Green City 2 is very much like its predecessor and is as much fun. Like the original, the game is all fantasy and not instructional because nothing in the energy management or ecology is actually reality based, but within those imaginary rules it can work. I played it in untimed mode and found that much of the time I was tearing down buildings once or twice to fit the puzzle pieces and achieve the desired results. It was a challenge but a fun one. I felt good to “win” by finishing a level. This is a building game with several different categories of accomplishments which have to be met to win. Each level is different and has different goals and requires different strategy.

If you haven’t tried Green City, I think you should. I played in untimed mode and found it enjoyable. Yes, the ecology is impossible and actually funny in its inaccuracy, but it is only a game and therefore doesn’t really have to reflect reality. This is a building game with made up elements of energy use and ecology. The result may not be reality, but within the game rules it can be fun. Eventually the buildings you build and the neighborhood eyesores you eliminate will produce energy from thin air (or buy it from neighboring cities). In untimed mode, if you go down the wrong path, you can still recover by demolishing buildings and trying a different strategy. For me, it was a nice escape which I was sorry to see end.

This is a game which seeks to achieve mediocrity and fails even at that. There is no untimed mode, which is a failure. There are certain levels which cannot be finished at all, another failure. As a copycat game, this embodies the principles and failures of its predecessors and expands on the failures. Even the game controls fail to be clear about anything. To exit the game, the easiest way is to kill the program from task manager. I was able to finish the first level before I hit an impossible level and quit trying. It was just boring. I cannot recommend that anyone else waste money on this game. There are far better alternatives out there.

The graphics and game play are relatively standard with a time objective that was never, ever possible to reach. I didn’t even try to finish in award time after about level 4 because the times were impossible. The play is somewhat fun, if rushed, and objectives change from scene to scene. However, the cavemen speak in loud gibberish that got on my nerves. Frequently. I found that after a few scenes I was done for the day and would revisit the next day. The story line was supposed to be tongue in cheek, but was simply silly enough to just be ignored. So I did not dislike the game and I did not find that it held my attention for very long. Just a middling game, but worth buying.

I gave the free trial a whirl and did not like any of what I encountered. The English is poor enough to be repellent; to give two examples 1) separate is consistently misspelled with three e and one a, and 2) at one point my building “catched” fire. That, alone, tanked it. Add to that the lack of clear objectives and sparse to no instructions and you have a failure. I was stuck almost from the beginning. A clear “no buy”.

I lasted through 6 boring minutes of this game before it went outta here; I deleted it. This is a time management game to share with the 5 year old for family fun. There is no adult use for it; no adult level challenge. I recommend that it only be considered as a ‘family’ activity game for very young children. Otherwise, the game isn’t interesting or relaxing, just cloying and perhaps annoying.

If you are really desperate for a time management game and quality is no problem, this is the one for you. It is the bottom of the barrel for quality and fun. I played it half way through, until I realized that the first time through a level you will never get it right, maybe the third or fifth time, and then you will need about 5 minutes longer than the “daylight” time. This game was designed to be frustrating and not to be enjoyable. It succeeds in not being enjoyable. I erased it at the halfway point. Were I retired with no life, I might enjoy this, but between jobs I look for fun; there is no fun here.

If you want an impossible challenge, one that ceases to be fun after level 10 and simply becomes a Royal Pain, pick this one. It is impossible, even on easy, to get past level 12 and the fun factor hits zero. I like to use games to relax, but this one doesn’t know what relax means. This game is simply a mess. I wasted my money on this poorly designed excuse for a game. Save yours.
I don't recommend this game.

It took me 90 minutes to play through the battle that they called a tutorial. Unfortunately that's all there is. If you Continue, you relive your final kill and New Game restarts the tutorial. There is a Load button, but it does nothing. This game is WAY too short to recommend to others.

I began this game as a TM game and was initially unimpressed with the forced introduction. You must do what is suggested through the initial couple of minutes. Once that introduction is over, you are free to move about as you wish. I persisted through the introduction and was rewarded with a game that I have replayed twice more. It is not a TM game, or a hidden object game. I can’t really say what it is, but I liked it. The music is repetitive and the art work is somewhat clever if a bit plain, however the game play makes up for everything else. This is a thinking game, with hidden objects like eggs or mushrooms hidden just about anywhere which can be collected and sold in order to buy other things needed in the main quest or side quests. The game is somewhat linear but the side quests can be taken or ignored as you see fit. Usually a side quest allows you to collect things you will later need. My first time through, I forgot to go back and learn to hunt, so I finished the game only by selling everything I had found and became a hero with essentially no coin. The second time through I hunted and finished the game with plenty of coin. The third time through I figured out where to find all 5 golden eggs (yes, I used the forum help) and expanded my hunting quarry and caught and sold a type of fish. I concluded that time with 37 of 38 achievements and a huge pot of coin. Each time through, I saw a different game based on my previous experience. I’m done now, but this game was worth playing and worth every penny paid. However, I still can’t figure out how to categorize it. It isn’t TM, it isn’t HOG, but it seems to be unique. One warning, my 11 inch screen was inadequate. When I switched to a 19” monitor, the game was better.
