This is a must-have for me. My favorite scenario, yet; post-apocalypse combined with past and future events, all surrounding what you think is some artifact that turns out to be something else. I'm fascinated with this storyline and cannot wait to go through it all. The game technicals are very well done, right down to how the HOPs and mini-games compliment the storyline. You feel like you're there! At least, I did. The visuals are fantastic and the music builds at just the right time to make me want more. This game is for all levels of expertise, just take your time and enjoy how your mind relates. Thanks BFG, this is a winner! Mia
Obviously, I was so caught up in the storyline, that I was surprised when the demo was over. This has to be one of the best DR of the series, yet. Outstanding opening scene, as usual with Eipix (my favorite game designer). This game is thrilling and fun. Searching for Rupert's inhaler was just one example of keeping me on the edge of my seat. AND, the demo threw me a curve ball that I was not expecting, when one character turned out to be an imposter. The music and visuals were perfect for the storyline, which by the way, is fantastic. Just the right amount was given to make me want more, more. There was just the right amount of HOPs and mini-games and they all made sense! I am so glad it's buy one CE, get one CE free this weekend. This one comes highly recommended! Thanks BFG, Mia
This is a solid 4 star game for me, just like the CE. It is fast-paced and keeps you hopping. A witch burned alive 500 years ago comes back for revenge using an unsuspecting woman. Your reputation precedes you from a previous case, and you can't turn down a good Mystery Tale. I like the HOPs; and the mini-games give you the option of Easy or Hard. There were some glitches in the cut-scenes, but that could just be my antiquated computer. The graphics and music are good and the challenge is just right for me. The storyline is a bit too 'fantasical' for me; and some things just don't make sense with no explanation. All in all it's a pretty good game. Thanks, Mia :)
I just loved this demo! I have never played this series before and was pleasantly surprised. First off, it is a great storyline and I don't think I've played it before. A couple fall in love and then the wife goes missing; the husband sinks into despair until a glimmer of hope shines through to find her by playing this odd magical game in a strange town with strangers. There is a beast on the loose and it must be killed before sunrise. Now, pick a card. That is 'you' until the next day or round. The demo gives you two complete rounds and already a few are dead. The visuals and dramatics are awesome, even the voices are exactly how I would imagine them. The challenge was very good and I love how there were two or three scenes on the same page that I had to interact with to go forward. The mini-games were different too, but not too hard. I'm always afraid I won't finish the demo if I stay too long on the games, so I skipped two of them. This is the kind of game that you want to take your time and get 'everything' the first time, yet the sense of urgency is real and I did jump a few times, so the music was perfectly matched. This is a great game and now I'm going to start playing the whole series. Thanks, BFG! Mia
I love this game and have to get it. There are so many things to say about it. How do I begin? First off, the storyline is really good and attention to detail is obvious. It grabs you the minute it starts and doesn't let go. The creepy guy who is doing all the killing, even has a terrifying voice. I sighed heavily when the demo was over. The HOPs and mini-games were relevant to the story and challenging even when choosing Casual or Hard to play them. The music complimented the story very well and kept me on the edge of my seat. It was fun and the sense of urgency was ever present. Of course, the graphics are outstanding and I can't wait to see how it ends. Thank you BFG, this is a good one. Mia.
The storyline is gripping in this tale of murder and a haunted house sold to a family who is unaware of the house secrets. A solid 4 stars for me, because of the lack of sense of urgency that I must have to want to know more. The game was fun and creepy, and it kept me busy trying to find all the keys. The demo only allowed me to find two to unlock the bad guy's lock and get my family back. The HOPs and mini-games were challenging enough and relevant to the storyline. The music could have been a little scarier to set the tone. All in all, it is normal paced game that some should find is all they need to have a great time. I recommend this game. Thanks, Mia.
When a famous shapeshifting alchemist is charged with looking into the murder of the king's most trusted agent and friend, the last thing she expects to discover is an intricate network of shadowy criminals, intent on bringing chaos to the land.
If you are into fantasy and magic this game has it all. Mixing potions, talking animals, you name it, it's got everything. The colors are vibrant and the graphics are very well done. It is an easy flowing game, so there is no real sense of urgency, that I prefer. I also thought the music was just too lyrical for a murder plus fantasy game, it didn't set the right tone for me. However, there is no shortage of things to do and the satisfaction of completing one quest after another makes the structure very good. You don't have to wait until 30 minutes later to complete something, you just keep going. I recommend the game to those that love fantasy. It's just not my cup of tea. Thanks, Mia.
I had a feeling when the opening scene was sung instead of spoken that this one might not be my cup of tea. I was right. I could not get into the story even though the concept is a good one. Time rifts and a train that never stops traveling, saving the world, etc, etc. It would have been a good one, had the music, the graphics, and HOPs been worthy. They were not CE quality to me, and almost amateurish. Perhaps I'm just spoiled, but it did not hold my interest and I had to struggle to finish the demo. It is just okay in my book and might be good for beginners. That would be my recommendation. Thanks, Mia.
I loved the original puppetshow series and for that reason I recommend this game to new folks of hidden object obsession. If you haven't seen the others, be sure to check them out. It is unique and a little creepy, which makes it fun. The visuals are very detailed and the music compliments the storyline. The storyline is lacking for me, because the demo doesn't leave me with that sense of urgency to make me want to see how it ends. There was not enough information given to give that wow factor for me. A young woman calls you, the detective, to her home to find her true love who was kidnapped by some guys in pointy masks. The reason they say is to get a ransom paid by the girl's father, who refuses to pay, of course. It is unknown how humans are transformed into these puppets and seems too complicated to find out. However, it is a fun game and a great series to those who have never experienced it before. Thanks, Mia.
You and your fiance are planning your wedding when an evil man, Bluebeard, threatens death to the man you love if you don't marry him instead. He believes that you will bare him a 'normal' child. You obviously despise this man, whose former wives have all mysteriously disappeared. Legend has it that all his children from before turned into monsters right after they were born. Wow! What a storyline. This is an outstanding game with all the newest ideas for Hidden Object games to come. It took a few attempts to actually get into the HOPs and mini-games, making them more challenging and very unique to the storyline. What a great idea, playing both perspectives of the two lovers, making it fun and exciting too. The graphics and complimentary music were great. I loved the storyline and the fact the female victim fights back. Chopping off the bad guy's head on a statuette is a nice touch. The faith displayed in her true fiance and getting her back safely is encouraging and gives one hope. I highly recommend this game. It's a must-have for sure. Thanks, Mia.
