Fans will not need me to remind them that this is the third offering from Echoes of the Past. This is probably the best of the series narrowingly beating Revenge of the Witch. The story is focused on time travel in order to once again save the kingdom of Orion, and undo the plans of the evil witch. The game itself is a gem, and well done voiceovers and cutscenes are further complimented by the beautiful crisp graphics. As for the original and entertaining puzzles, they are the best yet, most easy to medium but I was happy to see a few tricky ones. There are lots of them too, which makes this game a must buy for puzzle enthusiasts. I also like the fact that you do not always use items you find straight away, which would take all the fun out of the game. However everybody will find something to like here, and the HO scenes are also very good. I played this on the hardest level, but there is also a choice for less experienced players, so it is suitable for all, and children will love the storyline.
The Castle of Shadows is the second installment in the Echoes of the Past series. The story type is similar to the original, you need to restore the royal amulet to break the witche's curse You also need to release the souls of the trapped spirits.. The storyline is still very attractive to children, but anybody will find this fun to do. The graphics and sound were good again, and there are many puzzles some of them I found a little harder than before and more interesting, which was great. However, I consider this to be the weakest of the series for the sole reason that some of the areas you visit were excact duplicates from the original game, the Royal House of Stone. That alone made me feel cheated, as if the programmers could not be bothered to conjure any new locations, it seemed that the graphics designer had been on holiday, and we were saddled with many of the same locations, which I did not like. That's the only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 4. Still an enjoyable game though.
I am afraid this game did not live up to its promise, as the trial was ok, but it progressively got worse. You play the detective trying to stop the dastardly magician Visage, who has unleashed a fog depriving all citizens of their faces. There are also the devious Bourdeaux family to contend with, who had supposedly burned in their mansion fire years ago .Soon however, the promising start descends into a farce with a comic book cast of characters, who act and talk just so, not serious enough for an investigation, just silly really. The graphics are just barely ok, and unfortunately there is only one mode of play, which I found to be very easy. There were too many HO's and too few puzzles, and even they were too easy to do, with the exception of the very last puzzle which was of medium difficulty. On top of that, items found were used too quickly sucking all the fun out of this game.
This is the first game in the popular Echoes of the Past series, and it does not disappoint, after all, there are already three follow ups. The fairy tale story centers on the kingdom of Orion. You must help the last prince and lift a curse that has befallen this ancient kingdom. The game is fun to play for all, although the storyline will definitely appeal to children. There are beautiful clear graphics and sound effects a good mix of HO and also many puzzles. Both the hidden objects and puzzles are fun to do, ranging mainly from easy to medium difficulty, with the odd harder puzzle thrown in sometimes. I especially liked the puzzles with locks on doors. A definite winner.
This game is really not so bad. It is true it could have been longer and more difficult, but it is still playable, especially attractive to the novice, The graphics and the story were ok, concerning ghosts and spirits in the Mcilnroy Manor, but I found the puzzles too easy. I would also have preferred more than one level of play, maybe for the more advanced player. However, as I said, it is still a nice relaxing game to play on a day when you don't want to work those grey cells too hard.
This is the fourth installment of Echoes from the Past, and is a pretty strong contender for the best of the series, together with the Citadels of Time. As usual, Orneon the developers have packed it with a great variety of puzzles, which to me is its most appealing feature. There are also HO scenes which are pretty good, with crisp graphics and nice sounds and effects. There are three levels of difficulty, I did it on the expert mode which was the hardest, with no hints and no skipping puzzles, but that's how I wanted to play it. Less experienced players can choose the two easier options which offer hints and allow you to skip areas of difficulty. The puzzles and mini games vary from easy to medium, but it was nice to see a few harder ones too, which increase the satisfaction when you complete them. Some of the puzzles repeated but that was fine, as they got harder. I was glad however that I did not see the location/room repeats we had in the Castle of Shadows as that had left me feeling cheated. All in all a great game for all, a must for puzzle enthusiasts, with a storyline that will appeal to children.
I recommend this game!

This is the story of Agatha Christie's marvellous book, nicely presented in the form of a hidden object adventure mystery. You of course, take on the role of Hercule Poirot, her famous detective, trying to find the murderer. The graphics are nice, depicting the cabins and places of interest, and the story is told through cutscenes from time to time. The main focus is on hidden objects, therefore you will appreciate it more, if you like them. There are however some mini games and suspects to question, so it does offer variety. You have to solve the hidden object scenes with a time limit, a few hints and a number of areas to visit in each chapter. This makes the HO areas harder but more interesting as you try and beat the clock. The game also has infinite replayability, as you can go back to it again and again for a unique experience.
I recommend this game!

I am afraid its true. This game was so bad that I felt that I had to submit a review about it. There are a multitude of problems that I found associated with it. There are bad voiceovers, and the worse graphics I have ever seen. I found the greeny blue hidden object background extremely tiring to the eyes, and the story was not to my liking and did not work in this game. I have seen other games which employed the technique of travelling to the past/another time through dimensions that really work well, like in echoes of the past, but not here. This game required so much concentration, and it's strange as the puzzles were quite easy. Maybe it was the HO scenes which I found extremely draining, I don't know, the graphics were awful. This game was so bad that it was the only game I uninstalled without bothering to finish it, I did about half of it before I cheered myself by deciding that I had had enough and would do no more. For these reasons I do not recommend this game.
Where do I start? I found this game extremely fun to play, with its intriguingly creepy storyline that kept me hooked. It has the feel of a mystery supernatural thriller, and its spooky sound effects and great voiceovers add to the entertainment. You find yourself stranded in an eerie town where nothing is what it seems, following a car accident.. It is up to you to find out what has really taken place in the past, if you are ever to escape from the clutches of the drowned dead hotel. The story is really absorbing as it is slowly uncovered and the end is very satisfying. There are many interesting puzzles that vary in difficulty and the hidden object games are some of the best I have seen, with their beautiful unusual graphics and a match 3 variation mode of play. I played this on the hardest of three levels, but it will appeal to players of all abilities. What else can I say, apart from that this was an extremely strong contender for my all time favourite, just beaten at the post by Dire Grove. Buy it now, you will be glad you did.
I found this game simply amazing. I was hooked from start to finish, as I love a good murder mystery. You play the detective who has to unmask the murderer of three women, in and around the grounds of the Conti mansion. There are great graphics, many locations and an absorbing storyline, as you constantly find yourself one step behind the murderer, who is keen on stopping you in your tracks. There are many unique and interesting puzzles, of varying levels of difficulty, some easier than others, but good enough for all players. The HO scenes are refreshingly different and you have to usually work out how to get/free some objects, so it presents you with a challenge, You do have to think how to use/combine some of the objects you find which adds to the satisfaction, unless you prefer to be spoonfed in which case try something different. But for the great majority of players this will be an excellent experience. My only regret is that I did not get the CE version. I want to see more of these type of games on the market, keep them coming ERS.
