Humanity no longer gives much credence to the prophecy foretold by their ancestors, in this post apocalyptic era. The world is different now. For hundreds of years now, humans have lived beside elves, in a world that is quickly dying. Both human and elven tribes have heard the Prophecy that a champion from the human world will enter the Forbidden Zone and retrieve the Nucleus that will heal the world. Humankind and elves have shared the same ill fates for hundred of years now, but will the Nucleus heal the fractured world that mankind destroyed? Is the Nucleus responsible for the ill fates of this post apocalyptic generation? Is the world ready for the Dawn of Hope?
MAD HEAD games has done it again! It seem that this dev has been doing some thinking outside the box again, like 24/7 thinking, like professional thinking, their thinking is thinking. What I think I'm trying to get across, is that once again Mad Head has presented us with another game that has an original storyline, one that is fresh and holds your attention. Lately it seems that the demo of most games are difficult to get through because they simply don't hold your attention, and there's no cliff hangers at the end of the demo to make you want to download the rest of the game. Not so with Dawn of Hope, which admittedly has a couple of slow parts in the demo, but the demo ends so well that it would be difficult NOT to download the game to see what happens next!
You don't get a fuzzy sidekick, and you certainly don't get a fancy electronic tablet or smartphone because in this world, electronics are worthless, unless they can be repurposed for survival. You do eventually get a makeshift tool that takes 2 common items and combines them to make a useful tool such as your grappling hook, after playing a Mini Game of course. In the Collector's Edition, most of the scenes have a hidden Elven Fairy to collect, a handful of Achievements to earn, and a Morphing Object within the HOP's.
The Hidden Object Scenes are a wee bit disappointing, because usually this dev incorporates unusual themes within unusual scene locations. Most of the HOP's are interactive list finds but there are variations such as Spot the Difference, finding recipe items, finding items with a beam of light and finding items that match a black and white photo.
The Mini Games are fairly easy for the most part. Below are brief descriptions of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Each time you use your grappling hook, you will play a few interactive mini games where you throw the hook at targets specified, or stop the targets when they are in the green zone of the meter.
2) Place ropes in the correct order using the existing pattern as a guide.
3) Match 3 variation game removing all runes by swapping runes strategically so no rune remains on the board.
4) Blocks variation where you select and move obstacles to clear a path for the trolley.
5) Select radio knobs to arrange notes according to the picture shown.
6) Move the doors and rotate or slide tiles to complete the images.
The Collector's Edition has 16 Wallpapers, 10 Music Soundtracks, 14 Achievements, 18 Hidden Object scenes, a Collectible Hunt game, replayable Rune Games, Jigsaw Puzzles, a Character Gallery, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy the game before the world stops spinning!
I recommend this game!

There has been a murder committed at the Oldgrey Manor and the Minister of Interior has asked you to investigate.
Why just one sentence? Because this game is completely and utterly boring. This game has nothing new to offer, it's the same as hundreds of other games available. The graphics are typical ERS hand drawn graphics, dark scenes, large manors, iron gates, locked doors, fireplaces burning, everything looks the same as all the other ERS games, same furniture, same time frame, same clothing styles, same dark ages, stuck in time era. To make matters worse, some of the characters are made to look like incompetent idiots, one officer is holding a live electrical wire and says "would you look at this" The father, Robert gets offended when you question him about nut shells on the floor, because he feels it's perfectly normal to throw them on the floor if he own the house. The chief of police panics when he hears commotion coming from a room with a locked door but can't figure out how to get get to them. After playing the demo, I've come to the conclusion that this murder is not worth solving.
The storyline is always the same, you are a detective investigating a murder again, and you do very little investigating because you're too busy finding and mixing medical concoctions, and fixing broken and missing locks on every single door and gate in the manor, not to mention numerous trinkets, picture frames, first aid kits, ponds and boxes. How the family members survive without you is a mystery to me!
There are two features in this game (and all other games ERS offers) that I absolutely despise. First of all, I have to play their games in a small windowed mode, because the game is so stretched on my large monitor that I cannot see important features on either side, including the options menu which I can only see the first couple of letters. Even in the HOP's there are often items on my list located on the edges that I would never find unless I shrink the screen size. I have mentioned this every time I beta test these games, but it never gets resolved. Secondly, the Hidden Object Scenes are always repeated at least once, and sometimes twice in the same place which is so boring, I wish there was an option to skip the HOP's!
The Hidden Object Scenes are all the same, and probably always will be slightly Interactive List finds. There is usually a small puzzle available to solve to receive the final inventory item. They are so predictable, that I can find most of the items without even looking at the list! Once again, you will have to revisit the HOP scene at least once, which make the HOP's in this game even more boring.
The Mini Games are nearly the same in every Haunted Legends game. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Select lock pins in the correct order by trial and error.
2) Move the light projections to match the symbol on the stone.
3) Recreate the image by selecting and dragging puzzle slrips.
4) Fix a torn photo by correctly placing torn fragments.
5) Select gears in the correct order by trial and error.
6) Rotate tokens so that all symbols line up.
This Collector's Edition has 16 replayable Mini Games, 23 Hidden Object Scenes, 9 Movies, 4 Music Soundtracks, 5 Screensavers, Concept Art pictures, Wallpapers, 11 Achievements to earn, 12 Collectible Skulls, Weather Stone collectibles (5 burning suns, 5 rain clouds, 5 snowflake symbols) a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter.
I don't recommend this game.

After the death of Jane Bennet's father, Queen Elizabeth treated her like a daughter. Jane is now the Queen's personal assistant, and most trusted confidant and has been given a treacherous assignment to save the Queen's honor. Witch hunters have given the Queen just three days to reveal her true identity, believing she, like her mother before her, is a Queen of Witches rather than a Queen of the people! Queen Elizabeth has been granted a mere three days to get her affairs in order before being dethroned!
Jane must travel quickly and discreetly in order to reach the Port. Her mission is to set sail and cross the English borders to procure proof of the Queen's innocence and procure much needed security.
Jane's mission becomes way more interesting once she makes it to the Royal ship, Olivia, and meets Captain Louis. The Captain is just as handsome as he is charming, and proves himself to be invaluable on this important journey, after all, Jane is wearing a dress, lol.
The graphics are stunning, I especially loved the details that made everything very realistic, the characters are lifelike, even the animals are realistic, and the characters and animals move realistically, not awkward or jilted which is something I really dislike. I'd rather everyone stay stationary then move sideways, or they don't bend their knees and they glide forward instead ow walking. In the Collector's Edition version, there are several gold coins to collect that can be used to upgrade the interface of the main screen, as well as the usual Achievements to earn and Morphing Objects, another one of my favorite, must have features.
The Hidden Object Scenes are varied with several different styles such as Silhouetted Shape finds, Interactive Listed item finds, and even Multiples of the same item finds. Many of the HOP's have small puzzles to solve or require you to find a handful of the same items which then give you two items to use in order to open up the two blocked lists such as a brush to wipe away the dirt that's covering the tile.
The Mini games I found to be entertaining, some are super easy, others can be a bit frustrating but there's a good mixture of both kinds. Below are brief descriptions of some of the puzzles you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Move the rose along every line to the empty circle. Select the rose and then select one of the green highlighted slots to move the rose to, passing along each line only once.
2) Arrange the statues to form the complete symbol between them, statues will glow if correctly placed.
3) Arrange the triangles beneath the correct gemstones by swapping along tracks.
4) Match the charms with the correct keys.
5) Move the tokens to their matching colored tiles. Select and drag a token to create a path that doesn't intersect other paths.
6) Find matching pairs of branches that aren't blocked.
7) Assemble a crossbow by placing parts correctly.
8) Rotate the triangles so that all of the small squares have identical symbols.
9) Throw the axe at the sack with the animal shown in the red circle.
10) Assemble map fragments.
11) Guide your horse to the port by selecting right and left hand icons to avoid obstacles.
12) Aim and shoot the number of colored balls indicated on the top, shooting one ball may change the color of other balls.
The Collector's Edition has Collectible Golden Coins to purchase different interface styles and colors, 39 Morphing Objects, 14 Achievements, VG Team pictures, 9 Music Soundtracks, 13 Wallpapers, 12 Concept Art pictures, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

On the first year of Christmas Stories, my Big Fish gave to me, The Nutcracker in a CE. On the second year of Christmas Stories, my Big Fish gave to me, A Christmas Carol in a CE. On the third year of Christmas Stories, my Big Fish gave to me, Hans Christian Andersen's Tin Soldier in a CE. On the fourth year of Christmas Stories, my Big Fish gave to me, Puss in Boots in a CE. This year the fifth year, my Big Fish gave to me, The Gift of the Magi in a CE! ....FIVE GOLDEN STARS.... four falling stars, three can't win, two just won't do, and one star goes on top of my tree!
Christmas just isn't Christmas until Santa delivers a new Christmas Stories game on his sleigh led by Rudolph the Big Eared Elephant! The Gift of the Magi is another brilliant game adaptation that will assuredly get you in a Holly Jolly mood just in time for Christmas. Although this is a beautiful, whimsical Christmas Stories addition to the series, none of these games can hold a candle to the original, Christmas Stories: Nutcracker, but that's just my opinion. I also BELIEVE that the Nutcracker has more intense graphics than any of the others in this series.
We can't deliver all this magic by ourselves folks, so Goody the Elf has agreed to lend his tiny hands so that Oliver can fill the Snowball of Good Deeds and save his sister Wendy. It looks like Wendy's actions put her on the naughty list, which summoned Berta, the evil spirit who punishes naughty kids! If not for the help of Jack Frost himself, Oliver may never have seen his sister again, so Jack has frozen time for a while, to give Oliver time to create Christmas miracles!
I was a bit disappointed with the CE bling in this game, there aren't any hidden gift boxes to discover, collectible Santa's or Snowmen, no hidden Mistletoe. The possibilities are endless in a Christmas game like this, but instead, the devs chose 14 Morphing Christmas Gnomes, which aren't very appealing to Puss in Boot. There are also 36 Collectible Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces available, that will allow you to assemble three different puzzles and use as Screensavers, Bah Humbug!
The Hidden Object Scenes are just okay, neither bad nor epic, but at least they are all Christmas Themed. In the demo itself, there are Interactive List finds, and a scene where you open up two christmas presents at a time as you search for Matching Pairs.
The Mini Games are exact;y what you'd expect in a Christmas themed game. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Swap berries on gingerbread men to reflect the same colored berry as on their bellies.
2) Use the clue to put the Santa and children behind the correct color coded gift bags.
3) Restore the photo by correctly placing the torn fragments into the frame.
4) Untangle the string of lights. (or just throw them away because nobody has the patience to untangle the Xmas lights!)
This Collector's Edition has 5 Music Soundtracks, a Secret Room, 11 replayable Mini Games, 13 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 14 Morphing Santa Gnomes, 36 Hidden Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces, 3 Screensavers, 14 Concept Art pictures, 14 Wallpapers, 22 Achievements, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, ho ho ho, enjoy!

Zeus is gone! Someone has kidnapped the mighty god of sky and thunder, they didn't even allow him to put his shoes on, poor guy. With siblings like Poseidon, and Hades, kidnapping the king of gods probably wasn't a wise decision. Whoever is responsible, probably didn't know they would be facing the big guy himself, one of the most beloved gods of Mount Olympus, Hercules, the son of Zeus himself! Rut Row! Now Hercules and his wife Megara must journey through Volcanoes, the brutal Winter, the Tropics and even Underwater to find Zeus, question is, does this count as one of the 12 Labours Hercules must endure?
There are three different modes of difficulty, Relaxed, Casual and expert, and every level that is completed within Gold Time (3 stars) will reveal a part of the ancient underwater castle. Each level has a puzzle piece to find which looks like an ancient rune tile, I always look for the puzzle piece before clicking on anything which starts the game, that way I don't forget about the puzzle piece or waste time searching for it. You can then assemble each jigsaw puzzle once all pieces have been found, and I'm assuming the finished puzzle can be set as a wallpaper. You can replay any of the levels to try to get a better score or if you forgot the puzzle piece.
There are several Achievements or Trophies to earn for tasks such as collecting a resource after completing the level tasks, completing the level without using bonuses or finding 10 puzzle pieces. (I counted 23 total spread throughout the levels) As you progress, different bonuses are made available that can be used each time the meter refills, such as more Resources, or Faster workers, but the effects are only temporary.
There are the usual tasks of building and upgrading farms, sawmills, goldmines, and even outposts that house workers that are far from home, clearing and repairing paths, and collecting food. Each task requires a certain amount of resources to complete and when you scan over a task, the requirements needed are shown as well as the resources you are lacking to complete the task. You can click on several tasks to have the workers complete, a checkmark will appear on the item for every available worker, and flags will queue the rest in numerical order until a worker is free. In Relaxed and Casual modes, the tasks available are circled in green, yellow indicates you will be able to complete the task once the resources collected are delivered to the base camp, red indicates the item is either blocked or you don't have enough available resources. Hercules is the go to guy for removing things no mere mortal could accomplish, and there's always an abundance of boulders and landslides in every game of the 12 Labours series.
The Collector's Edition has 9 Wallpapers, 23 (to the best of my knowledge) Trophies or Achievements to earn, (which can be viewed on the level map) Collectible Puzzle Pieces, Puzzles to complete once all the pieces have been collected, a Strategy Guide, 5 Bonus levels and a Super Bonus Level. Personally, I don't see the need for a SG, and I don't care about cartoonish style wallpapers, and this Standard Edition version has plenty enough levels, making this version at this price point the better choice, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

I actually wasn't diggin' this game when I first started playing it, but after a few boring levels, things got interesting. The boards became trickier and the goals became nail biting clever, so kudo's Jewel Quest, for keeping my interest throughout the demo so much so that I have to have this game!
One of the features that turned me off in the beginning was that the tiles and jewels were huge, but after a few levels that didn't seem to bother me as much because I was busy trying to complete the level goals, which ain't easy folks. Keep in mind that a Match 4 will earn you a Ship's Wheel, and a Match 5 will earn you a Gold Coin. The Ship's wheel can be guided in any direction to wipe out all jewels and turn the cells into gold. If you direct the Ship's Wheel towards a Gold Coin, you receive a Midas Touch bonus which can be used to take out a jewel of your choice. (they do not carry over so you may as well use 'em)
Now, this all sounds very basic and somewhat boring in of itself, but, then come some rather odd features. You may have to Ring a specific amount of Bells that are strategically placed by directing the Ship's Wheel towards it, which means you have to make match 4's strategically. To make things interesting, you may have to turn all tile cells gold, and complete these goals within a limited amount of time or a limited amount of moves, which at least gives you time to plan your moves.
Just when I got into the groove, the Void Spaces were introduced that sucks and jewel you feed it into oblivion, AND counts as a move! This all happens within the demo and I can't wait to find out what's next in this very clever and entertaining Match 3 game, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

This is one of the most unique games I have ever played, everything about this game is different. Adam Wolfe is a Detective of the supernatural on a never ending quest to find his sister Allie who disappeared under supernatural circumstances. In this demo, you can choose to play any of four cases, The Ancient Flame, The Devil You Know, Lady And The Painter and Zero Hour. I chose to play the first case so my review is based upon the case, The Ancient Flame.

The Ancient Flame:
The city has been plagued by strange fire breakouts, and people are disappearing. The SFPD is baffled so they have asked for Adam to help them with this arson case. As I mentioned before, everything about this game is different, for starters, the entire game is narrated by Adam, what his thoughts are, what he sees and even where he needs to go next and what he needs to do to get there. Adam has a friend named Marv that works for the department so Marv is the go to guy when Adam needs help with forensics and various information to help him solve the case.

There are several "tools" available which is another really cool and unusual feature. For starters you have a Smartphone that allows you to take pictures and send them to Marv, such as fingerprints, you can make and receive phone calls, and you can access the phones GPS system as your map. Naturally, you have a revolver and the gun icon flashes whenever you need to use your gun. There is an Intense Focus tool that helps you concentrate on a scene, the room will darken and you will need to find items that are out of place by searching for blue outlined objects. Eventually you will receive a Watch that has a supernatural ability to see the past. When you set the watch to the time you want to visit, you get to see events taking place at that particular time, which also reveal clues on the case.

There are Mini Games to solve as well, again they are tasks that help you solve the case, not just open a complicated lock or fix broken pipes. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:

1) Arrange the clues in a logical order.

2) Take items that are out of place in a picture and place them where they belong.

3) Assemble two torn newspaper articles.
This game is certainly different, it may not appeal to everyone, but for me, It's a game where the devs were thinking outside of the box and I loved it, enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Evan and Melissa were deeply in love, their wedding was perfect, their lives together were perfect, until the day she disappeared without a trace! Evan searched for her day and night to no avail, and began to give up hope until a letter arrived about a year later. Inside the letter was a card with the same symbol that was on the back of Melissa's hand. The card was an invite to play a game, with a promise of making his chances rise in his never ending search for her, if only a fraction. Willing and desperate to find Melissa, he drives to the abandoned town of Waldburg to join 6 other players with desperate motives of their own, in a deadly card game. This is no ordinary card game, this is an interactive card game against.....a BEAST!
This ain't your momma's game! There's never been a game quite like this one, and I could hardly wait for this game to be released. The graphics are fantastic, and the features are even better. Zoom zones can be flipped, and interactive windows pop up in sections as you progress. This game is all about the Cards of a Deck, you will collect different ones that do different things as you try to slay the Beast, AND you only have till dawn to do so, because the game ends everyday at dawn and you'll have to start all over again the next day, if you survive that is! There's the Banisher card that can scare off the beast, the Runebreaker, the Lurker and even a Shaman card that allows you to speak to the dead. Each time you use a card you will play a Mini Game where you click a moving ball to guide it into several openings of a moving labyrinth, but if your timing is off you'll have to start all over. The Collector's Edition version has Achievements to earn as well as a Hidden Beast Claw Sign in each scene, but you get so involved in the "game" that none of the extra's really matter.
The Hidden Object Scenes vary with different types such as Interactive Listed items, finding Keywords in a sentence, finding Misplaced items and returning them correctly, and my favorite was finding Multiples of each symbol shown on the wings of a wooden eagle statue. There is a Morph in the HOP's, (CE) the only feature that disappoints me because like most, I prefer them in the main game.
The Mini Games are really entertaining, some easy, some not so easy. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Move the hands so that their color matches the color of each corner.
2) select buttons in the correct order.
3) Assemble the picture by swapping tiles.
4) Turn on the four lights at the top, selecting gears to rotate them so that the batteries are connected to the lights.
5) Light up oval stones by selecting right and left rotation arrows to rotate the discs.
6) Land on the correct runes based on the clue. Select right and left arrows to choose which way the dial moves and the number buttons to select the number of moves.
7) Select and swap picture pieces, pieces can only be swapped with the piece next to it.
The Collector's Edition has: 29 Hidden Symbols, 10 Music Soundtracks, a Card Gallery, a Collectible Hunt Game, Jigsaw Puzzle, 20 Wallpapers, 19 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, 19 Morphing Objects within the HOP's, a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy!

Harriden Welles has invited 5 of his favorite authors to his wealthy estate for a literary contest. The thrill seeking Lucas Routledge, who has written the Hidden Expedition series, the slightly neurotic Jessica Benedict, author of the popular Danse Macabre series, the reclusive Cameron Jones who somehow managed to write the Off The Record novels at a very young age, the paranoid writer of Phantasmat, Adam Johannson, and of course you, the famous author of Dead Reckoning, have all agreed to compete to write Mr. Welles' biography. The evening has just begun and naturally, someone has just been murdered in a classic Dead Reckoning style, which happens to narrow down the playing field. The murderer is taunting the other 4 contestants with riddles of their demise, and it doesn't take long to figure out that the murderer is killing the victims in the same exact way as the characters in their books have died! Whodunit? Who will win this deadly contest?
Welcome back Dead Reckoning, after Snowbird's Creek, I had my doubts that this series could make a comeback, but they have done a masterful job with Death Between the Lines. This is the series that puts the who into whodunits, not to mention the what, where, when and why as you interrogate the remaining suspects and try to stop a cold blooded killer. The only assistant you need for this case is your Tablet which helps you keep track of the evidence and clues you compile while trying to find the person behind the motive. The Collector's Edition version offers a Hidden Sign in each scene, which in this game just happens to be cold, hard cash, Dollar Bills that is, but in my opinion, this Standard Version is perfectly fine. They have altered the way you interrogate the characters a slight bit, instead of deciding if they are lying or being truthful, you are tasked with finding multiple examples to back up their statements in a Mini Game Hidden Object scenario.
The Hidden Object Scenes are very clever in my opinion. There are some unusual kinds as well as the typical Interactive List finds, Keywords in sentences, and Silhouetted Shape finds. My favorite HOP was finding items that match a riddled type description, and some of the Zoom Zone HOP's did a nice job of blending items as well. Some of the HOP's have a Morphing Object available in the CE, and there is an alternate Bubble Shoot game to play.
The Mini Games are decent, I thought the first puzzle was very creative in how they tied the game into the famous BF review rating system for each of these well known games. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Complete pie charts by selecting and placing the parts correctly using the ratings breakdown.
2) Lead the helicopter to the top-right, using directional arrows to avoid obstacles without running out of gas.
3) Arrange the ornaments on the door to match the ornaments on the other door.
4) Use arrows to move the slider to each checkpoint, one arrow moves the pointer two spaces left the other three spaces right.
5) Select and drag tiles to recreate all of the shapes shown, all tiles must be used.
The Collector's Edition has 12 Music Soundtracks, 6 Videos, 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 22 replayable Puzzles, 12 replayable Hidden Object Scenes, replayable Bubble Shoot games, 38 Hidden Dollar Bill Signs, 12 Morphing Objects in the HOP's, a Souvenir Room, 16 Achievements a built in Strategy Guide and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy a good book tonight!
I recommend this game!

I've always been a jigsaw puzzle junkie, the bigger the better, and I have a hard time pulling myself away from a puzzle until they are completed. I prefer the good old fashioned physical jigsaw puzzles, but sometimes virtual puzzles are more practical.
The puzzles offered in Thanksgiving Day however, just aren't that appealing to me, and it's just more of the same as within the last one. I like pictures of animals or beautiful sceneries, but even the Countryside box has very few "countryside" views, they are just okay pictures, and I wouldn't choose these scenes if I were buying a physical puzzle.
There are 100 puzzles available in each of the 5 categories, Decorations, Autumn, Family, Treats and Countryside. These are basically the same categories that are offered in Thanksgiving Day 2 & 3 and the Halloween editions (with the exception of Costumes replacing Countryside), which I already mentioned doesn't really have pictures of the countryside, it's mostly pictures of kids and farm animals.
Any puzzle can be modified with the amount of pieces you want, the style of cut and whether or not you want the pieces to rotate. You can choose four different colored backgrounds, pink, blue, green and white, as well as choose your resolution.
There are several tools available, you can choose to ghost the image of the puzzle on the background, or have a real picture shown in three different sizes. There is a Magnifying glass and a Hint icon, you can use the Border only option or the Sort option, and you can store extra pieces in the box until you have more room. Who knows, maybe # 4 will have better pictures, enjoy!
I recommend this game!
