The end of this current trilogy was by far the best of them all! Wonderful graphics and amazing story. Best of all, this is the first one with VOs and they were very complimentary to the story. I was so into the story I would forget about the real world! It has just the right amount of HOS and the puzzles were nicely ranged from easy to med-hard. The cut scenes are something I usually don't watch, but these were definately worth it.
What can I say, a must have for any Poe fan! The story line was classic and kept me interested all the way through. Although the puzzles had no intructions once again they are simple enough to solve or skip if you have to. The background music was excellent for the story, no VO though. Just long enough to keep you wanting more. PS: Look out for the chicken! LOL This second story in the Poe trilogy exceeded my expectations and is one I will play again for sure! Can't wait to start the Premature Burial!
The first story in this trilogy is truley a must for any Poe lover. While the were no VO, the music was soothingly appropriate and the graphics crisp and clear. Loved the map that transported you to the next area. Not a lot of going back and forth either. While the puzzles offered no directions they were simple enough to sovle anyway. Slightly on the short side, the story is classic Poe and a good game to have.
WOW! Awesome HOA, only played the SE but plan on buying the CE soon. The graphics are appropriately creepy yet crisp and clear. The narration was excellent, and the story line will definately leave you screaming for more! The puzzles range from easy to medium-hard(only skipped one). This is one of the rare HOA's that instead of rushing through just to end it, I found myself so absorbed into the story I just couldn't stop, it's like a good book you just can't put down!
This was VERY short for my taste in HOA games. I also found the beginning made me feel like someone was holding my hand every step of the way. The story line was okay at best, no voice overs at all and the graphics were fairly grainy and dark. You also have to click the correct objects several times before the game recognizes it and sometimes this will lead you into a penalty. Glad I bought it on sale and not full price!
Spookie atmosphere was great! This is a short and a little on the easy side but still a fun HOA. I liked that it gives you the choice between casual and expert modes. The graphics and eerie music make the game best played in the dark and with headphones on for maximum spooktacular fun!
Well since I started this trilogy at the end with Black Heart, I have now played the first and had all the questions answered. This is a well done game with great visual and storyline. Just the right amount of HO scenes and medium difficulty puzzles. Definately worth playing!
I found this HOA to be a good rainday special, something to do when all else fails. The graphics were decent but nothing spectacular, Voice overs(when there were any) okay at best. Story line was good and did have a good twist in the end. I have not played the bonus game yet but Im not expecting much from it either. Still, it's recommendable for beginners or upper level players looking for an easy pass the time game.
Following in the footsteps of Grim Tales The Bride, does not disappoint! Excellent graphics, eerie music, great voice quality. Puzzels are challenging enough to complete with out getting hair pulling frustrated. I loved the twists in the story and just when you think you are about to complete it, a whole nother section comes into play. Also having the map to where you are and where you need to yet go was a bonus!
First in this line of HOA stories, it has extremely well done graphics, excellent spookie music and a wonderful story line. Puzzels were just challenging enough to be fun not frustrating, there was quite a bit of back and forth but not too much. Loved the twists in the story line. Will definately play again soon.
