Mary and her daughter Jane are at the Deja View theater enjoying an oldie but goodie movie, they've seen it several times but this time it's different. They certainly don't remember spears missing the actor much less coming through the screen! Chaos ensues and the entire theater comes to jungle life, the plants and animals are literally leaping onto the stage and that's just the Surface folks, there's lot's more to come! Turns out that Mary and the star of this film, Andrew Light, were an item back in the day, that is until tragedy struck..........As usual in the Surface games there are hidden Wallflowers to collect and when you collect enough Wallflowers they can be used to view a bonus film, you need to collect 30/80/120 to view sections of the film. Another unique feature Surface games have is with the hidden object scenes. Some of the inventory items you collect will be used within the hidden object scene so don't forget to toggle back and forth between the inventory bar and the list bar. I absolutely loved the King Kong Pinball mini game! You had to adjust flippers to allow the pinball to ricochet off each other, you also had to adjust planes and flowers and even King Kongs arm, fantastic mini game, very entertaining. I know I have just skimmed the Surface on this game, it's definitely one of the top 10 games of the year so far, enjoy!

I had forgotten just how awesome this game is, I played this game in it's entirety when it was first released in 2011. It is still one of the best Hidden Object Games in 2014! Sam Wilder is a journalist that has been investigating the disappearance of several young kids in the neighborhood as his latest assignment. He quickly makes the connection that a mental health patient on the lam is the prime suspect of these disappearances. The man Sam believes is responsible suffers from Dorian Gray Syndrome, he was abused by his father as a boy and as a result has been obsessed with his lost youth, obsessed with aging and obsessed with the anti-hero Dorian Gray. Things take an unexpected turn when Sam is lured into a huge mansion with explicit orders to arrive alone and alert nobody, if he wants to see his love Anna alive! Fantastic story, fantastic game right? The mansion is full of locked doors, secret hiding places and obstacles to overcome, but most of all the rooms are full of cameras and speakers watching Sam's every move and staying one step ahead. The killer taunts Sam as he appears and disappears hidden behind a strange mask. There are dead people everywhere posed as works of art, is Anna still alive? There aren't a whole lot of HOS but they are very well done with several items requiring some type of interaction. I loved the mini games, such as figuring out the safe combination that the killer tells you is +11/-3/+8 and I'll leave it up to you to figure out. This Collectors Edition includes a bonus game, concept art, strategy guide and an interview with the developers, enjoy!

I loved the recent release of Botanica: Earthbound so much that I had to give the original game a try and I love this game too! Dr. Wright was a renowned scientist, by this I mean he had quite a reputation for his beliefs of a strange "other" world. His students and colleagues never took him seriously and referred to him as crazy Dr. Wright. His daughter Ellie loved to listen to his theories as a young girl and is now a scientist herself, a Botanist. She was exploring a cave with strange but beautiful flora and managed to open a portal, the same portal that her father entered, never to return! Now you will investigate and explore this strange but beautiful planet and discover your fathers diary. Is he still alive? Is he still in Botanica or has he been captured by Botanicas leader, Queen Kassandra who forbids any talk of Earth? I really like the originality of this story! In the Collectors Edition there is an available bonus game where you can explore more of Botanica as a different character. It also has Wallpapers, Cutscenes, Soundtracks, Concept Art and of course a built in Strategy Guide. There are also achievements to earn and hidden ladybugs to collect. Personally I think this is a better value unless you just gotta look for hidden ladybugs! Ellie has brought along her botany kit which is actually a mini game where you examine flowers and separate the petals in different categories such as spotted petals, or striped petals etc. The mini games are fairly easy such as clicking on pollen spores in the correct order by process of elimination. I liked the game that required you to turn an outer, inner and center disc until each pie shape had two different colors that when mixed together would have the matching color as indicated on each pie shape such as yellow and blue would be the correct colors for the green pie shape. The hidden object scenes are far and few between, but worth the wait, because every item requires an interaction of some kind like finding a pencil sharpener and sharpening a pencil in order to complete a sketch of the sun. This is a great game, and I realize that it's an older game when you see the differences of the graphics alone, enjoy!

I actually played the second game in this series first, Botanica: Earthbound. I loved that game so much that I had to go back to where it all began, and I love this game too! His students and colleagues never took him seriously and referred to him as crazy Dr. Wright. This Collectors Edition has an available bonus game where you can explore more of Botanica as a different character. It also has Wallpapers, Cutscenes, Soundtracks (the music is very soothing) Concept Art and of course a built in Strategy Guide. There are also achievements to earn and hidden ladybugs to collect. I stopped playing this game on the fourth scene to get my video camera/phone so I could take some amazing video of my cat trying desperately to "catch" the beavershark that was swimming shark style in a vat of water on the bottom section of my computer. There were also hanging mice hooks that he would try to catch at the top of the screen and when the beavershark would dive under the water my cat would try to reach under the monitor to catch him! I play hundreds of games and none have fascinated him this much and certainly not for 15 minutes. As for the actual people version of this game let me state that the graphics are superb, they are crystal clear, and crisp, I haven't seen graphics this well done in a long time! The instructions however are very minimal and the only bail out you can hope for is the 4 stage hint button. Even the hint button isn't that great, it shows you step 1-4 as a simple sketch and if you already figured out step 1-2 you still have to see these steps in sequence. The first scene is soooo confusing trying to figure out what to do with the paper clip, so I used the hints to figure out that I needed to put the paperclip between the broken wires to short them out to cause a fire which would allow Violet to escape. Now on to the second scene, I have the hang of this game surely, nope not at all! Try as I may I couldn't get that bottle to tip and almost gave up. Again the hint button and I knew I was on the right path so I tried again this time holding on to the spoon longer, tipped the bottle and then figured out I had to tip the bottle and click on the biting fish at lightning speed. Scene three was even more confusing, nothing but a room full of staircases and doors that lead to another door on the other side! There are a bunch of hidden compartments with colored pearls and one with a ring. By this time I figured out that each scene has several pearls to collect and some of the items you click on go into your inventory bag. By the time I got to the fourth scene I realized that the game isn't going to get any more exciting and if I constantly have to use the hint button to figure out what to do next, or, fry my brain trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do, then in my opinion it's just not worth it! I take that back, my cat was thoroughly entertained and I was thoroughly entertained watching him:)

Great solitaire game, I wish the cards had better graphics. There are three different card styles to chose from for both the front and back of the cards. You then choose either Hollow Spirit or Merimas Brownlock to guide you. They gather hearts during the game and when fully charged they have the ability to remove one card. Before the start of each level you are given goals to achieve such as making a combo, filling the dragon bar or earning 5 stars. There are bonus cards available, bag of gold, jester wild card, swords, axes etc. There is also a Dragon card which will set a card on fire and that card can't be used until the fire goes out. There are achievements to earn and the gold you earn can be spent in the store to purchase bonus cards, axes, swords, spells, potions and even an extra undo card. Some of the cards will be blocked by locks until you get the key card, vines until you get a sword card, some blocked by ice until you get an axe, and even stone until you get a mace card. To play this game you simply use cards from the board to play a card higher or a card lower onto the foundation card until all the cards on the board have been used. If you cannot use any cards on the board you must draw another card on deck. You can play this game in casual, normal or hard settings and there are mini games available of Freeplay, TriPeaks. and Random games as well, enjoy!

I can say with faith that I fear this game isn't much fun. The reason is because the graphics are so poor that finding the items becomes frustrating thus no fun. I didn't even finish the demo in all honesty. You are given a single item to find at a time such as a letter, then a robe then a bag etc. Once you find all of those items you play a mini game in which you must fit several items into the bag by placing the items in a grid formation. If the item fits into the space you chose the cells would turn green if it doesn't fit the cells are red and I was surprised by the size of many items such as a wooden spoon (why does he pack a spoon in the first place) the spoon took up two squares deep by several long when it would seem the spoon would only take up a single cell depth. Then you "search" the desk which is a Hidden Object Game. This was really difficult due to the even poorer graphics than the game itself. Finding 4 elements is not easy when you can barely tell what the items are, to make matters worse I kept searching for a rack which turned out to be a brick! I just can't recommend this game, I didn't enjoy this game at all, sorry.
Under the protection of the gods lies a proud Roman city! Construct monuments, collect resources and use your match-3 skills to diffuse the war between Jupiter, Juno, Neptune and Mars!

I agree with my fellow reviewer, dachsy, this game is very similar to the Cradle Of Rome series, mostly because of the almost identical patterns of the boards. However the Cradle series is one of my all time favorites I have played all of the games in that series hundreds of times (that makes me seem lazy when I put it in writing!) and they are a very entertaining and challenging match 3 games, I just didn't have that same "GOT TO PLAY JUST ONE MORE LEVEL" feeling with this game. There are the usual blocks and goals and other than the rocket booms nothing else seems new in my opinion. The idea of this game is to make matches of three or more to collect resources to build a Roman city and allow the citizens to thrive and prosper (and appease the Gods!) You can earn trophies and if you complete the mini games in time you receive a discount on construction. This isn't a bad match 3 game, but it's a game that you'll either love or hate unfortunately, enjoy!

I absolutely loved this match 3 game although I will admit it's a really easy game. A calamity has occurred, an evil sorcerer has sucked the magic out of the kingdom leaving the air polluted and as a result the fairies are ill and motionless! The object of each level is to "free" a certain number of fairies by making matches of whatever gems are shown under the bubbles with the trapped fairy. There are 3 different types of matches you can choose at the start of each level. The first is the classic swapping of tiles to make a match of 3 or more. The second method is making a chain of 3 or more by clicking and dragging adjacent tiles. The third method is clicking on groups of 3 or more. The level is completed by making matches over all yellow cells on the board. Each level will have different colored pearls that can be used as bonuses by making matches under the pearls until they fall off the bottom of the board. The white pearl represents the Wind Fairy which will clear a single cell. The red pearl represents the Fire Fairy which replaces all of the objects on the cells with different gems. The purple pearl represents the Lightning Fairy which zaps several random cells at once. The green pearl represents the Clover Fairy which tosses several explosive clovers onto the board. If you match 5 or more purple gems, a bomb will appear on the board and can be used anytime. There will also be the normal blocked tiles such as stone tiles which need several matches or a bonus bomb etc. to clear. If you don't like fantasy themed games, pass on this one because it's all about the bright colors and fluttering fairies, otherwise enjoy!

Northern Tales 3 is one of the most entertaining Time Management game out there. I love the different ideas the developers come up with in each game, in this game we are able to hitch a ride on eagles to soar to the top of mountains and gather the resources available there. This game has 3 available modes to choose, Normal, Multi Click, (let's you multi-task Vikings) and No Timer. You also have the option of turning off the characters voices if the repetitiveness bothers you but quite honestly it isn't annoying in my opinion. There are 45 levels in different terrain such as snowy landscapes or volcanic landscape to break up the monotony and a fun fact about Vikings is displayed before each new game. The goal of this TM game is to gather resources needed such as gold or food, and to clear the paths and repair bridges in order to reach other resources. You can rebuild farms to produce food, mines to collect gold or even upgrade the Viking base camp to support more Viking workers. There are specific goals to reach in each level and these goals must be met within a set time in order to achieve all 3 stars, but you can replay the level as many times as you want. Each level has a bonus bar at the bottom and you want to use the bonuses as soon as they are ready, such as Freezing time, Extra Resources, Extra Viking worker (20 seconds) and my favorite, Faster Vikings. The graphics are very well done, the goals aren't frustrating, and there is some strategy that needs to be applied which keeps the game entertaining, enjoy!
