This one really drove me crazy. Many of the controls were sluggish or unresponsive on the first try, the sounds became so bothersome that I had to turn them off and the story was dry and predictable. The Bonus Chapter was really a let down, even if I can't tell you why do to spoilers. Some of the puzzles were really annoying too, including one that I finally gave up on, tried to skip only to have it glitch until I finally looked up the solution and solved it. I have enjoyed the other games in this series, but this one looks rushed and lacks the imagination that exists in those. This one isn't worth the time, for the CE or the SE.
This game will pull you in, you won't be able to put it down, including the bonus game, which was one of the better ones. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the door puzzles become tedious after a while, especially if there is one kind you don't like (each type gets at least 3 times). Still, absolutely loved this game!
I wanted to like this game, it is so much like a different favorite of mine but it just isn't working for me. What I did like was the swtiching between characters and even the story as well as the match 3 option for the HOS which is always appreciated for those of us who tire of them but the sounds and awkwardness of the controls really threw me off. It moves slow, the visuals felt off and after 40 minutes I really couldn't stand playing anymore. Its not a bad game at all, but its not really great either. I think it would work for one who is looking for something to do as long as they are not picky and are very patient.
I am not sure what it is about Dark Parables, but I have been hooked since I first tried The Exiled Prince. As always, the scenes are incredible, the story unique and creative and the music pleasant without distracting you from what your doing. Usually, the background sounds are not horrid like all too many games (probably more of a problem for me than most people, but still). I am so glad they kept up with the tradition with this one and there is no way anyone could really be disappointed with it. Totally worth the time and money!
As mentioned in a previous review, this game is "nothing special or different". As a big fan of Zombies (have been for over 15 years) I was willing to give this game a chance even though I was pretty sure of what I would find. I wasn't surprised at all, this game is a cookie cutter repeat of another well known BF game. The only real difference is a lack of an undo option. The cards are very hard to read and I made a few mistakes because I misread them. This game really just lacks anything special and mostly is just cashing in on the zombie fad with an quick to market zombie game. There are so many better versions of this game already for sale at BF, this one just isn't worth it.
Well, I wouldn't totally write off this game, it does have it good points. For the most part, the graphics were good and the music didn't grind on my nerves like some Match 3 games. The "gems" used for the match 3 game itself was alright, although I personally prefer gemstones like Jewel Match 3 and the toadstools were a bit too busy fro my taste, but that is a preference problem, not necessarily something you might have a problem with. So why did this game only get 2 stars from me?
Simply, I will not play a game that plays itself. All u do is click on the "gem" u want to move and it moves for you. I hate that. It takes the challenge and fun right out of the game and it got on my nerves right away. I don't like losing that control, especially when I do not all the time mean to press that "gem" and in other games, I will just un-press. It took the challenge and fun right out and I won't be buying this game. Its just too simple, my kids would be board with it.
I actually was going to give this game 3-4 stars originally and it wasn't until the last 2 levels that I decided I would have to drop them. This game is okay. Of course, it is nothing compared to the second one, which was outstanding, but it wasn't bad either. The music didn't take long to get on my nerves are there really isn't more than the same song slightly different for each of the 4 books. Also, the game controls don't respond well, which makes the fast click and pull motion very difficult at times, especially if your in a hurry. The graphic are not really that great but again, were not that bad either. Some of the levels were extremely annoying and that arrow won't let me go where I need to, making me restart a few levels due to a change in direction choice.
It is these next two things I mention that really makes this a bad game. The first is the annoying fairy. As weird as it sounds, by the end of the game, I couldn't stand her. You would just start pushing the pieces on the board and she would pop up with info you already knew and would lose the move or mess it up. And it happened every time, even if you had just restarted the level and had already seen the info. The second, probably a more serious issue, is the very last 2 levels of the game. If you have any kind of stress issues, arthritis (no matter how mild) or dizziness issues, this level could make you very sick. It is a near impossible, click as fast as u can making coherent moves without time to look insanity. As a person with the dizziness issue, I actually did get very sick trying to pull these off and while I did succeed after numerous tries (because I cant stand to leave a game unfinished) I feel this is a major flaw in what could have been a so so game. Maybe, if your 100% healthy, go for it. It is a okay game to take some down time with, until the end, but otherwise, steer clear. This game can do some real damage.
I really did enjoy this one. It was a pleasant mix of HOS and Puzzles and collecting and making the scents provided a nice variety to the usual HOS game make up. I also enjoyed the story, it can be so difficult to get a good story in a game, and I was not too hard pressed to suspend my disbelief so much. The best advantage to this game, however, was the map. I am always grateful for an interactive map in a game and this one was very helpful. The game was customizable and pleasant and I would recommend that anyone who isn't a child (dealing with death) should check this one out!

I really enjoyed this game. It has stunning graphics, beautiful music and a great story. I loved the concept of traveling from different lands with the compass and the voice overs were really spectacular. I even enjoyed the usual Blue Tea HOS which is always very refreshing and unique. The reason I gave this game 4 stars, however, is the excessive use of the HOS, to the point of frustration in fact. It seemed that every few moves, there was another one, or a third repeat of one already done. I got really tired of them, especially in the bonus chapter. Also, on the subject of the bonus chapter, the flow that existed in the regular game disappeared. You almost need to play it to understand what I am talking about but you are thrown into this chapter without any background info, it is very difficult to accomplish things without help and like I said before, it just doesn't flow. But I still really loved this game and I am glad I bought it and highly recommend it.
Spoiler possibility: Really didn't like the choice in the end of the game either, that is totally against my personality. Won't explain here, but didn't like it!

I almost couldn't believe it when I saw this game released. I loved the first one and I was very sure the sequel would be at least good as well. Its not bad, The graphics is really nice and the story is interesting, if not predictable. However, the constant noise in the background is like nails on a chalkboard. I finally had to quit (about 20 mins into the trial) because it was driving me up a wall. Plus, the non stop HOS was becoming tiresome, especially since most of the items blended in so well, they took a great deal of effort (and sometimes hints) to find. All in all, I am walking away from this game with a massive headache. Perhaps someone really into challenges might enjoy this game, but most will find it annoying.
