What a charming game! It has plain but sinister looking blocks. No, it doesn't have a lot of flash and bang sequences when you make matches. Nor does it have fancy power ups to buy. It has only two power ups to help you, one that refills from match 4s rather quickly and a slower but more screen clearing one, refilled by match 5s. Even with the monotonous music it was addictive and hard to put down because the objectives change 10 times in the game. Simple sounds such as the scream of ghosts as they are removed, to simple animation, like creepy demon bugs crawling up your screen, make for satisfying game play when you defeat these challenges. The same for watching the cursed house transform. The only thing it lacks is a story or the ability to free play your favorite levels.
I recommend this game!

I downloaded the trial because the pictures were cute. I bought it after 20 minutes of play because the hidden object fun factor was sky high. I finished in 2 days and normally I never play for so many consecutive hours. Pros: ---Its not a hard game but it has many helpful options besides Hints. Magnets that make the objects you are looking for wiggle if you scroll over, a cat in each scene that if you wake will causes all HOs on your current list to wiggle for 5 seconds. Party Poppers that flash then remove all but the HOs for just a split second. What more of a challenge? Simply don't click on the hidden magnets, poppers, or cat. ---I looooooooooooooooved that you clean each room a few times, 3 levels per room removing more objects until each room in the hotel is clutter free. Such a good feeling, who needs to clean my own house!? ---The inn and grounds are improved with the coins you earn. There are many gorgeous upgrades. Inside the rooms are lavish and themed. ---All of the objects are exactly what they say they are and are recognizable. No being asked to find garden sheers when the object you click on is actually pliers. Cons: The game is on the shorter side. I couldn't find a screensaver option.
I recommend this game!

I love to play seasonally appropriate games. A week before the first day of Spring I bought this game and I'm just about finished the day after Mother's day. I played a few levels a day, couple days per week. Never got bored, Always happy to hear the "pop" sound effect.
What I love about this game: 1. The game is not difficult, but its not too easy either (if you play timed mode, which I always do). Nearly all levels I completed on the first try. I'm currently on level 94/100, which I have failed four times. If it were to become frustrating I can always take timed mode off. 2. The objects to match are bright primary colors that are a breeze to differentiate. 3. The sound effects are fun, power ups sound just as they should, twittering birds and ice melting sun rays that go with the graphics. What I don't like: Just one thing. In my opinion, you have to love Match 3s to finish this game. The level goals and flow of the game aren't varied at all. And, despite what the description says about helping the Easter bunny, there is not the tiniest drop of story. No town to construct, no decorations to put up means there's no "Oooooo, what will I get next?" Just lots and lots of matching. I don't know that I would ever replay this game but I am happy I bought it.
Couldn't get through the free trial. The pictures are hideous and plain. Imagine you are a kid and loved a particular movie, and you ask your parents for a jigsaw puzzle of it. So your parents find ugly photos vaguely similar to the movie with various other objects cut and pasted into the scene. That collage was then printed and cut up, preschool level jagged with a pair of clunky scissors, and finally presented to you with a "Ta-duh!" You'd be scarred for life. You'd also have better pictures than what is in here. That being said it is at least extra challenging. Its hard to guess placement of objects that wouldn't normally be there. That wonderful sense of accomplishment I get after finishing a puzzle is instead replaced with an "ewww" when I saw each completed picture, which made it a pass for me.
I don't recommend this game.

The game play in Beach Party Craze is everything done right in a time management and strategy game. The graphics are rather ugly and cartoonish BUT its very easy to see who needs what, where you need you to be and when each task is getting done. Sound effects are not only cute but useful indicators of when an item has arrived or is in use. You can replay a level for silver/gold to get more stars (money) for future upgrades. If you bomb a level you can still finish it as slow as necessary to at least grab those stars. There is certainly strategy in this game. Frustratingly so until about 8 levels in when I understood how to best use upgrades and advertising. If your goal is to sell X burgers and X cocktails but first you have to purchase each shop to make these items (which is done while playing the round) then you will have to experiment to see which will earn the necessary amount of profit to build a second then third shop. The type of products, services and shops required varies, which makes each level feel unique instead of one obvious step passed the previous level. Still, it can get monotonous because the graphics aren't inspiring and there is little story. (Though I'd rather a game is short on story then long on a boring plot.) This is not a game where I'd park in front of my PC with relentless determination until I had beat it in a couple days. But whittling it away a few levels per day is extremely satisfy. You feel as if you EARNED that gold trophy. That's always my hope going into a new game: that the time I invest playing it will be worth it. In this case, as a strategy lover, yes!
There was really no reason to make this game this hard. I adore timed M3s and feel compelled to complete every level on expert/hard, even if that means replaying a level 15 times because I’m just a few points or a few seconds short. A good game should require a mix of player skill, strategy, power ups and a bit of luck. (Who doesn’t love the feeling of making a match then seeing half a dozen more matches fall down like rain?) In an hour of play I see zero power ups, just the ability to buy more expensive recipes. (Expert = cash goals, Normal = number of customers served.) You get very few coins for completing each level so unless the coin rewards change drastically later on there is no way you could buy all the recipes. The difficulty steadily scales up for each level but you can’t buy upgrades a fraction of that fast. Levels can be repeated endlessly but you only get coins the first time you met each goal. If you want to casually play then the game is cute fun. The food icons are attractive and easily distinguished. The match board is large and it’s all rapid clicking, no dragging items to customers. The achievements for regular mode are very reasonable. The hidden object scenes are clear and enjoyable. The music is upbeat and the sound effects such as sizzling food or jingling change are immersive. Strategy lovers, however, might want to pass. I suppose instead of power ups the game provides different types of customers. Patient children, impatient business men who tip well, food critics that want huge dishes, etc. Because some customers have different acceptable wait times and number of ingredients needed you can click on a person’s order to prioritize matches to them. Sounds like another lever of strategy, right? It’s a pointless joke! What does it matter if you can push out a recipe in a particular order to let the more patient people wait 20 seconds for their order? To achieve expert level you had better be serving someone about every 6 seconds or the shop will close before you get enough customers. Period.
This game is a pass for me. A shame because, although it’s nothing unique, it still has charm.
It wasn't for me, but not by any flaw of the game. I just prefer to speed match my M3s. I liked that this game takes some thought, especially with limited moves, but the game play is just a touch too slow for my taste. I never play relaxed mode on M3s and live for the bam-bam-bam-bam stream of combo moves as they scroll down. That being said the icons were just adorable and easy to differentiate. The HO minigames were fun and (shock!) items are where they SHOULD be located (trophies on a top shelf, drinking glass on a table top, etc.) Didn't play much of the story line but the characters so far were fun to read and the music and sound effects were theme appropriate. I jumped when the game started up with a gun shot, haha. Definitely worth checking out.
I was quite excited about the theme and immediately hit 'download trial' when I discovered this game existed. A Christian game with a message? What's not to love?
Ahem
The voice overs are horrible. I felt like I was playing a 1980 arcade game with synthesized robotic speech. Siri has more emotion when she lists the closest tire repair shop in my area.
The tiles are primary and similar in color and aren't as easy to distinguish for rapid matches.
I can't speak for the challenge level because I deleted it after 10 minutes.
I'd love to see more positive/religious/wholesome titles, but not at the sacrifice of the main reason I make a purchase on Big Fish: good game play.
I did not like the way the playing card style tiles aren't numbered. 1-6 has no number, instead it will have five diamonds or six spades on the tile, etc. So when you are given the levels that require you to pair tiles to equal 14 its a hassle because your brain wants to add numbers together not pictures. In another style of matching you are given domino style tiles. Great, I can easily add pairs up to equal 7. Nope. You also have to match the colors and all the tiles have a washed out tone to them. Dark khaki, medium brown, yellow brown, blue and bluish green. Annoying. It eats up time on the level for no good reason. (Match 3 games are also ruined by hard to differentiate colors.) Only 2 of the 7 game styles were fun and traditional Mahjong wasn't even one of them because there are better examples out there. I couldn't get through the hour trial.
I don't recommend this game.

Pictures are darling. The kind of stuff you expect to see on puzzles boxes or in home-making magazines.
I particularly enjoy the Border Button which makes all non-border pieces vanish until you call them back.
My rating is based on the smaller puzzles. The 200+ piece puzzles, especially the ones that require rotating, have some issues in my opinion. First the pieces are crazy small and the magnify function isn't very useful. Second the pieces don't appear as if they would fit, often I have to go by color or pattern and I'm more of a shape finder. (Decades of puzzling from boxes; I'm rather new to digital format.)
I'd knock the score down a star if I cared for the larger puzzles but the 50-150 are the only ones I'm after and there are plenty. Those deserve 5 stars in my opinion. No stress, no squinting. Just rapid, satisfying clicks as pieces fall into place.
