and apparently, so was my review!
Jane Patrick is just an ordinary Math teacher who just put in a full and exhausting day at work. It's late, it's raining and visibility is poor so her senses are on high alert. Jane was prepared for just about anything, but what happens next. In the blink of an eye, Jane finds herself the victim of a maniacal and twisted experiment, when she awakens as a patient at the long-abandoned Mountain View Asylum. Run all you'd like Jane, but you'll never truly escape this Maze of Stolen Minds!
Finally! A decent game with no Gadgets Involved! You will, however, get to make "Choices" during your Maze experiences, such as Fight or Flight, if you make the wrong choice you'll have to play the scene again making the opposite choice. There is also a "Sanity Meter" at the top of the screen, which is simply an attempt to give the game a sense of urgency. The graphics at times seemed cartoonish, and there are a ton of logic fails that for me personally, somewhat took away from the realism, because some of them were just hilarious. Does a round pole fit inside a square opening? Why yes it does! Is there such a thing as vermin spray? Why yes there is! This place looks abandoned do you not see the man on the mower I'm speaking with? Apparently not!
The Hidden Object Scenes are not scarce, but in comparison to the massive number of mini-games, they do fall a bit short. They are typical HOP's for MHG, with the majority being Silhouetted Shape finds, but most are multi-layered with at least 2 different styles. There is Listed Item finds and Multiple Item finds, and several smaller Zoom-Zone HOP's to find 5-6 Silhouetted Shaped objects. One of my favorite HOP's was finding 12 "Monsters" in a dark scene with just a beam of light, I have to give kudos to these guys for making me jump several times during the game! In this Collector's Edition version, each HOP has a Morphing Object to find, some of which were not so easy to spot. If you forget to look for the Morph, you can go into the CE extra re-playable HOP's to pick them up.
The Mini-games are decent, but this game is extremely puzzle heavy, so if you aren't into mini-game puzzles, you probably won't like this game. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Turn all of the red lights green by turning the valves, 1 can affect others.
2-Click rapidly until the meter bar fills up.
3-Click when the small circle is inside the larger circle to abolish the ghosts.
4-Rotate the plates to allow the bar to slide, 1 can affect others.
5-Rotate discs to move tokens to their matching colored slots.
6-Click the hand rapidly to fill the meter.
7-Drag 4 rings to complete the image.
8-Use directional arrows to guide the raft and avoid obstacles.
9-Place torn map fragments into the correct highlighted spaces.
10-Swap the trophies until all lights turn green.
11-Select and drag wires the correct number of connections per node.
12-Place the knobs in their correct spaces based on color and shape.
13-Move the plates into their matching colored discs.
14-Click when the small circle is inside the large circle to abolish ghosts.
This Collector's Edition version has 12 Wallpapers, 2 Concept Art pictures, 8 Character Gallery Pictures, 5 Music Soundtracks, 20 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes-# 20 is the best, so play that one first! a Bonus Token Game and an Ultimate HOP (can collect HOP Morphs you missed) 10 Achievements to earn, 9 Wrong Choices option (shows you stats), 28 Scene Morphing Objects, 19 Hidden Object Morphs, 28 Hidden Brains, a Journal with Objectives, Clues and Time Played, 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide enjoy (hurry before they steal your mind too)

The original Haunted Manor games were "old-school" but cool, and I own every one of them. Unfortunately, the dev who created the first 3 games has passed into virtual HOPA heaven, and now the "big guys" have taken over and ruined the once epic, Haunted Manor. At least the Collector's Edition version has Hidden Owls to search for in each scene, which is the only interesting feature offered.
I must admit, I was really intrigued by the storyline of a class reunion as a scavenger hunt that takes place in the Covington Mansion located on a remote island. The possibilities were endless, and the sky was the limit to create an epic plot, but ultimately they failed to create a masterpiece. I was immediately disappointed in this game, the endless pointless conversations, bland hazy graphics with very little detail, a painstakingly turtle-speed camera pans that can't be sped up, and worst of all, some of the brightest, cheeriest "haunted manor" rooms I've ever seen. What a shame, if the game's plot doesn't match visually, there will be a huge disconnect, making it difficult to relate, and it did! This game has a very similar storyline to Tales of Terror: House on the Hill, but at least that game has creepy graphics!
The Hidden Object Scenes are unappealing and make no attempt to hide the objects. It's impossible to miss the objects when there are only 10-15 objects to look at. There are Interactive List finds, Silhouetted Shape finds and Picture finds in the demo itself, and of course, in the Collector's Edition version, each scene has a Morphing Object to discover.
The Mini-Games are actually not bad, but the instructions are very confusing at times. I did enjoy the skull & bones mini-game after the demo, but I've played that particular game a hundred times before in a hundred different games. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Drag horizontal and vertical sections to restore the picture.
2) Connect lines from the inner disc to the X spots w/o crossing.
3) Use directional arrows to guide icons to highlighted slots.
4) Swap discs to match the clue shown.
The Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, 8 Concept Art pictures, 9 Music Soundtracks, 8 Movie Video Cutscenes, 17 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 15 re-playable Mini-Games, a Souvenir Room for 20 souvenirs, 13 Achievements to earn, 11 HOP Morphing Objects, 3 Collectible Cats, 36 Hidden Owls, 5 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter.

Life may be on fast-forward at times, but at Hotel Victory life is on Rewind. Take a step back in time, to the good ole days, and the good ole HOG days of the earlier style of Mystery Case Files games, back when you were just a newly appointed Master Detective working for the Queen. Back to the days of Blackpool!
You need to make a major decision right from the get-go when you decide which difficulty mode you want to play in because there's no option to change it unless you start with a new profile! (but that's how it was in the beginning) You can play in a Relaxed mode, a Master Detective mode or a Custom mode. In the custom mode, you must make several choices that may seem confusing. You can set the Level Timer, Hint Recharge Time, Hint Charges (how many x's 1-5) Hint Time Penalty (10-60) and the Skip Time Penalty (10-120) I would suggest you play the first chapter on Easy mode to see if the game would be too difficult for you if it were on a Tomed mode because you only get 20-30 minutes to solve each Case or Chapter, and that includes everything (HOGS, Door Super Games, Puzzles) There are 11 different chapters or "Cases"
The Hidden Object Scenes are really fantastic! That's right, I actually said the HOG's were fantastic and if you've read my reviews, I don't favor most HOP's lately! They are Interactive List finds with mini-games to solve. Each scene has a Morphing Object to find as well in this CE edition. You will receive Blueprint sections for completing the HOG's and once you complete the blueprint you will complete a Puzzle to make the key to unlock the next door.
Unlocking the next Door (once you have made the Key) requires you to solve a Super Puzzle. This is the MCF famous Rube Goldberg puzzle where you must interact with the entire scene by fidgeting with several different and bizarre items like toasters, pipes, valves etc. There are 11 Door Super Puzzles and each Door puzzle has a hidden Electric Capacitor to find.

This Collector's Edition version has 8 Wallpapers, Concept Art pictures, 6 Music Soundtracks, 7 Movie Videos, 36 re-playable HOG's, 11 re-playable Mini-0Games, a Diary (story added after each Case is solved) 13 Achievements to earn, 36 HOP Morphing Objects, 11 Electric Capacitors (within the Super Puzzles) 11 Case Chapters and a Bonus Chapter, enjoy your trip down memory lane!

Lost Artifacts has made a third attempt, but once again has failed to grab the attention of TM fans. The colors are dull, the tasks are repetitive and predictable. If you do happen to enjoy this game, this SE version is the better route because there's really nothing CE worthy about the other version, there isn't even a Strategy Guide!
In the first Lost Artifacts game, the archaeological team was able to stop the Dark Priest from doing his Dark dirty deeds, and the team regretfully had to say goodbye to their newfound native friends.
In the second Lost Artifacts game, the team's airplane was no match for a hurricane they encountered, and they crashed on a large but remote island in the middle of the ocean. They discovered a tribe of Atlantean's that had survived when the city of Atlantis was sunk by yet another evil-doer, and the team had once again agreed to help them return to their beloved city, after defeating the evil-doer of course!
Now the team has to face a third evil-doer in this third installment of Lost Artifacts when a thief steals the legendary Soulstone which possess unfathomable powers. Evil-doer #3 has already used the stone to awaken a Terra-cotta emperor, and he's a bigger evil-doer than the thief himself! Can the team stop this madman before he awakens the ancient dragon and takes over the world?
There are the usual tasks to perform of gathering resources of Food, Wood, Ore, Gold, Lumber, and the usual buildings to repair such as Huts for workers, Sawmills for Lumber, Farms for food, Mills or a Blacksmith barn. You will repair bridges, remove mantraps, and trade goods at the merchant market. Some levels require that you upgrade certain buildings to a certain level. You may need to build a house to accommodate a specialized person to rid the paths from certain obstructions such as a Monks house to restore statues, defenders houses to rid the path of snakes.
If you are a seasoned Time Management fan, I think you'll find this game to be a bit bland, with not a whole lot of challenge. I personally don't see the need for a handful of music soundtracks, concept art or trophies that are available within the CE version, when it comes to a TM game. The CE version doesn't even include a Strategy Guide, and neither version has a difficulty mode option!

The Traditional multi-colored Mosaics levels have a good amount of challenge, but the Labyrinth & Mystery Lands levels were far too easy to solve. I did come across a few of the traditional levels that I was only able to solve by making a guess, so for that reason, I deducted a star. Once again, I wasn't able to play this on my Win10 PC because the screen stretched so much that I couldn't see the entire screen, but it did work on my Mac. You also get the option to choose between 10 different Tilesets in this version.

The main features of this series are that they take you to the World's Greatest Cities and tell you some interesting facts about the city you are visiting, they also offer a custom difficulty mode, and they have interactive Mosaics with movements such as boats or turtles in the water.
You can play in a Casual, Normal or Expert difficulty mode, or you can customize the difficulty mode by choosing if you want to play in a timed mode, if you want bonus points as a time bonus, whether you want numbers crossed off one by one or only when the entire row has been completed, and you can set the number of mistakes allowed from 1-5 and how long it takes for the hint feature to recharge from 30-120 seconds.
There are 3 different types of Mosaics offered in this version:
*Traditional (multi-colored) which has 3 different colors to switch between to help you solve the puzzle. In some of the puzzles, some sections may be locked, requiring you to complete a different color to unlock those sections.
*Mystery Lands which fills in each cell with 3 different kinds of pictures that when complete forms a beautiful scene, often with swimming fish, turtles or boats.
*Labyrinth Game is similar to Mystery Lands, but after completing the puzzle, you guide a ball through the maze from point A to B by clicking on intersections of the maze.

This is a perfect example of a poor, irrelevant HOG. Unlike yesterday's entertaining hidden object game, this one is boring, old school, simplistic and plain ole boring.
The first task was to click on 20 Cobwebs, I say click on because they certainly aren't "hidden" Next step is to rotate huge puzzle tiles to complete the picture.
Supposedly there are Match 3 games and Card Memory mini-games as well, and you can skip them with no penalties. I say supposedly because the game kept shutting off every time I clicked on an item and I had no desire to keep up this cat and mouse glitch.
The Hidden Object Scenes themselves have Pictured Item Finds, Word Finds and Silhouetted Shape finds. There is a Hint system available, but trust me you won't need it.
The graphics are very large but clear, so if you have vision difficulties this game would be perfect, that is, IF you don't mind the glitchiness of the game mechanics. I'll stick to yesterday's fishsticks!
I recommend this game!

I usually enjoy playing physic's based games, but after about 12 levels or so it just became boring. It's a beautiful game though with beautiful graphics.
Basically, you click on Sunny, the glowing Orb to wake him up. He shines a beam of light through the darkness, and you rotate him around using Mirrors to reflect the beam of light through all 3 Life Source tiles until the beam reaches the Light Source at the end.
Some Mirrors can be rotated, some can't. You will lose a star for each Life Source not collected, but the levels can be replayed. As you progress, creatures will help you solve trickier levels such as Fireflies, and they will recharge if you find one in a level.
Hopefully, if you like this type of physics-based game, you'll endure it longer than I did, but it just became repetitive for my personal tastes.
I don't recommend this game.

To pass over Tales of Lagoona because it looks like a child's game would be a travesty because this is a very entertaining HOG, and it's not as easy as you may think. I own both previous games in this series and thoroughly enjoy them, and this game will definitely be added to my list.
This is a quest driven HOG, you must clear debris, and redecorate Poseidon Park. You can accept quests as you progress and the items needed to complete those quests are shown on every HO scene, those items may or may not be on that particular scene.
Each HO scene has a variety of HO types, Fragment Finds, Listed Item Finds, Riddle Descriptions and Silhouetted Shape Finds. Each scene has Gold Coins to collect to allow you to purchase upgrades, Silver Tokens that allow you to play Arcade Mini-Games, Pearls and Gems and if you click on the Rainbow Fish as he swims by, he will find an item for you. There are also side Bonus Goals that are optional, such as finding items in Reverse Alphabetical order.
The Arcade has all kinds of Mini-Games and Puzzles to play at any time with the Arcade Tokens. Here are a few descriptions of the whopping 270 available:
1-Use the clues given on the right to correctly place the items and characters into the correct rooms.
2-Click on two adjacent tiles on the grid that match the tiles shown at the right.
3-Remove the Gold Key halves by drawing lines with no more than 2 corners to remove keys that block its path, within a Limited amount of moves.
You can earn Trophies, Awards, and Achievements galore, and once you unlock all of the HO levels you can unlock the Challenge Mode. There are 37 Wallpapers, a Screensaver, 13 Music Soundtracks, 34 Stat Goals to earn, 31 Achievements, and 53 Trophies included.

The Seer has just had a dire vision about "The Wild Hunt" a vision of Death and Despair. The Hunt is interfering with the rules the gods have set, and the gods are angry. The Shield-Maiden is eager to take on The Hunt, she is prepared to do whatever it takes to defend the Nine Worlds. Stories of the Wild Hunt prophecy have been passed down for generations in The Huntresses Clan, and she has agreed to visit the elders to gather vital knowledge to help them on their quest. The Skald is ready, willing, and able, to play a song??? It's hard to take this game seriously when all these epic visions and battle-ready characters inspire everyone, and then the camera pans to the Skald who's casually strumming a tune and say's "Surely this shall be an event worthy of a song" Seriously?? That's easy for him to say, does he have to walk around with antlers strapped to his back having visions of doom and gloom? Does he have to carry a large wooden shield and defend everyone from Dragons to otherworldly creatures? Does he have to Hunt down prey from wild Boars to Giant Bears? Nope, he's just sitting around waiting to play a stupid song once the battles been fought!
The Hidden Object Scenes are fairly mia in this puzzle-heavy game. The scenes themselves are located in interesting locations, and for the most part, are well done and story related. There are Silhouetted Shape finds, Keywords in Sentence finds and one where you must find the correct faces on several figurines. In the Collector's Edition version, each scene has a Morphing Object to find, and the morphs are slow and well concealed.
The Mini-Games are more abundant than the HOP's in this game. Personally, I found many of them to be far to easy to solve, some of which have lengthy, and/or confusing directions. If you choose to Skip a game, you'll still have to wait and watch a step by step replay of how it's solved. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1) Select identical buttons in the same horiz/vert/diag line.
2) Use a viewfinder to locate & focus all rock formations.
3) Shoot all sandbags when target crosshairs turn green.
4) Plan correct sequence using attack/defend/heal icons.
5) Match all tokens to remove them.
6) Replicate a sculpture by choosing the correct designs.
7) Drag tokens along tracks to their matching slots.
8) Choose 2 stones that have the correct symbol sections shown.
The Collector's Edition has 8 Wallpapers, 4 Concept Art pictures, 8 Character pictures (split dev/character) 8 Music Soundtracks, 11 Movie Videos, 13 Achievements to earn, a Journal (w/characters) 14 re-playable Hidden Object Scenes, 29 re-playable Mini-Games, a Bonus Game, 20 Souvenir's to collect in the Souvenir Room, 14 HOP Morphing Objects, 37 Hidden Signs (different signs in each of the World's you visit) 4 Main Chapters +Bonus Chapter and a built-in Strategy Guide, enjoy!

The devs must have run out of Blood Moon ideas because this time it's a Green Moon that causes the Forest Creatures to leave the comforts of the Dark Forest, and wreak havoc upon the Kingdom to ruin the wedding plans of the Princess and her fiance, Malgor. Of course there's always a hidden agenda and of course, no one is really who they seem to be. There's nothing about this storyline that's even remotely interesting, and the game's features are as easy as they could possibly be. There is no quality or quantity and this game is anything but CE worthy!
Yet another stupid gadget, a magic ring with a stupid and repetitive mini-game where you click when the orbs are inside a huge circle. There are Morphing Paw Prints and Lanterns that are large and easily spotted, not to mention that the lanterns glow! (CE version) This game should get an award for the shortest game in history, to me, this is an example of a game slapped together with little care of thought towards the fan-base, there's simply NO excuse for this!
The Hidden Object Scenes are super simplistic and include Interactive List Finds, Keywords in Sentence Finds, Silhouetted Shape Finds and Multiple Item Finds. There are several smaller HOP's where you must find Multiples of Items within the entire scene, but those items are so large, you simply can't miss them such as 6 Crates.
The Mini-Games are super simplistic and repetitive. Below are brief descriptions of some of the games you'll encounter during the demo:
1-Rotate disk rings to complete the image.
2-Click when orbs are inside the large center ring.
3-Use directional arrows to avoid obstacles and collect flags.
4-Repeat the sequence of doorknockers.
5-Select matching symbols.
6-Rotate and place picture pieces.
7-Repeat the sequence of snakes.
