition first, because I was relyng on the hint a little too much.
- There is no map, which is pretty much an esential to every game today.
So to sum it up: AWFUL. When you combine a bad story with bad HOS in a Hidden Object Game; You're gonna get a terrible finish.
I don't recommend this game.
