After my great disappointment with Moonfell Wood I might not have continued the series if I hadn't bought the first three Awakenings all in one shot.
So many things to praise here.
The game is broken into chapters with new locations so you aren't back tracking through 15 scenes to interact on an starter room. Really makes you feel like you are progressing the story line.
The puzzles are more intuitive. They fit the story and theme (castles, etc) A mix of minigames from tangrams, pipe pathways, and match 3s and even a _few_ jigsaws. I was well entertained and pleased. Plus the hidden objects have more interaction as well!
Many more characters to meet, interact with and be amused by. Clear, sensible goals from them that keep you immersed in game play.
The various achievements that pop up when earned are simple yet still rewarding.
Appropriate game length and difficulty. I only skipped 2 mini games and total play duration was 4 hours 6 minutes.

EVERY thing you want in a solitaire game!
*One-use Power ups that you buy as needed with coins you earn playing. This way you aren't using several 'cheats' every round as you level up. (Example, going back one turn)
*Cute graphics and unique artistry that isn't the usual (read: over done) 'modest' female heroine in every chat scene
*Music and Storyline that are simple and enjoyable, so that you're not mashing the mute or skip button after a couple hours.
*A large catalog of items you will need to collect throughout the levels. Not only do you watch your character move along the track but its also satisfying to peek at your collection progress, knowing there is much more to come.
*The bonus cards (such as bombs) and card blockers have fun release animations that keep you perked up.
It's a very fun and laid back game, but with more bells, whistles and flash animation than other card games I've purchased on Big Fish. This one holds my interest better when I'm looking to kick back and zone out, but not in the mood to focus on a puzzle/HO/match 3 game.
I recommend this game!

After playing the Dreamless Castle I was so excited to continue the series that I bought the next two. Only to be irritated by the quality of Moonfell. There are very few hidden object puzzles, over half are overly simple "find 10 of this" or "removes pairs of that" and 90% of all the other puzzles are jigsaw in nature. I repeatedly have to turn off the game and come back when I'm in the mood to do 10 arrange-the-picture or assemble-the-item puzzles in the space of 20 mins of game play -- because that's all this game has to offer. Its longer than the first in the series, which is nice. It still has the same lovely music and enchanting visuals but other games are simply more rounded by offering varied challenges. I've re-assembled broken glass and shattered statues so often that (even though I'm a completion-ist) I started hitting the skip button without the slightest desire to manually assemble.
I don't recommend this game.

A bit on the short side with fun but not too challenging puzzles. I rarely needed hints. The fairy tale world was adorable and girly, with scenes that were lovely and magical. I very much enjoyed playing this game through for a total of 2 hours and 40 mins. I'm looking forward to playing the other games in the series, of which I already bought several.
