I don't know why this game is in "Hidden Object" -- There's not one H.O. Scene in it -- it's an adventure game. So if you like hidden object scenes - get something else.
The story is wonderful - twisty and silly and interesting all at the same time. The main character was awesome I would definitely play more games with her in the lead.
Slow start -- the first 3 "days" seem to drag on - then when it gets interesting - its heading for the final showdown. There's lots of "discussion" at first and the first day feels like a diversion that just eats time to make the game longer. Could have used more at the end and less set up/beginning.
Graphics: horrid - but mostly just old. Choppy movement makes her look like she's walking around with some kind of hip displacement. Of course - the best part is when she pulls a 6 foot ladder out of her back pocket -- no wonder she walks so funny! :)
Seriously - graphics wanting, but the mini movies in it are filmed and good looking.
Puzzles are easy - which is the real flaw in this game. I loved meeting all the "old ghosts" and the story -- but most of the stuff you find you use almost immediately, so its not hard to figure out what to do with what. Mini puzzles also solvable in a few clicks. So - by the end - you don't feel like you've really done anything. You put tab A into slot B and it opened C which lead you to D. Not enough intuition, and not enough payoff.
It is fun, but I think the possibilities behind the story are a lot more fun than what the game presents. Still, wish we could see Biggi some more.
This was a great game to play and a lot more fun than it looked from the preview.
The "clue givers" were all interesting historical figures, the story rolled along quite well, and the notes gave you a fast history of the cathedral. You also got a sense from walking the map how vast and expansive it can be even though it doesn't look like it.
The map is a huge help, as are the clues. The HO Scenes are well done - good art and the objects require a little looking but stand out. None are too small or indistinct. The puzzles are average. Not so brainy you need to skip them - not so easy you breeze by them.
It seemed a little short - but I also didn't want the story to end.
Very well designed game that allows you to change between time period (see a temple at it's height, see it when it's a ruin) and through one segment day and night. The ability to change added an extra dimension to the whole game.
Music was non-descript, but visuals were good. HOS were well detailed but everything was a fair size to be seen and the "put it together" sequences were fun as well.
Story was interesting, as were the time periods our hero inhabits. Puzzles were challenging but not too hard and the skip/hint feature didn't need much use. But its there if you need it.
Interesting game with a abrupt ending but good premise and solid game play.
I loved this game, and wish I hadn't shot through it so fast. (Pun intended).
The story is compelling, the music is wonderful and there is a bit of humor now and then. The puzzles are easy enough to get with a minimum of effort, and the minigame (optional) arrow shooting was a nice diversion between parts of the story.
I loved the "Area Cleared" signs and wish all games with hidden cards, keys, etc had them.
Perfect game if someone is just starting out in HOG's (it guides you - there's really no way to go wrong) and a great "let your brain take a break" game for hardcore HOG users.
I have loved all the Dark Parables stories and this was no exception. Nice link from the Frog Prince and great cutaway video section.
Good puzzles - not too easy, not too hard. Excellent Graphics, good logic based story. Nice map feature.
Only thing I don't like about the DP series is the fact the Hidden Object Scenes all are bits of one object instead of a typical HOS. What eventually happens is I just click around the picture until all the bits come together. It would be more challenging to have a more traditional HOS, but that's not how the writers of this series feel.
Of the 3 dark parables, this is the best by far, and I'm already exciting to see the next!
I recommend this game!

The Tudors
Travel across Europe as a spy and uncover conspiracies, assassination attempts, and other threats against England and her King!
I bought this because I was a big fan of "The Tudors" TV show and wanted to visit that world again. Sadly, it is set after the death of Anne Bolelyn (when the show started getting overtly political and dull) - and the game reflects the kind of complicated plot (england/france/spain/catholics/protestants) that the show engaged in during the 3rd season.
However, once I settled into the story I was very interested to see how it would end. Story was great.
Other Greats: The mini-puzzles are challenging but not too hard. They seem to fit the story. The "cutouts" from the actual actors from the show are fun and make the story easier to get into. Scenes have variety (gardens, churches, ships, palace).
Not so great: 1. The scenes are beautiful - set in the render/3D type art - but they are so lush, that you can't see any other the stuff. Half the time I ended up using hints or just clicking around the scene to find the objects because I couldn't see them or make them out.
** good news: hints are generous, and there is no click penalty.
2. Scenes are repetitive. All HOG's have you going back to the same room or scene. But this has you looking for the same thing (I swear - you look for "a letter" like 10 times).
3. This game missed several good chances to end. After the final mystery is revealed and I was ready to call it done - there are 4 more HOG (3 of the looking for beads (the same object) and more dialogue. The prolonged ending made it much less enjoyable.
4. It is possible to get stuck. In one scene of "find the differences" - There was a difference on backdrop that was so dim and indistinct I couldn't tell what it is. I kept hitting hint and it kept circling the same area. So I would just click around. Because it was a scene and not a puzzle, there was no skip. So I just had to click and click -- after about 5 hint cycles, when I was ready to delete the game, I happened to click the right thing. (Still don't know what it was).
Contrary to many opinions - there are bright fun HOG games on Big Fish - Amazing Adventures, Rome, Mystery P.I. and now Big City Adventures.
I loved this game and its story. The characters are fun and funny. The Hidden Object scenes are a smaller part of the game than other B.C.A's but still important. I found the objects blended in very well and had to use a hint or two along the way. The mini puzzles are doable but not instantly easy. Still, didn't need to skip.
I did get a little lost at first - until i learned the Map really is a great help. The "Walkthrough" button on the game is fantastic. It gives you just the next step -without telling you too much about what to do next so you can figure the rest out yourself.
There were some things I overlooked in scenes and the walkthrough button helped me go back and pick them up.
Overall, great graphics, story, fun and I felt like I'd taken a trip through London.
I bought this as a 2.99 game thinking it would be short or silly, but it turned out to be the best game.
Graphics are great (but some scenes a little dark/shadowed), objects are clear. Collecting the cards as you go through definitely helped the continuity. Music was relaxing. This is one of the few games I left the music on.
The story was interesting and puzzles easy to medium-hard. (Medium hard is the puzzle version of a steak's medium well).
I got a little lost and needed to use the forum a couple times because of times but on the whole it was a fun story and a great game.
Best game quote ever: (not a spoiler) -- "You can't carry a head around! Get a jar!"
I recommend this game!

Murder, She Wrote
Help the world-renowned author, Jessica Fletcher, solve murders! Piece together the clues to crack cases in Murder, She Wrote!
I bought this because I have fond memories of the show - but the game itself is a blast.
A lot of inventive ideas to liven up each Hidden Object Scene - the typewriter keys that type out the lists, things that require 2 or 3 steps, mini-puzzles. The storylines are written just like the show - lots of suspects, and a twist or two.
It's not the hardest game I've played in a while -- but its certainly the most fun.
I recommend this game!

Vacation Quest: The Hawaiian Islands
Your passport to the most beautiful & stunning places in the world begins with Vacation Quest: The Hawaiian Islands!
Fantastic game from Pop-Cap. Not really a "story" but like their "amazing adventures" series - a number of screens and puzzles to complete to get through your vacation.
Graphics are amazing - everything is bright, objects are a good size - not tiny/not huge. The pictures of the ocean meeting the shore look like you could just reach into them.
It's fun to play each vacation "day" and add of the 7 excursions at the end. I played 1 day a day mostly so it was a quick little getaway to Hawaii each day. The trivia and facts were fun, and was the challenge.
