Another good game from this company. I like a game that flows well, uses objects fairly quickly, takes it easy on the back and forth, has few clear, bold HOS, easy to moderate puzzles and fun mini-games. Decent graphics and voices do not hurt either. I thought this game had it all. Sometimes I like a game with more of a challenge but it has to have a good combination of gameplay and story. I always enjoy a dark twisted tale and zombies are no exception. Everything is put together cohesively and produces a great experience. It doesn't provide a map but there isn't really a need. Besides the Hint button aids when needed. I can't wait to get to the other ERS games.
I recommend this game!

The first thing I noticed about this game was how different it felt than other games I've played. The colour scheme they chose alone set it apart. The story line was also was far from what I'm used to. The change itself made it enjoyable for me. The graphics and voice-overs were great. I usually go for dark themes and more recently fantasy but this was more of a crime drama with a hint of humour. There was 3 options for difficulty level. I chose casual as I like a hint option if needed. Game play itself was fairly easy and there are absolutely no HOS, which I have to admit was a nice change. Puzzles were simple yet somewhat unique. There is no map but the Hint button helps with navigation and game play. This game didn't provide much of a challenge. However, I play HOPA's as much for the story as the challenges so for that reason it was a winner for me. It did need to be longer, too short. Overall, a fun and original game. Not bad at all.
When the entire audience disappears from a film screening at an old theater, you must go behind the scenes to find out who is running the mysterious Nightmare Cinema.
I don't usually buy CE's but I am so glad I bought this one. Fantastic game! Great eerie story line (just the way I like it). It takes place in a old movie theatre...mainly,kinda...you'll have to play to find out. Game play is smooth and entertaining. Besides all the usuals in a game, such as this, there are a ton of varied collectibles in addition to "beyond objects". The graphics and voice-overs are decent. The map is interactive as to avoid all the walking back and forth. It lets you know where an action is needed. And if all that is not enough there is a terrific little Bonus Chapter. It is not a hard game at all but the fun factor makes up for it. However, the difficulty can be customized to suit you. I only wish it could have been even longer. An easy 5 stars for me.

I have played all in this series and this one did not disappoint. The graphics do seem a little old school but they are decent. I enjoy the stories in this series. It does help to have played the others to follow the story. Game play merges well with the plot. There are always several items to collect. I look forward to the next audio tape to disclose more of the mystery. There is a map that displays objectives. The Hint points out an action in a scene to be completed or if there is nothing to be done. There are not as many puzzles as HOS and they are from easy to moderate difficulty. Only down side, less HOS would have been better. This series has continued to improve. Always a pleasure.
I enjoyed this game. The graphics were decent. The many puzzles were moderate to difficult but fairly typical. There is a skip option. It was a little heavy on the HOS. More than I prefer. However, they were not very time consuming and the other tasks kept it moving along. The Hint button informs you of your next move but does not assist with navigation. Unfortunately, there is not a map for reference. I am weak in this area. I get lost easily but I had no problems. You follow your sister's memories. When one memory is completed it opens a new location. The story was interesting but slow and under developed. I would have liked game play to be a little more involved with the plot. Other Grim Tales reviews led me to trying the first of this series. I imagine they only get better. No regrets. I look forward to the next one.
I recommend this game!

I usually buy without playing the hour trial but this time I decided to try it first. I'm glad I did. I found this game very disappointing. Graphically it seemed chunky and old school. Objects were ridiculously easy to find. Mini-games were dull and your skips were limited. The interviewing process was tedious. I wanted to like this game but I found it repetitive and boring.
The graphics in this game are great with a mix of live action and animation. As a psychic you enter an unconscious mind to solve her mystery. The story is intriguing and original. HOS in this game are typical. There are few puzzles but I skipped a few of them. Sometimes you have to think a little outside the box when choosing where to use objects. Items and tasks are often in the general vicinity with some minor traveling. The map indicates unfinished tasks. The hint button offers a statement of your next move but does not aid in navigation. But when an area is completed you move on. Overall the game is somewhat challenging. And the best part...it's long. I absolutely enjoyed my experience. Looking forward to more Surface.
First of all, I thought this game was stunning. The movie sequences, character animations and voice-overs were well done. The creatures were beautiful throughout. HOS and mini-games were of average difficulty. Lots of items were collected and utilized often. It was a pleasure to move forward to each general area without the extreme back and forth. Although I did temporarily get stuck a couple of times. The flow of the game was cohesive.I usually play darker themed games and have only recently started playing more fantasy. The story is light and a lot of fun. I loved this game; it made me want to play more. Can't wait to get to the other Spirits of Mystery.
First of all, this is in no way related to the first Silent Scream which I really enjoyed. In some ways this game is better but although the graphics may have improved I preferred the old animation. The story is a little dark but doesn't have the great creepiness the other had. There are lots of areas to explore but often there is nothing of interest in a room. What a waste of space. Mostly you do lots of HOS to find items to use in you environment with a few simple puzzles. There is no map. The Hint button helps with navigation. That I like. The back and forth isn't nearly as bad as some. I found the story started slow but it began to pick up in time for it to be over. Overall I did have fun playing. I waited for this sequel but I'm afraid it disappoints.
This is one of my favorites by far. Beautiful graphics and an enticing story. Game play is challenging enough without being too easy. Interactive map is always helpful. Had a hard time walking away from this one. Terrific!
