Not much of a storyline, you have been shipwrecked on an uncharted island that was inhabited over a 100yrs ago but now there is no one to be found. There are no VOs, the graphics are cartoonish and grainy in the cut scenes. The HOS are a good challenge and crisp compared to other scenes. The puzzles are of a good variety. There is no map, just a journal and a LOT of back and forth so be ready to put that memory of yours to the test! The end leaves it wide open for the sequel and enough curiosity to want to play it to hopefully get the rest of the story and find closure.
This is a good inbetween game, not overlly challenging but enough to make it enjoyable. The puzzles are a good range of difficulties and some new interesting one as well. The storyline was not really there, the graphics are ok but mostly grainy in the cut scenes, no VOs just some light reading. it does have an interactive map which is a huge plus and your hint button can be your best friend.
Amazing graphics, well done VOs, puzzles were a wide variety of easy to hairpulling hard. There were just enough HOS to be useful and not annoying. THe cut scenes were some of the best I have seen in awhile. The storyline was excellent with suspence, romance and revenge all rolled into one. The bonus material is really a perk! Choice of play level, journal with task list, no map though. Looking forward to the next Shiver installment soon!
Extremely well done graphics, VOs when they had them, the cut scenes are superb and the music is always appropriate for the scene (sometimes makes you jump, lol). Multiple choice of play level, stradegy guide is included which is a major bonus! No map but you do have a journal which comes in handy. The storyline is above par and to really wrap it up, play the bonus chapter in the extras at the end! I can't wait to see what ERS comes out with next!

This was a great game to play, just enough HOS to be useful, the puzzles are a wide range of difficulties and the graphics are very clear and realistic in some scenes. VOs are good but be glad you can read along at the bottom too since most of the time they don't sync up with the characters. Two levels of play makes it nicer. Eerie storyline with gruesome twist, I LOVED IT! But then this is my kind of story. I look forward to the next installment to the Dark Dimensions collection soon!
The storyline truely lacked in keeping me interested, it all seemed to familiar to other games. The graphics were mediocre at best, no VOs all reading and it goes so slow you dont know whether its done or not. The puzzles pose no challenge they are so easy. I guess I am glad I got it on sale! It was however a decent game for a quick break between my more challenging games and so I still recommend the game!
Short but still good, linear and not too much back and forth. Map is available, not interative though. No VOs so look forward to light reading. Look at everything and ignore nothing, even the strangest things can be valuable tools. I loved the imagination aspect used in the storyline and the theme of going from childhood to adulthood. The puzzles can be fairly challenging and the HOS had the added interactive aspect to find objects. Graphics are a little on the cartoonish side but I think it gives it added charm and quality to the storyline.
Good game for a short play in between longer games. Fairly linear and not a lot of back and forth. There is a map but not interactive. Puzzles are fairly easy as are the HOS. VOs are good when they are used otherwise there is a bit of light reading. Graphics are good and I loved the little Gnome! Good game for beginners or upper level players looking for a short and simple game for a break.
Most sequels don't compare to the first story, this is one of those wonderful rare exceptions! It picks up right were the first left off and the storyline is just as captivating. The graphics are even better and the music is appropriate to each scene. THe cut scenes are beyond amazing! There isn't a "hint" button in the traditional sense, it's got something better: Franklin, you can ask him for advice(hints) as often as you like with no penalty or recharge time. There are 2 levels of play to choose from which is nice. I am heading to the third game in the series with high hopes, I'm sure I won't be disappointed!
City of fog is the first in the dark dimensions line and is a great game! Plenty of HOS but not over done, good range of puzzle difficulties. The graphics are amazing and the VOs are right in sync. I loved the cut scenes as they really added to the story. The hint button does come in handy and the is a map but not interactive so there is a lot of back and forth going on. I look forward to play the next in line, Wax Beauty CE.
