This is by far one of the best match 3 game on the market. The gems are so beautiful, in the beginning, I was hardly making matches because I was looking at them. This is a big deal, most games make unremarkable, unappealing pieces which makes for an unremarkable game. I couldn't believe what a difference it makes when you enjoy looking at the gems, it was very pleasing.
Also, the music is so beautiful and relaxing, most games use very fast music but this was so nice, I really appreciated the peace it gave. I don't think anyone would be unhappy with what they have done here.
Unusually, the story is good too. I like the garden growing, water earning, building rebuilding process they have introduced here. It gives a nice added appeal to a great game.
With all this, one might wonder why the 4 stars instead of 5. It is simply for two reasons: 1) the pieces that must be removes sometimes have a gold ring that goes round and round, overe and over on them, which is very distracting and annoying for someone like me (maybe not you) and 2) I cannot stand games that FORCE hints on you. If I am not making a match right this second, it does not mean I cannot find one, or need help of any kind. I am simple setting up my next move and I don't care if it is Puppy Sanctuary, Bejeweled or any other game, it drives me crazy! That is why, but that doesn't make it a bad game and No Way should it deter anyone from getting it.
I recommend this game!

This is one of the best games in a very long time. I was really excited to try it and wasn't disappointed in the least. The story wasn't exactly original, Beauty and the Beast was some what similar but I don't mind using another story if your is really good too. I felt that the balance between the HOS and other tasks was real nice although some of the puzzle answers were almost impossible and I had to use the SG on a few occasions. The rest of the game makes up for it, though and I loved the extra chapter, which felt nice in length and content. The music and graphic were excellent and my senses were not aggravated at all (some games put some annoying sound in the background that forces me to turn of the speakers because it gives me a headache). The characters were well drawn, the voices really well used and everything was tastefully done. I don't think anyone will hate this game and everyone who loves a good adventure/HOS game should try it!
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
The low reviews are dead on! This was shockingly terrible. I cannot believe how terrible this game was, especially with its origins and actress. Stay away and be grateful for 60 min free trial.
The graphics were choppy and hard on the eyes, the tasks were confusing or were pointless. They also required no thought process to them. The HOS puzzles were very annoying as was the sound (which I had to turn off a few times). The acting from everyone was strange and forced, as if they didn't really want to be there. Considering it comes from the same company that released one of the all time best adventure games this is depressing. Give this game a pass!
Rescue a young girl from the Penumbra Motel. Solve puzzles, unravel a long standing mystery of death and disappearances in this heart-pounding adventure game!
Well, I am surprised. This game started out interesting and ended poorly. While it wasn't the best game beginning ever, it was at least 4 stars until about three quarters in when it became very easy and very hard (by which I mean the few puzzles were beyond hard but everything else was very easy). The ending was very anticlimactic and almost pointless with very little explanation either during the game or at the end. I am still not exactly sure what the point was and who did what. I was so board, I didn't bother to do the bonus chapter and probably won't ever. I just don't care.
The music was grinding, never really changing and very annoying. I had to mute my computer many times because it was just too much to handle. The lack of voice overs was shocking and just brought the game down another notch. This game had all the makings of a great, spooky adventure but failed every time.
The graphics are another bone to pick. I almost like them, except for the constant flashing. If they had stopped that (maybe done it once or twice every 2-4 minutes) I don't believe I would have a headache right now.
I am actually very sorry I bought it (a first for me for when I try out a game first and end up hating it). I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the environment was actually kind of creepy and some of the story was actually pretty good. However, it isn't worth even using a free game code on. Don't waste your time on this one, there are so many better ones out there!
I was thrilled to see this out yesterday and I bought it without trial. It wasn't a risk, this game is beyond fabulous! I just love it. The story was creative and fun, the graphics were beyond breathtaking and I just loved the music. The majority of puzzles were solvable (one of the 2 I skipped I did because I do not like that type of puzzle) and I really like the Dark Parable HOS set up which is also really creative. I do feel that they rely on the HOS too much and a few times when I became stuck, the solution was unthinkable (needed help and wouldn't have ever solved it on my own, I feel) but its the good far out weighs those few complaints. I am even planning on replaying it in the near future.
I liked the look of the bonus content too, but it really had too many HOS (the same ones over and over) and I became very sick of them before the end. I also didn't like the end but don't want to spoil it for everyone else so I won't say why!
The bonus content is worth it, too. It isn't just a quick extra HOS heavy chapter and a simple Strategy Guide. The guide is extensive, the music downloading it a total gift and I like the wallpaper and access to the parables and movies (by far a great and rare bonus). However, the bonus puzzles is a waste of time, partly because they only give two of them, one of which I dislike greatly. I don't know why they don't let you try some of the others but again, it isn't the worst thing. The other bonuses by far make up for it. The CE is worth the extra money. This game is one of the best to come out since the last Awakening, Don't miss it for anything.
This series is my second favorite in all the games I have played. That is because of amazing graphics coupled with a gripping story. I would recommend starting with the first game and playing through them all before this one, though, as it doesn't make much sense without all the information the previous games give (although it gives enough if you don't care too much about story). Sophia is one of the few characters I have ever connected with from an Adventure/HOS game and the games are actually good enough to compete with the Drawn series (the best games ever). This game doesn't disappoint and now is a great time to get all 4 and play though! No waiting anymore! I highly recommend this game!!!
Enter the world of Drawn. Explore the Painted Tower and unravel its mysteries on your quest to save the hope of the kingdom. Can you reach the top of the tower?
Drawn was around the first Adventure game I bought on the ipad. When I tried it out, I was floored. Everything was stunning, the graphics, the music and the game play. The puzzles were inventive and fun, the game play was seamless without too much traveling (there is traveling but for the most part it is not excessive). I have now played thought it 4 times (once with my 6 year old and 4 year old daughters) and own it on both my computer and my ipad. I just do not think anyone can play this game (or series for that matter) and not just love it. Give it a chance, you will not be disappointed. It is probably my all time favorite game!
This is a great game. I love the story, it was twisty and creative. The graphics and movies were amazing and I loved the various puzzles. There were not too many HOS (some games just do one after the other) and they didn't repeat the ones done. My complaints, though, demand a star.
First, the bonus chapter was WAY too short to be worth the $. It wasn't bad, though not what I would have preferred (can't explain or it would be a spoiler). Second, I wish the end had been clearer (also a spoiler risk). Third, for those of us who have sensory issues, those chimes in the background going every minute or so were horrible (the reason behind the lower score for sound quality). I know that most people won't know what I am talking about but for some, the constant annoying chime can ruin a game! (It should be noted that if you turn off environment sound it turns this off too).
I did really like this game, and I recommend it to anyone who wants a good adventure with a good balance of challenging puzzles and fun HOS.
I really enjoyed the take on Robin Hood. Anytime someone tries to adapt a overdone story, its a risk. However, this game gives fresh and fun approach that didn't disappoint. Its very light hearted (One of the few games I feel comfortable in sharing with my young daughters). The HOS is nicely balanced (a rarity). I think just about everyone could enjoy a game like this one!
I actually got this on the ipad, after testing it out. I was so surprised because I was sure it would be sub-par at best. I was wrong! This game is amazing. I loved the story (although it was very predictable) and I loved the music and graphics. It was pretty creepy too! This game is a hidden gem that must not be overlooked! If you like creepy and amazing HOS/Puzzle games, don't miss this one! Its one of the best!
