Now, having said that, I LOVED this game, lo! A friend recommended it to me knowing how I feel about HOS and based on her recommendation I tried both of these games in the series. I did not like the first one at all, but this one I really did like. The story line is good and I enjoyed the bantering between some of the characters. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because of the length. I wished there had been at last 3 more cases to solve! I thoroughly enjoyed the review of the patient at the end of each segment. Really made you use your brain to remember all the symptoms, etc. to come up with the right diagnosis. I was impressed with how thorough that segment of the game was. Only complaint I have is that I'm going to have to wait a while to play it again so that I don't remember what the illnesses are when I replay it, lo! Yes, at times you had to return to the same scenes, sometimes more than 2x, but you were asked to look for different objects each time. I also liked the fact that at times you had to open doors, cupboards, move leaves, etc., to find things. All in all I found it totally entertaining and enjoyable. I recommend this game.
I recommend this game!

What a pleasant surprise to begin playing this game and see all the different ways of doing it. The added HOS and the unique story line. The music was wondrous, the visual/sound was great, the level of challenge was just where it should be (for me at least) and diversified as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this game, short as it was, it will definitely become a "go to" game for me after a long day! I highly recommend it!

It has been so long since BF brought out a decent TM game I had almost given up hope. This game is just what I wanted! I absolutely love it, with the new features of having to deal with raging fires, earthquakes, avalanches, snow storms, floods, etc! Mother Nature runs amuck in this totally new innovative and at times "edge of your seat" game! There was one level I had to play 5 times to get through! I think it was level 32 or 33, and there were a few more towards the end of the game that I found especially challenging as well. I love the fact that you can play relaxed or clicker, or advanced. Make your own challenge! The animals that need to be rescued make their own "voices" heard as the kitties purr, and the dogs bark. It is a totally FUN game for me with all the elements of a good TM game and I highly recommend it!

I loved the first in this series and I was absolutely lost in the gripping story of the second! But it's been waaaay tooooo long a wait for No. 3!!!! Where oh where is it? We definitely need MORE stories/games like this one. So well done! Please hurry up with No. 3!!!
This is a very relaxing game for me and currently one of my main "go to" games. I am handicapped and I love this game because I can win most of the levels even on the timed mode. I always root for the underdog so I was captured immediately by the young lady who took up for her grandfather to save the railroad from the dastardly banker. lo! It is really fun and I highly recommend it for ages 8 to 100!

I was afraid this one was going to be another like the "westward series" which I never have understood, could not play, and wouldn't try if you gave me one for free! Instead I was so delighted to find that this was totally different, easy to understand and navigate and I somehow felt close to this poor woman and her son. I didn't care about building the train, although I did quite well at it, I just wanted to see her accomplish her goals. To me this was a great story line, graphics were clear and realistic. There is definitely a challenge if you choose to go that way, but you don't have to, you aren't being timed. I would so love to see more games along this line! I highly recommend it, but try the free hour and decide for yourself.
Baldor can be my hero any day. Now Charles is a different story, not so crazy about him. I am playing on the "go easy on me, I'm new here" mode, and have yet to get past Chapter 3....in the middle of it now. Charles is the guy you meet (grim reaper) when you lose all 3 of your lives. There is no rush, hurry, got to get this, or go find that, believe it or not, the game can be played at a leisurely pace. You just have to be ready once the bad guys attack. Despite the cartoonish look, this is a very serious game. I think the storyline is endearing; a knight out to win his lady's hand. I find the visual quite different from what I'm used to but am enjoying it immensely. The music seems to fit each different chapter as you move along. The challenge on the mode I'm playing is getting harder and harder, but I'm going to plod along as long as I can still win, however I can see that the challenge is going to be far more than I can probably handle before too long. Please don't let my last comment deter any of you from trying this game, after all, I'm 72 years young and if I can do it, you can too.
This was a great leap from the same ole same ole HOGs where u search for the name of an object til u find it. This game gives u three objects at a time to find and they are set in little boxes at the bottom of the screen. If you cannot find the object there is a "?" under the box you can click on and it will show you a picture of the item. Makes it much easier as some of the smaller items are hard to distinguish. I have only played the free trial so far, but I am enjoying it so much I intend to buy it and finish the game. I cannot comment on the end of the story, but so far I find it intriguing and can't wait to see what happens....does she find her missing uncle? Is he dead? Why did he leave clues all over the place? Did he know he was going to leave abruptly...was it planned? So many questions, so few answers to date, lo! Personally I find this a most refreshing type of HOG, wish the objects were a little easier to see, but the unique way in which it is presented is great as far as I am concerned! The added fun of being able to "decorate" this dilapidated old house is also a major plus in my book! I recommend you try the free trial and make your own decisions, but I am buying it now!
I recommend this game!

Oh how I wish there were more HOGs like this one!! There were no dark scenes, no monsters, no scary stuff, but it was totally engrossing! The time frame was what first drew me to the game as it isn't one I've encountered before and it was kept true through the entire game...by that I mean the clothes, the language, the backgrounds, everything was done true to the time. Valerie Porter is a novice to the newspaper business but she moves up very quickly as the story unfolds. She faces some difficult scenes as she learns her craft but handles them very well. I found the storyline engrossing as were the characters she becomes involved with. The mini games were fun and some of them were totally new to me. The VO's were excellent, the music was totally in the background and didn't become annoying to me at any time. The scenes were clear, not fuzzy or dark. I didn't find the game truly "challenging", but I've only had it a week and have already played it 3x! lo! Don't want to burn out on it, so took it off my play list for a while. Try it, you may find it a really pleasant break from the usual HOG's we've been getting.
I love adventure stories, I love mysteries, I love a good sense of humor! This game has them all! The two main characters are done really well and I found them both entertaining. Joey has a sense of humor which I find a bit unusual for a ghost and totally refreshing! Rose is believable in her part and the story grabbed me from the beginning. The graphics are totally "old school", and (for me) just added to the story line. I guess I was so totally engrossed in the story that I didn't even hear the music if there is any as I don't remember it. I now own all of the series, have played 2 of them all the way through, and yes, they are a bit short, but the story line and characters made up for that for me. I only wish there were MORE of this type of game and I hope WadeEye Jet doesn't stop now! I totally recommend this game and the others in the series!
