I did the Beta on this one and it is one of the games that I have been impatiently waiting for. :hang: The story line (nice twist on the fairy tale), Graphics (playful, rich and colorful), Game play (I'm a fan of FO), Mini games (very imaginative) and Extras (love collectibles and this game has a multiple variation) all are well done. Some will say that there is a repeated familiarity in style with this series but it's not surprising. I look at this Dark Parables series as I would a set of books on fairy tales. I want the continuity. The repeated style fits for me and is to be expected. It's like moving on to the next tale. I was very disappointed when the beta ended and said so with 3 !!! in my notes. It's an auto buy for me.

I bought this sequel without a demo. Really enjoyed the first so I was happy to discover the devs have created another. It's true that it has it's similarities with Monopoly since your objective is to be the most successful but it is more interactive. You have the option to build hotels, factories or stores on your property with each having it's own specific advantages. Keep upgrading and rake in more money. Buy larger and larger vehicles to carry more and more stock to sell on your stops around the city. The goods you buy and sell (which are native to each city) and also when and where to sell are optional to you but help to gain funds. Some cities you will make a profit and others you will take a loss so select your sales. Their are cards that will help you control the game, random events that pop up and you are given varied tasks to preform for rewards if you choose. There is a Casino if you care to to do a little gambling. After the first round ( which is basically a training round) you can choose to customize the amount of competitors you have. You learn what famous buildings and structures exist in each city with each board showing you how the cities are laid out. There is an element of strategy to this game that as it steps up in pace becomes addictive. This is not a timed game. Each one of the many rounds will average about 2 hours and it will never play the same way twice. Though I am not normally a "Board game" fan I found this to be fun. One of those that's easy to come back to when you want to kill some time. If you visit the BF forums you can get more info under the reviews.
I've bought it... the DL is complete... I'm off to play!
Try before you buy! Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

Straight ahead scrabble game Does not play in full or wide screen. In full screen fills outside perimeter with black. I enjoyed the light jazz refrain playing in background but may get repetitive for some. Options: Play solo or up to 4 players. Classic game plays until all tiles are used. Other options- Play to 75 or 150 points Play 8 or 12 rounds *"Best word" will make the highest scoring word for you if desired. *Scrabble teacher is available in solo mode and compares best word with word you have chosen. * Dictionary available for use allowing you to look up words while showing you all available 2 letter words.
Nothing fancy but clean graphics that are easy to read. I enjoy scrabble and this played smoothly. Its a buy for me to keep on my desktop.

Absolutely love this!! I was fan long ago of the sim building games Caesar/ Zeus/ Poseidon etc. distributed by a "desert named company" that no longer exists. With the exception of the music this is a simplified casual game version of the original Caesar right down to the "brigands". Build a roman city with homes, hospitals, markets, farms, barracks ..etc. 30 levels of gradually increasing difficulty and no timer. You can even decide if you want to end a level or just continue building. As to the music...in options you can turn it off and retain all the other sound effects. Personally I would recommend this completely if you remember fondly the games I mentioned.

A high/low solitaire game that hits the right notes if you like a fantasy story to go along with your card games. Lots of bonuses to purchase and colorful graphics. You will be required to complete a tutorial which is actually the first level but is useful in explaining the bonuses and pop ups. Occasionally random hidden object scenes occur between rounds which I actually found unnecessary but were simple "find 10 of something". The card game itself increased in challenge as I progressed which was a pleasure. I personally could have done without the story line but it does contribute goals to accomplish and the card game is well constructed and interesting to play. As the title said....it's definitely not "Fairway" but if you like high/low you will probably enjoy this.

I am moving under the assumption that this is an older game. No bells or whistles here. Graphics are clean, music light and unobtrusive. H0's are old style but fairly well done. Only encountered one spelling error in the trial. Play in mind of elimination of possibilities for some items on your list..i.e. ... if your list says watch and there is only a clock in the scene obviously the clock. ....there is a difference between a parasol and an umbrella ..."curling" due to elimination = curling iron. Play goes as follows: H0 scene/puzzle... H0 scene/puzzle... Just a straight ahead Hidden Object followed each time by a standard puzzle with a light story thread. None are difficult though you can skip the puzzles. If you are looking for a relaxing game this would qualify.

I truly enjoyed this romp through a piece of history. The continuity, graphics and music are all well done. (One piece of music actually reminded me of a certain movie based on a Tolkien series.) Options for 2 levels of play. The story line held my interest throughout. The H0Gs were your standard interactive fare (with sparkles even in challenge mode) but the puzzles were unique, well done and a delightful mix of very easy & oh so slightly challenging. You can choose to have instructions or figure them out for yourself. The game is not your standard linear format and new areas open up as the game progresses. You can roam freely. This adds a little challenge as to where to go next. At no time did my inventory become overly full but this is not a case of find it/ use it. Some things you will carry until a later time. I did think that the play got easier on the second half but it may have been a case of simply getting into the rhythm of the game. The length of play was average and I didn't feel shorted. Over all this is not a difficult game but it also is not boring. Just a fun time.

Such a simple game with such a simple concept that moves between oh so easy and Oh My Gosh! You start out with a few single word pictures and a few random letters. Combine the pictures with the letters. Easy enough? How many words can you make? You would think it's so simple but it's surprising how having a picture can change your perception on spelling. If you're into word games this will definitely pull you in. No extra bells or whistles just great word play. Try the demo and see if you're not hooked at the end. Happy Gaming!

Nice change of pace from all the spookiness. Save your Mother, a former film star from a crazed director. The entire game has you wandering a movie studio and the props are entertaining. Full screen for me. Scenes are very clear and colorful. HOs are plentiful and non-interactive. The objects clear and appropriate. Music is unobtrusive. Puzzles are nice new twists. No need for aimless wandering since the map will take you where you need to go once you have collected the needed map and item. It also alerts you to locations that you need to visit. Options for easy or difficult. I had a good time playing this though the length for me was just over two hours. The theme was quite imaginative and I wish it had been longer. Other than the length and wishing there was a little more interaction I have no complaints.

The I Spy series is great for kids and adults alike and really great to do together. The colors are bright. The sounds and animations are playful and the games in general are fun. These are great "First H0GS" for anyone especially young children and a nice pickup game if you are a more seasoned player who just wants to relax. This one has more story and puzzles than most of the others in the series making it a little more challenging. Not hard mind you just a little more than it's sister games. This was my kids favorite out of the entire line and I enjoyed it too. My rating relates to it as a younger players game.
