Sorry, I couldn't help myself! When a Dana Knightstone games includes an animal helper, what can we do but joke? Not a live animal helper, but what appears to be a Border Collie ghost! That's right, a ghost dog, a creepy looking one at that, is our helper in this latest addition to the Dana Knightstone lineup.
These games, both for me and my adult daughter, have been going downhill. This one is much too easy, much too similar to all the other games released this past year. The HOS and puzzles are ordinary and simple. Pretty graphics, but I don't buy and play games for the pretty graphics!
Even if you are a fan of the series, and I used to be, please do yourself a favor and demo it before buying, even with the weekend's sale.

I rarely review like this, but I feel the game is getting undeserved negative reviews. I encourage any player to demo this game and see for themselves what it's like! It's one of those "hate it" or "love it" games. It's actually quite good. Lovely graphics. The hidden objects are very well hidden, so you can't just randomly click (my habit!) to find most of them. The story is cute and clever, with Alice returning to Wonderland. It isn't perfect. Items need to be dragged into place. There are large icons to tell us where to go or what to do. But, it's just so "durn" fun I can overlook those problems! I enjoyed the music, and the Cheshire Cat's purring, along with his tidbits of trivia (which you can ignore if you choose). If you want the same ol' thing, with simple HOS and a fast pace, you won't like this game. If you have been asking for something different, here it is.

I don't usually review on this page, but wanted to counteract the poor reviews this game does not deserve! It's a cute little game! Fun. Not a TM, which may account for the low reviews, since people expected it to be.
You visit a location on the map, to prepare a regional recipe. First a HOS where you find the ingredients, then a puzzle to prepare it. The puzzles differ by location. Nothing strenuous, but fun. The graphics are lovely! I had no problems identifying any needed objects.
It's the kind of game you can play when you don't want to get into a deep story. You can play one location within a short time, and stop for a while. Not challenging in the least, but I still like it!
Yes, that's what I said, this is my favorite game so far this year! I won't comment on the glitches so many are having, because it wouldn't be fair to take off stars for something others had, as my game ran perfectly from start to finish.
What I liked best was the variety in the game. Puzzles, HOS, FROGs, Match 3 boards that were not all the same type. You make potions using the vial by putting recipes and ingredients from the inventory. Or, you get help from the "white witch" for one. I actually had to skip a couple of puzzles! There was one that is a type my brain just can't get around. The match 3s were a joy (although I would love to see them slide next game!), as the tiles fit the scenes.
I played (and finished) on the hardest mode, and it was challenging. Yes, there were still some sparkles for the HOS, but the rest was left up to me to figure out. The puzzles had instructions, and many of them, and the match 3, allowed a few hints before you could skip.
There were times I had no idea what to do next, only to realize it was my mistake, not a glitch! Like when I hit a wall in the cave with the crystals. Well... SPOILER... I finally went back and tried everything, and when I put the crystals in the cart, I was through that wall!
I liked this game so much I went to the developers website and sent them a message telling them so! Don't let the lack of a walk-through stop you from playing this game (it gets even better after the demo)! See it as a fun challenge! Play it on the hard mode and you won't say it's "for beginners!"

You can have your furry little animal helpers (collect coins and you can even upgrade the ermine's tail!), without an overdose of cute? Why no overdose? Because YOU get to rescue them from horrible abuse! Leg-hold traps. Deep icy wells. Even a little mouse glued into a cage by his feet. It's all in fun!
The puzzles are the easiest I have ever seen outside a game specifically made for children. The items in the HOS are obvious, mostly because they are sitting a bit above the background graphics.
I would understand if this were from a new developer, or an old game, but as one of the Myths of the World, this game is really quite bad. If you liked the other, this will be an unwelcome surprise.
Yes, this game has some new ideas! Great! But I found the puzzles and HOS to be much too easy. They are original, clever, and beautiful, but I want a bit more challenge. Counting vases and curtains, or checking the color of a pot is not what I look for in a puzzle.
The custom settings are not what they say they are. I set them for no objectives, yet there they were, every time. Also, sparkles remain for some items, regardless of setting it for no sparkles.
The collectibles are ordinary. I only saw morphing objects in the HOS, and they weren't very interesting ones.
The demo is the first 2 chapters. Of how many? They keep that secret, which often means it's short! The second chapter was especially short.
I can't understand all the perfect reviews for this game. Add a few new things to a hum-ho game and everyone goes nuts! It's like Malibu Stacy and her new hat! (Please get the allusion, people!)
This game is one of few match-3 games that I consider just perfect! It is so much fun. The play is quick, and it can be timed or not, so should please every player!
The graphics are wonderful, and creepy enough for adults (me) without too much for the kids. Decorating your house is fun, since we do that in real life too.
If you like match-3 games, you'll love this one! If you don't, try it anyway, it's a fun holiday diversion. I want to play "just one more board...just one more board..."

Full marks for fun factor, but OK for the rest. Why? Fun Factor: It's really fun! Level of Challenge: It isn't challenging (I will admit one puzzle has stumped me, but I am sure it will be a misunderstanding on my part). The HOS are well done, with interactive elements. Visual/Sound Quality: The visuals and sounds are just beautiful, but the cut scenes cut in and out. Mostly blank with text, sometimes blank. The game itself is very, very pretty. Storyline: The story is hard to follow, if only because the cut scenes do not work correctly. Fix them and I would give the game a full 5 stars! (I expect the developer has by now become aware of this, and is working on a fix.)
Don't hesitate to demo at least. The game itself is much better than I expect. It is just the cut scenes that are bad. (A few odd errors here and there, like forgetting to translate a black bar tip, etc. but that happens to anyone!)
It's an SE with achievements and collectibles! And guess what? You have a tool belt with a permanent knife and lighter! Yes! No more searching for a sharp glass shard to cut a rope, only to need a pair of scissors to cut a string in the next room! Plus a cute hint-helper who isn't so cute you gag! And you don't have to feed or dress or play games with him. But, he is so cute when he sleeps after helping you!

I was disappointed in this new entry in the Haunted Legends series. I thought The Queen of Spades was an outstanding game, one of the best as far as what I look for in a game.
I demoed this with my adult daughter, and we both thought is was much too easy. Some "puzzles" took 3 moves, or were solvable without even understanding the instructions! The HOS were ordinary. Very linear play. The weird little guy used to be more mysterious, now he's "in your face." The "collectibles" are a let down, and we didn't quite understand what was with the growing flowers side game. We play a detective, not a horticulturist!
Be sure to try yourself! We felt this one just wasn't as fun as the others.
This was such a surprise this morning! If I could change one thing about this game it would be to take away the sparkles indicating a HOS. Other than that, just perfect! Really! The graphics are crisp, clean, realistic. The HOS are items that are appropriate to the scene. No radios in the pond, or pineapples under the bathroom sink! The puzzles are actually harder than most! This game takes some time to play, as many inventory items are behind, under, or hidden in some way. This gives the player credit for some brains, as you don't stumble over that pair of scissors you need, or just happen to see a hammer hanging on a branch. Things are much more like real life! This is the first time I bothered to make a review other than on the game forum page, but this game is worth so much more than the current 3 stars! Engaging story. Harder puzzles. Well done HOS. Excellent graphics. What's not to love?
