First of all, there is no option for Windowed mode or adjustments for screen resolution and the game didn't adjust to my large screen very well and partially chopped off the bottom graphics. Fortunately, the levels themselves were smaller and they were in the middle of the screen so it all worked out.
Secondly, there is no option to create profiles so you'll end up simply replaying the levels if you choose to replay the game. I do love the fact that you can select the replay button on any level at any point and it instantly resets the game without bothering you with an "are you sure you want to replay this level" scenario.
The goal is to push boulders, trash cans, and other various obstacles to create a path to allow the character to rescue a pet in need. Eventually, they add extra steps such as grabbing a key to open gates, etc.
Each level has a specified number of moves available, and I've discovered that you have to have at least 3 moves remaining in order to get all 3 stars. I replayed levels 9 and 15 several times and never could get more than 2 stars and for the life of me I can't figure out how to possibly get to the animals in fewer moves so it would be really nice to have some sort of Walkthrough Solution available...somewhere online!
If anyone has the solution, give a shout-out on my forum at thewoodsforum.boards.net

Roads of Rome is one of my Top 10 personal favorite Time Management games so without hesitation I purchased the CE version before playing the Demo, why wouldn't I, after all, it is an amazing series!
Unfortunately, the game wouldn't play, and by "wouldn't play" I literally mean it would not play! When I click the play button for this game on my Game Manager, my cursor point turns into an hourglass for a brief moment, I hear the "bloop" sound it always makes after clicking Play on any game in the Game Manager. But absolutely nothing happens after that! Everything goes back to normal as if I never clicked play, it doesn't even show up at the top of the game manager which is typical after playing a new game!
I have tried everything, including uninstalling & reinstalling several times. I have even tried emptying my Recycle Bin before reinstalling, and deleting my browser history, but nothing works!
I never gave up hope and I kept the game on my Game Manager so I could check for a Big Fish update to appear, it has not appeared :(
When the Standard Edition version was released today, I was convinced that it would be a different scenario, that the issue was just with the CE version. NOPE! It has the same exact issue :(
I don't normally write a complaint review only, but I've tried everything to get this game to work (or should I say games) and I'm desperate! My hope is that by explaining what is going on, this developer will send in an update patch, or contact me at The Woods Forum to try to solve this issue, otherwise, I may never be able to play this wonderful series again :(
Everyone is welcome to join the fun at my new Woodsy-themed forum. thewoodsforum.boards.net

The Snow Fable original received a 4.2 average rating with 52/64 reviewers' recommendations in 2013. Nearly a decade later you'd think they had plenty of time to create a masterpiece, and this game may very well be a masterpiece but most of us will never know because no one seems to be able to play the game!
I can tell you that there are 7 Chapters in the main Adventure. There are 4 Bonus Trials with 8 new levels that allow you to complete challenges from 4 different Islands. They also have an Infinity option that allows you to score as many points as possible while keeping the obstacles from filling the board (which sounds like a blast) This CE version has Bonus Adventure levels, Music Soundtracks, Achievements, and Wallpapers as well.
What I can't tell you is basically everything about the gameplay itself because it's so full of glitches that no one can play it! After completing the first level, the game just froze up and there were no tabs...none whatsoever...no X to exit the level, no Continue tab, no replay tab, no Next tab! I had to click Ctrl/Alt/Delete to bring up the task manager!
When I finally replayed the game, I had no clue what my score was for the 1st level, but I was able to click play which took me to a different level than I had played. When I completed this level, the same thing happened, the level goals were met, I completed the level, but it didn't congratulate me, offer a Next Level tab, or an exit tab so once again I had to bring up my task manager to bail on this game Again!
Looks like everyone had the same issues, if not more, so you have to ask yourself if Big Fish even bothers to play these games to vet them before offering them to the public???
There's never a glitch at my new forum! BECAUSE THE DEVELOPERS KEPT THE CE CONTENT A MYSTERY, I RECOMMEND THIS SE VERSION!

I'm really loving this series because it has everything I want in a Match 3 game. There are three difficulty mode options (Timeless, Limited Time, or Limited Moves) and it allows you to switch between them without having to start over! It has interesting features like shooting arrows around 90° angles, level layouts that have nooks & crannies versus a simplistic square board, challenging obstacles, and levels that can be replayed to increase your Star rating. I also think it's really cool that your goal is to climb the Tower of Wishes, level by level!
This is a challenging game but it never feels frustrating. Each level is chockfull of various obstacles and goals, such as making a specified amount of matches to unlock Gem Counters. Achilles Heel with only one weak point, or spreading fire to melt frozen tiles. You are required to make matches over all Green Cells and collect Star Essence Gems, many of which are hidden under mud-covered tiles or behind Fog, or Chained tiles.
My favorite obstacle in this series is the arrow shooters that are activated when you make an adjacent match, and usually involve a chain reaction of events where the first arrow hits the second arrow activator and so forth, until the arrows have traveled around the perimeter's edge until it hits the designated target, whatever that may be.
Large Matches reward you with Power-ups on the board that can be swapped to an adjacent cell, or double-clicked to detonate. A match 4 gives you Dynamite, Match 5 or a Match T or L shape rewards you with a large Bomb that has a huge explosion radius. You can also use the Bonus Power-ups at your discretion, but they will need to recharge after each use. The Hammer removes a single tile, the Shuffle bonus reshuffles all of the tiles on the board, and the Hint icon points to a viable move
I get that BF is running out of options since all of their HOPA developers are either from Russia or Ukraine, so they are making deals with casual game developers to make CE versions. I'm okay with a Match 3 Collector's Edition but I'm not okay with spending twice as much money for mystery content! All of the CE version's extra features don't allow you access to the content until you've finished 30 main levels!
There's no way you can finish 30 levels in the demo, so they ask you to take a leap of faith and trust that the CE version is worth the extra money! The synopsis says "66 extra levels of puzzle fun!" does that mean there are 66 bonus Match 3 levels or does the "66 extra levels of puzzle fun" include the featured Pipe Connection puzzles & the Slider Puzzles?
The synopsis for the CE version also says "Even more bonus mini-games!" does this refer to the Solitaire games, Hidden Object Scenes, and Spot the Differences mini-games you play after a few Match 3 levels, or are they referring to the CE Pipe Connection & Slider Puzzles features? Both versions have 14 Achievements and the CE version has Wallpapers as well. How many wallpapers do we get in total in the CE version? What do they look like?
Why is the CE version's content so mysterious and secretive? Wouldn't more people be leery and less apt to purchase a CE with unknown bonus content than those unwilling to purchase the CE because they weren't impressed with the CE content? Because the developers kept the CE version's content a secret, I am recommending this Standard Edition version which is just as much fun at half the price!...my only complaint is that the tutorial is way too intrusive and gets rather annoying after the 3rd or 4th popup window!
After reading that last paragraph you're probably just as confused as I am, but taking a hike to my new forum is never confusing! Chat about the game or chat with fellow game fans, and maybe even reconnect with long-lost fishies from the Big Fish Forum days. Come as you are and chillax for a bit by the campfire, there's always an endless supply of smores! Completed Game approximately 5.0 hours (including completion of all mini-games & CE Bonus Chapter) 28 Scene Locations +12 CE Bonus Chapter Difficulty Range: Beginner-Intermediate
Friendly Fox is the only developer to realize that HOPA fans can't "bear" playing the games offered lately. They have become repetitive and ridiculously easy, you can't tell the difference from one series to the next, that's how bad it has gotten lately! I'd rather replay an older game that has been remastered, than any game offered in any of the newer series...because this game has Backbone! The developers have done an amazing job with the Remaster, it takes me back to the days when almost every HOPA was a gem, it takes me back to a time when we used to look forward to new releases!
Collectibles/Morphing Objects: (CE version only) There are 76 Opaque Sprites (2 per scene) which unlocks 5 Sprites in the Extra's Menu (5-14-30-55-76)
There are 34 Morphing Runes and a pull-out tab on the left side to keep track of the collectibles available or found.
Gadget/Helper: There is no helper but there is a gadgety Book that progresses the story via a Hidden Object Puzzle. Each chapter requires finding & placing an emblem to unlock the next series of HO & story progression.
Hidden Object Scenes: There are 31 Hidden Object Scenes in the main game +8 in the CE Bonus Chapter, including the Book HO's and several smaller zoom zone HOs. Most of the HOs are Interactive List Finds, but they also have Progressive-Interactive Silhouetted Shape Finds, Find & Replace, and Interactive Silhouetted Shape Finds. Several; of the scenes are repeated but it is always with a different HO variation.
Mini-Games: There are 31 Mini-Games +12 in the CE Bonus Chapter. Obviously, they are not new puzzles, but most of them are very enjoyable, many of which haven't been offered in quite some time!
Bonus Chapter: (CE version only) Play as Goldilock's son trying to stop the alchemist in a prequel. The BC spans 12 additional scene locations with 12 mini-games and 10 Hidden Object Scenes. You will complete your Opaque Sprite Collection but there are no Morphing Objects (remaining :(
Collector's Edition Version Extra's: 7 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art Pictures, 5 Screensavers, 5 Music Soundtracks, 30 Movie Video Cutscenes, 29 Achievements, 15 Replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 18 Replayable Mini-Games, 76 Opaque Sprites that unlock 5 Sprites, 34 Morphing Objects, 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a Built-In Strategy Guide.

I wasn't able to play the last two games because it didn't adjust to fit my 38" curved Alienware monitor and most of the icons for the various features were cut off at the bottom of the screen. The devs must have made an adjustment because this one finally worked perfectly! I wish BF would allow you to give half stars because honestly, I'd give this game 3.5 stars. It's a decent Match 3 game but it's really no different than the other games, therefore I don't see a need to purchase another.
For those who are looking for a decent story, the Match 3 games by this developer seem to have that down pat. The Match 3 game itself is a non-stressful, relaxing game, even when playing on the Timed Mode. The music is light-hearted and upbeat, with tiles that are large enough to see, even when they are covered by obstacles.
As you progress, random Powerups become available, two of which are offered on each level. They have added Bonus Powerups that appear on the board as well, a Match 5 adds a Medium Bomb that clears 8 Tiles, and a Match 7 adds a Massive Bomb that clears a whopping 20 Tiles. The only downfall is that you have to double-click the bomb where it sits, it doesn't let you swipe the bomb directionally before it detonates.
-Dagger: removes 5 horizontal Tiles -Pirate's Hook: removes a single Tile or Chain -Small Axe: clears a 2x2 Area -Catherine's Pistol: removes 5 Vertical Tiles -Trident: clears an entire Vertical Column -Cutlass: clears an entire Horizontal Row
A few of the levels require you to drop Amulets off the board but most of the levels simply require you to make matches over all grey cells and clear a specified number of a specified tile. The only obstacles they really have are Vines and Spider Webs, they have a ton of Wooden Crates as well. The weirdest part is that none of the wooden crates have hidden grey cells under them, and about 50% of the vines & spiderweb covered icons are just there for appearance because there is no benefit to match them, they aren't blocking anything, and there are no grey cells under them...this is one of the biggest reasons these games are so easy to master!

It does take a bit of practice to catch on to this unique game because as far as I'm concerned there hasn't been a Match 3 game with this type of mechanics before. Different doesn't have to be scary and once you catch on it becomes quite entertaining (the storyline is beside the point lol)
You can play in a Relaxed Mode, or choose to play in Limited Moves, or Limited Time Modes of difficulty. You will earn one Star when you complete the level, the other two Stars must be earned by making adjacent matches on the "open" side of the other two Star Icons located randomly on the boards. (FYI: you do not have to create a path to the Star Icons)
If you earn all 3 stars you will receive a random Powerup Bonus at the end of the level. Large Matches will also reward you with a Morphing Powerup on the board:
-Bomb: destroys all icons on the same Column & Row. -Dynamite: destroys adjacent icons -Tile Target: destroys a single icon that can be placed on the tile of your choice
The goal of each level is to create a path between Tim the cat and the Fish Icons by making adjacent matches. Naturally, Obstacles stand between Tim & the Fish and this is where the fun begins!
Here are a few of the Obstacles: -Crates: destroy with a single adjacent match -Stone Blocks: requires making adjacent matches next to Magnets or Air Horns until their meter is full (magnets & horns are directional in the case of multiple Stones) -Water Tiles: Tim cannot walk on water, find an alternate route! -Electric Flow: disable the electrical current by pushing stone blocks -Floor Spikes: activate Levers to lower spikes with an adjacent match -Violet Road: turns into water tiles when Tim leaves them.
Coins or points collected during the match 3 games can be used to decorate Tim's Hideaway and each purchase has a different ability that will help Tim during the Battle Modes. Items can be placed wherever you desire at any time! There are several available styles to choose from as well.

Rescue Team has always been one of my Time Management favorites, but lately, these games have been frustratingly difficult. I just now got around to playing Heist of the Century and found it to be much more enjoyable and easier to earn Gold. This is a Goldilocks kind of game, not too hard, not too soft, it fits right in the middle sweet spot! With that being said, you will still have to queue tasks in a specific order, if you don't, the chances are extremely high that you'll become hopelessly stuck and unable to gather the correct resources to continue and you'll have to replay the level! I highly recommend the CE version because you will definitely want the Strategy Guide!
You can play in a Relaxed Untimed Mode, an Easy Mode that gives you more time, or an expert Hard Mode of difficulty. When you earn all 3 Stars, you will receive 3 Gold Coins to purchase Bonuses in the Shop in 4 different categories:
Swift As The Wind -Boots: speeds up workers -Helmet: speeds up construction -Vest: speeds up cleaning and debris removal -Gloves: speeds up the flame thrower First Aid -Heater: slows down freezing -Fire Extinguisher: slows the spread of fire -First Aid Kit: speeds the Dolphin rescue -Turbo Pump: speeds water purification Turbo -Speedometer: speeds up machinery -Flashing Light: speeds up all first responders -Collar: speeds up the dog search & rescue -Protective Mask: speeds up the biologist 911 -Hose: speeds fire suppression -Handcuffs: speeds in the arrest of marauders -Stethoscope: speeds healing -Sprayer: speeds chemical processing
Unlike most TM games, Rescue Team games are unique because you aren't following a path for the sole purpose of gathering resources The goal is to rescue citizens after a natural or man-made disaster so each type of rescue is unique and usually calls for a series of steps to complete the level goals. For example, you may have to Rebuild a Lab for Dr. Ross to deploy Rescue Bots to repair Warning Systems, after acquiring Energy Capsules. In the next level, you may have to repair Stores before being able to purchase First Aid Kits for trapped citizens, or repair Garages to access ATVs to rescue people who are trapped in pits! My favorite rescuers are Larry & Barry, two adorable Saint Bernards!
People aren't the only ones that need to be rescued, you will be tasked with rescuing cats, dogs, and other trapped or endangered animals too, which always gives this game the awe factor ;) The developers cram lots of different equipment into each level, depending on the terrain, such as cranes, boats, lifts, helicopters, generators, etc.. they even have trained rescue dolphins so there's never a dull moment!
You will be tasked with repairing houses to earn rent money, Sawmills to provide lumber, Burger Joints for food, Stores for purchasing supplies, Hospitals to provide doctors, pet facilities, Gas Stations, and Garages. Paths need to be cleared of sand, boulders, fallen trees, and various other debris kicked up by storms, hurricanes, and tornadoes, as well as repairing cracks, powerlines, and bridges. Bonus Chips can be collected on most levels to temporarily boost the speed of rescuers, boost equipment capabilities or increase production. I love that the Bonus Chips make a little jingle noise when they become available each time.
The CE version has 50 Main Levels, 15 Bonus Levels, 7 Encyclopedias, 34 Stickers to collect, 16 Character Bios, 8 Concept Art Sketches, 13 Music Soundtracks, 54 Achievements, and a Walkthrough Strategy Guide.
