This is a fantastic game and definitely worth playing.
Lynn and Edward have been married now for 1 year. However, Lynn gets kidnapped by Morgana and Mathias and Edward gets turned into a doll. Edward stays in your inventory and helps out by making tools, etc from his tool belt.
You can turn off Hint, Skip and Sparkles and turn on the HO penalty. I love having these features to make it as hard as I can.
There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Normal, Hard and Custom modes of play; * Interactive map; * Imp to help you locate objects out of your reach.
The graphics are fabulous - colourful, crisp and easy on the eye. Its very easy to roam around and find everything you need. There are no dark or blurry bits anywhere.
Sound and music are very good. Music is orchestral and plays quietly in the background.
The interactive HOS had a variety of silhouette and straightforward. Some were find one item to use to locate another item, etc. These had a good challenge to them, but not too difficult. If you don't feel like doing HOS then you can play matching pairs instead.
I loved the great variety of mini-games. Some were move the figurines to the right slots; lead the train to the tunnel; clear the board of tokens; connect the dots on the constellation; light up all the gems; burn the blocks according to numbers; collect all the plants (that one was hard); move the crystals to the bases that match their colour, etc. Some of these mini-games had a really good challenge which took some time to do. However, wine helps!
The interactive map shows where tasks are to be performed in case you get stuck. I found I didn't need to use it because you don't have to venture off too far and its easy to remember where tasks are to do. But its there if you need it.
So, do you get the CE or SE? Personally I found the CE definitely worth buying. It has 33 morphing objects and 36 puzzle pieces to find, which have a good challenge. The bonus is a good length too, where you play Lynn to find and help Edward and to defeat Mathias before midnight. All up the game and bonus took me about 8 hours, give or take.
Definitely recommended. I loved it and can't wait for the next episode.

There are 33 morphing objects to find which I found to be quite hard. Some of them were easy to spot but I really had to look hard to find the others. If you find them all then you get an achievement.
There are 36 puzzle pieces to find. These were easier to spot than the morphing objects. Once you collect them, then go to the puzzles box, do the very simple puzzles and then read about each character. You also get an achievement if you locate them all.
The interactive map shows where tasks are to be performed and to locate the morphing objects and puzzles, in case you get stuck. I found I didn't need to use it because you don't have to venture off too far and its easy to remember where tasks are to do. But its there if you need it.

In this game you play Christine, the granddaughter to Charles, along with your husband Viggo, to find out who killed Charles.
There are:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Easy, Normal, Difficult and Custom modes; * Interactive map; * Journal; * Listen to the audio tapes.
The graphics are mostly quite good. There are a few cluttered scenes where I had to look carefully around. Colour is good and not garish with lots of pinks and blues, etc. Sound and music are fine. Music is mainly piano and orchestral.
There were a good variety of hidden object games. These predominantly were straightforward and silhouette. There were a couple of HOS where a question was asked and you answered by getting the correct item. Some of the HOS were very cluttered and hard to see, but eventually I slowly got them all.
The mini-games were quite good and had a good variety. Some of them were sliding puzzles, balance the scales, direct light through the prisms; matching pairs; matching keys; putting out yellow candles and keeping purple candles lit; rearranging tiles, copy the tune of the piano keys, etc. None of these were too hard and I didn't spend much time on them.
I found I didn't need to use the interactive map at all. You don't venture off more than a few steps and you tend to stay within the same area until all tasks had been completed.
Personally I think this game is much bettered suited as a SE rather than a CE. The reason for this is in the CE you can replay the HOS and mini-games and collect the theatre masks. However, doing a couple of extra puzzles may not be enough for some fishies (myself included). So if you are tossing up between the two, then get the SE.
In the main game you play aunty who has to rescue Lynn who has been kidnapped. In the bonus game you play the imp to find Wolfgang and get the sphere.
There is:
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Normal, Hard and Custom modes; * 12 Achievements; * Interactive map; * Find 35 morphing objects; * Find 40 puzzle pieces; and * Imp to help you get objects out of your reach.
I played on Custom Mode and turned off Hint, Skip, Sparkles, etc to make it harder. However, you can change your mode of play at any time.
The graphics are certainly better in this game than they were in the previous two. I didn't find them anywhere near as grainy or blurry this time. The colours are very bright but you can see everything perfectly.
Sound was good. I liked the music which was orchestral and very pretty. However, most of the time you are playing in relative silence.
The hidden object games were all straightforward and slightly interactive. You play each HOS twice. These were quite a jumbled mess but the items were not hard to find. Alternatively, you can play matching pairs instead. I did do one but got bored and preferred to do the HOS instead.
The mini-games were very easy to play and no challenge at all. Some of these were slide the grates to expose the hole, make flowers bloom at the same time, repeat the sequence on the piano, guide the imp through the maze, move the blocks out of the way, match the eye colours, etc. Good practice for a beginner.
The 35 morphing objects were mostly easy to find. A couple were quite well hidden.
The 40 puzzle pieces are collected as you go and put in your journal. Click on puzzles and there are 5 very easy jigsaw puzzles to do and then find out more about each character.
If you find all the morphing objects and puzzle pieces, then you get achievements. Not hard to do.
All up the game and bonus took me about 5 hours, but I didn't spend very long on the mini-games which could have pushed the time up.
I'm now about to start on Part 4 - Witches Legacy - Ties that Bind.
I haven't played a love story for a long time. I enjoyed this. There is:
* Voiceovers; * Casual, Advanced and Hardcore modes of play; * Interactive map; * Journal; and * Artist's palette.
I played on Hardcore mode which had hints and skip turned off. However, the game isn't too hard to play.
The graphics in the game are superb and I enjoyed roaming around and collecting items to use.
Sound and music are good.
You have an artists palette where you have to find different colours to paint to make items come alive. You can't do this until you find the binders that go with them. I found these fun to do.
The hidden object games are slightly interactive. Most of them were straightforward, putting items back and a couple of silhouettes. These were not hard to do because the graphics are very clear and not jumbled or blurry.
The mini-games were really good fun. Some of them were getting the bear into the trap; find so many mermaids, crowbars; fix the piano, put the pawns to their respective colours, etc. They were not too hard but there was no hand holding either. A few took a while to get in the right order, etc.
If you do get stuck, don't worry. The interactive map gives you a clue where tasks are to be performed. You don't have to go off on long hikes to get items you need as you pretty much stick around the same areas.
All up the game took me around 4 hours, give or take. I was disappointed when the game ended. I wish I had got the CE version now, but I didn't realise there was one until I went to do this review. Never mind.
Definitely worth putting in your collection. This is an enjoyable game with good HOS and mini-games, interesting characters with a quirky side to them. Happy playing - you will enjoy this one.
This is Part 2 of the series. The other three are the Charleston Curse, Hunter and Hunted and Ties that Bind.
There is:
* Voiceovers; * Casual, Normal, Hard and Custom modes of play; * Journal; * 12 Achievements; * Interactive map; * Find 42 morphing objects; * Find 45 puzzle pieces; and * Imp to help you get objects out of your reach.
In the Custom mode you can turn off Hint and Skip modes to make it more challenging - yippee, love that option.
The graphics are okay but they are still grainy and cluttered. However, there is no trouble at all finding the objects and you clues you need.
The hidden object games were slightly interactive - some hidden or need an extra item to complete. You will mainly do each HOS twice. These were very cluttered and could take a while to do. However, if you don't feel like doing them, then you can play matching pairs instead. I did a bit of both.
I enjoyed doing the mini-games. Some of these were opening the portal, pressing the planets in the right order, swapping tile pieces, guiding the imp to the amulet, repairing the broken mirror, swapping the runes to their correct rings, assembling the mold parts, etc. I found a few of the mini-games really challenging and took me a long time to finally conquer them.
I also enjoyed finding the 42 morphing objects and 45 puzzle pieces. Some of these were challenging to find. If you get them all, then you get the achievements.
All up the game and bonus took me about 8 hours.
Overall, I found the game exciting, interesting and I took great pleasure in killing off the evil Morgana. Definitely recommended. I'm about to start on Part 3 - Hunter and Hunted now. I wonder if I really did kill Morgana? Oh well, I'm about to find out. I love this series.
It was a great surprise when I saw this game because I thought the 1000 doors series had finished. Well, it looks like there are going to be more. The previous 1000 Door games were Family Secrets, Serpent Flame and the Palm of Zoroaster. This time you play Emily who finds out she is a family member of the Lancasters.
The main game is played by Emily to rescue Sammy, the Artist, Gabriel and Kate. The bonus game is played by Kate to find the source of the infection from the meteorite. She has a light gun to help her.
There is:
* Voiceovers; * Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom modes of play; * Interactive map; * 20 Achievements; * Journal; * Arya the Siamese cat to help you get objects out of reach; * Find 48 evil faces.
In the Custom mode you can turn off hints and skips to make it harder. I loved that.
You have the power of light in your hand which will cure infection. You also have two other gadgets to use. These are:
~ A Chronograph which will repair broken objects; and ~ A Telescope which will see hidden objects.
You will use your hand power and the gadgets a lot throughout the game.
The graphics this time are very different from the last three games. They are very colourful and a little cartoony. However, it didn't take me long to get used to them. Everywhere is clear to see and to undertake tasks.
Sound and voiceovers are good. The orchestral music played quietly in the background and I didn't really notice it that much.
The hidden object games were silhouette, fragmented parts and straightforward. However, I noticed there were a lot more interactive straightforward HOS - you know the ones - find one item to use to find another item, etc than the other two.
There were a lot of mini-games to play. Some of these were build four trains, rotate the keys to each keyhole, use the frog to collect all coins, divide the red and green gems into pairs, paint the canvas with one colour, placing dominos where they belong, etc. Some of these were very easy but others took me a long time to do.
Finding all 48 evil faces was hard. These are in the game and bonus. You really have to look carefully to find them. There is one per scene. You will notice at the bottom of the scene that the evil face is dark and will go a pinky colour once found.
It is possible to get most, if not all, of the achievements. Some of these are collecting all the 48 evil faces, doing HOS and mini-games under a minute, watching all the videos, etc.
All up the game and bonus took me about 10 hours. There is so much to do and I really enjoyed playing the game. There are a lot of locations to cover but you tend to stay in the same vicinity until all tasks have been done. I didn't need to use the interactive map at all.
Recently I bought "Witches' Legacy - Ties that Bind" and then realised it was the fourth game in the series. Doh I thought. So I've now bought the earlier three games and have started at the beginning with this one. The other three are:
~ Lair of the Queen Witch; ~ Hunter and Hunted; and ~ Ties that Bind.
I'm going to be busy for a while!
The main game is about rescuing Lynn from Elizabeth the witch and the bonus is about retrieving the amulet to make Lynn better again.
Well, I loved it. It has everything that a fishy could want in a game. There is:
* Live actors (Lynn and Elizabeth); * Regular and Expert modes of play; * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Diary.
Firstly, the graphics are generally okay. They are a bit grainy, but overall the colour is good and its easy to see everything as you move around locations.
Sound is good. The music is mainly organ pipes and orchestral. Its not creepy but its certainly somber and quite haunting. The music does repeat over and over again. I didn't turn it off, but I did turn it down.
The hidden object games were very cluttered and some items were indecipherable to see. I think it was due to the colour rather than the objects themselves because they blended in so well. These were quite a challenge to do and there were a lot of them. Some of them took me a while to get through, but I just nutted them out slowly.
I enjoyed doing the mini-games. Some of these were rotating gems to their proper colour, moving the pins to the left side, playing a melody on the piano, arranging statues, using a pick to hit all the rocks and rotating stones into patterns. None of these were too hard or frustrating to do.
There is a fair bit to do in this game and you are moving around to different locations a lot. Some newer/younger fishies might not like this without an interactive map, but for the old hard core fishies like myself, I remember when interactive maps hadn't been invented and we just had to rely on memory where items and tasks were to do. Just grab a notebook or piece of paper to help.
All up the game and bonus took me about 7 hours, so good value for money.
So definitely recommended. Its a bit old school but you have to start at the beginning to get the whole picture.
I found the graphics to be very good - everywhere is clear to see with good colour.
Sound is good. There wasn't really any music in the game - it was mostly quiet.
The hidden object games were easy. These were mostly straightforward and putting items back in their right place. They didn't take long to do and there were no teeny tiny or indecipherable objects to find. Each one took me about 2 minutes to do. Alternatively you could play Pyramid Solitaire. I did give one a try which seemed relatively straightforward.
There were a huge range of mini-games which I enjoyed. Some of these were untangling vines, rearranging disks back to their proper place, making a recipe for a potion; arranging papers to match the symbol; restoring stained glass shards; find differences on a flag; arranging crystal balls in chronological order; balancing weights; repairing statutes and arranging labels.
Finding the morphing objects was very easy. They morphed quite fast and were easy to spot. I did these as I entered each scene so that I remembered to grab them. You get an achievement if you get them all.
It is possible to get most of the achievements. These had the usual ones of solving HOS and mini-games in under a minute, playing pyramid solitaire, watching all the video scenes, etc.
All up the game and bonus took me about 5 hours.
So overall I enjoyed the game and liked the characters. I did customarise it to make it as hard as I could, but I still found it too easy. The flow of the game was good and I did most tasks as I went along, so there wasn't too much back-tracking. There is plenty to and you won't get bored.
Find the festivalgoer abducted by the gargoyles of Notre Dame and uncover the cathedral’s dark past in this reimagining of the Victor Hugo’s classic tale.
The main game is about rescuing Fleur and the Bonus is about how it all started at the beginning.
Everything about this game was just spot on. There is:
* Casual, Advanced and Hardcore modes; * Voiceovers; * Interactive map; * 32 Achievements; * Use the amulet to find hidden symbols; * Gladriel to help you when objects out of reach.
The graphics are superb. There isn't a huge amount of colour - lots of grays and blacks, but it is very easy to move around and see everything clearly.
Sound is very good. The music is beautiful - orchestral and piano. I loved it.
The hidden object games are straightforward and interactive. These are easy to do and I didn't spend a lot of time on them. There are quite a few of them but they are enjoyable to do.
There were a huge range of mini-games to play. Some of these were move the landmarks to their location, move all the tokens, group tiles together and so much more. You even do some baking and sewing! You collect all the ingredients to make crossants and you collect a needle and golden thread to sew a cloak. I loved them all and didn't skip or hint anything.
You use the red amulet to find hidden symbols - usually six of them. The amulet will glow, so you know when to use it.
You have a gargoyle called Gladriel who will grab objects out of your reach. He can be a bit sarky which made me laugh a couple of times. We only have the company of Gladriel in the main game.
All up the game and bonus took me about 10 hours. Its a good long game and I was disappointed when it ended. I actually enjoyed this game more than 9 The Dark Side.
Definitely recommended. You won't be disappointed with this game. Happy playing fishies.
