Although not a very long game, it is dreamy and creative. Main game is a good length but the bonus game was way too short for the CE price, although if you feel like splurging, it is beautiful. I would have given it 5 stars if it was a long game but it wasn't long enough. There is morphing creatures throughout the game to find as collectables and if you miss some, you can go back at the end and find them :-) A cute dragon helper that is minimal. Puzzles were fairly easy but creative and fun. Hops were not a bunch of junk piles and were kind of fun and creative, and I hate hops. For a creative and relaxing adventure game, I recommend but the SE would suffice since the Bonus was super short.
I read a review that there were master puzzles in this game, but there are no master puzzles (like MCF games) so that was disappointing. However, there were good puzzles although not as creative as I like. There were way too many hops that were just plain old junk piles with minimal interactivity and a morphing object. So, that was really annoying. The story was ok, nothing to write home about and kind of boring. Graphics were good, a bit gritty but it fit the timeline of the story. Bonus game was ridiculously short, super disappointing. I would have given it 3 stars but it gets one for the worst bonus game ever. I recommend getting this game on a game voucher SE version.
Games only get 5 stars from me if they are long with a long bonus game. This game was also fun to play with fun but fairly easy puzzles. Good adventure with a good map. Collect puzzle pieces and morphing objects throughout the game. Hops were a bit too many for my taste but were creative and fun but a bit tedious and not interactive enough for me. There was the alternative Mahjong game which I usually would love but it was easy and boring and the same game over and over again. Overall the game was a great adventure, long and fun to play.
I recommend this game!

Phantasmat: Town of Lost Hope Collector's Edition
Carrying the lives of many on your shoulders, you are forced to balance on the tightrope placed between life and death.
This was the worst of the Phantasmat game series. The artwork was dark, gritty and hard to see clearly. Short game, I went through it and the bonus game pretty fast. Puzzles were ok with a couple good ones, hops were somewhat interactive, only one of the hops was puzzle like and I loved that one. I liked the creepy story a lot and gave it 5 stars for that but the rest left much to be desired. I would definitely get the SE version but I cannot recommend the CE version because of how short it was.
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
I love MCF games and the one before this "Escape from Ravenhearst" was awesome, but this one was way too much like a D rate film rather than gameplay. Way too much talking from characters and the worst part is you couldn't click through it, you were stuck listening to the entire chatter. It was torture! I like MCF's creativity and I like how they incorporated real people in an animated game, that was awesome but let's keep it minimal! Also let us click through the talking if we want to. I believe this is the first time they incorporated a map, which was nice, however it just brought you to the area and not to specific rooms/locations so there was still a lot of back tracking. Way too many hops! Junk piles around every corner! It was awful. Big issue, there were No Master Puzzles :-( Very disappointing. This was the lamest game they've made due to too much talking and hops and the lack of puzzles, gameplay, and minimal adventure. Another complaint, is you have the choice to not include a tutorial yet the psychic continually and repetitively gave you instructions every single time throughout the game! That was so annoying! Lastly, at the end you were forced to sit through the ridiculously long credits and I could not get out of it, I had to force quit the game so it would stop. omg! Definitely the worst MCF game made, too bad because they had a great idea and I loved the cheesy actors included but they ruined it by all that I mentioned in my complaints. Sorry, this one I do not recommend unless you have a free voucher.
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.
This is not an easy game, but a fantastic adventure with over the top characters, I especially loved the awful and disgusting mom, that was so funny! The whole game was like one giant puzzle, I had to look up help about 3 times because I got stuck and the hint button doesn't work through most of the gameplay, which is slightly annoying. Also they didn't have a map to jump so there is tons of back tracking but that's my only complaints. No bonus chapter that I could find so I'm assuming it's added to the game play? No matter, it was a long and challenging game and totally worth it. Didn't really have many super puzzles, but MCF still lived up to it's name with original and creative puzzles, atmosphere, music and characters! This is one of there best, but they are all amazing games. I bought this when it first came out but didn't review until now after playing it again. I'm running through all the series again, well except the older ones they still need to update for current Macs of which I'm still upset about. Definitely recommend!
I loved this game, very creative. The worlds, places, characters and artwork was fantastic. Great story and great adventure. I enjoyed collecting the balls throughout the game and then going back and getting the ones I missed and playing another game. I thought there were two extra chapters which I was super excited about but it's really only the bonus chapter and a quiz type puzzle which was super easy. Creative hops (although I still prefer more interactive puzzle like hops), and not a whole lot of puzzles wish there were more like the master MCF puzzles. The Bonus chapter was an ok length, should have been longer but was beautifully done and worth it. The last door opened once you finished finding all the balls but it wasn't another chapter it was just a quick game which was a total let down. Other than that it was an excellent game due to it's originality, and fun adventure. I really enjoyed the smooth gameplay, and hope they make a sequel!
This game has the feel of the older games which I'm not too excited about, but the adventure was great even though there was no map. Has a lot of puzzles which I love. Some of them challenging. I loved the humorous comments when trying to use the wrong item on something, I was cracking up. Good game.
I liked the adventure part of it but the graphics were a bit gritty and there was way too many hops without any interactivity, just boring piles. At least there was no click penalty. Map was good, indicated places to go and you were able to jump to them. I liked the story, and the woods part with the 3 crystals that took you to different places. puzzles were ok. Game was a good length. Game was dated but I'll recommend if you have a free voucher.
The only thing I can say was good about this game was the graphics, the artwork was at least decent. - The game itself was dated with old hops around every corner. Not interactive and to top it off it had the click penalty. - This game had a worthless map. Did absolutely nothing, you could not click to jump to the location so you had to run all over the place, there was no indication of something to do and where to go if you got stuck. The only thing that saves you is the hint button helps you go the right direction. Probably the worst map I've ever seen. - Another super annoying issue was everytime you went to get something in your inventory the objective kept opening, completely unbelievable poor design! What the heck were these people thinking? On top of this, the items in the your inventory you had to click twice to use and they had no names of what they were, some things I had no idea what they were suppose to be. Definitely do not recommend.
