Contrary to most reviewers, I liked this game overall. Can't say I loved it, but I did find it a fun game to play. The voice acting may not be top notch but the graphics are great. My complaint about the game is that each time an object is picked up there is a little burst of ghostly light which causes a delay. After awhile this became annoying.
There were a lot of puzzles but you have a choice to play them on easy or hard. Even on hard, I did not find any of them to be brain drainers. The HOs are interactive lists and I thought there were more of them in the bonus game than in the main story.
The story of the bonus game was different from the main game and was fun to play, but it defies logic how a museum curator could be so stupid a second time. Perhaps she didn't see the movie The Mummy.
The collectibles and morphing objects were not always easy to find. You have an option at the end of the game to replay the mini games and HOs. You can also buy cursed items with the gold you have collected. This may be kind of silly but it was fun to see what could be bought.
The game is not perfect, but how many of them are? I enjoyed playing it in spite of a few short comings. Down load the demo and try it for yourself because that is the only way you will really find out if you want to purchase it or not.
I have all the Lost Lands games and they are all excellent games. Cudos to the developer for continuing the excellence in this game. It is a long game and one can get bogged down in the back and forth which is why I love the maps. With them you can see which locations are active and seamlessly move from place to place in an instant.
The graphics are good, not great perhaps but good. HOs are the silhouette style and interactive. You must find one thing and use it to progress to the next thing. Sometimes these were not all that easy. The minigames were varied. Not always easy. This is where my one complaint about this game comes in. For some reason, the clues found for certain minigames did not appear which left me to figure it out. Something which was impossible on a couple of them. I found this especially frustrating in the minigrame opening the crypt. Perhaps this was a glitch in my game but it happened more than once. I do not like to use hints or skips. Nevertheless, its still a five star game IMHO.
As always, download the demo to see if its your cup of tea. I really liked it
This is not a great game but overall, I liked it except I found it pretty elementary. Most of the time, If you find an object you use it quickly or know exactly where to use it. The tasks were usually completed within the scene where you are working and there isn't any trotting back and forth between levels on the map.
I thought the story was different and it is the only reason I gave the game 3 stars. I've not encountered a lady with a chimera curse before who cannot help the fact that looking on her face causes blindness in the besotted men who chance to see it. Much to her dismay, she cannot control the curse. Of course, at the end all is well and the detective reverses the curse on her and her hunchback friend as well as the poor men who fell under her curse.
Some of the mini games were different from any I've encountered and were challenging. There are not a lot of hidden object scenes which are mostly list type and the objects are easy to find. Click on pretty much anything that stands out a bit and you will find something.
If you are looking for logic and challenge, try something else. If you are looking to waste a few hours, download the demo and see what you think.
Right at the beginning is a mini game which I hated because I could not get the cursor to line up the parts, they just simply would not move! You may have better luck with this than I did but eventually I had to skip it. Not a good way to begin. I started to throw in the towel right then but I decided to play out the demo to see where the game would take me. When the demo finished, I was intrigued enough to buy the game since it was on sale even though I wasn't really all that enthused. I'm not disappointed that I bought it but it really isn't a great game. It is a story of jumping from location to location to find supposedly extinct ingredients for a poison antidote. These ingredients include a the last of a type of leopard secretly kept for centuries in India. Once the antidote was prepared, I thought they were supposed to add it the water supply but all of the antidote was used on the fallen agents.
I loved it because there were mini games which I have not encountered before. However, the instructions on some of the mini games should have been more explicit. I hate to skip puzzles but I did once or twice simply because I could not figure out how I was supposed to play it.
As usual this dev does not scrimp on the art and VOs. Those were very well done. The plot was different enough to be interesting but still the superhero H.E.L.P agent must save the world.
I think the dev should put this series to rest. The value and fun of these games has just about been exhausted. As I said, at times I hated this game, at others I loved it. Try the demo and see if you are intrigued enough to want to purchase it
Here we have the story of the evil twin sister who is sent to an asylum then eventually manages to kill her nurse and steal her identity. She is truly a psychopath and kills her entire family. We spend the game in another haunted house filled with ghosts. Not only do we have the ghosts of those who were murdered in the house but we have the ghost of the evil twin who murdered them as well! Even tho she is dead she is still trying to kill her good twin. Confusing as to how that came about but nevertheless the good twin is hospitalized and near death with some unknown illness.
This nest of ghostly victims and the perpetrator make for a fun, kinda creepy romp through a nice long game filled with puzzles and hidden object scenes. I was happy that there were not dozens of amulets to find.
I disliked the rehash of mini games we have seen over and over. Personally, I'm tired of spinning marbles in a circle to line them up by color. I'm also tired of the repetition of things like finding a fishing rod then having to find the line, the reel and the hook. Can't we ever find a complete fishing rod? Furthermore, can't we ever find a key in a lock that doesn't break apart when we touch it?
I liked this game but not it is not a great game. It is satisfying in length and has just enough of a creep factor to keep you interested.
Once again, try the demo before you buy. I have discovered that sometimes games that get rave reviews may not be to my liking while games with low reviews may be just my cup of tea.
As you go through the game playing in the role of four different characters, you encounter various tasks for each of the characters according to their talent. The huntress must be stealthy enough to deal with the elven army, the seer interprets runes and other things, the shieldmaiden battles the giant, etc. There are no missing zipper pulls and no haunted houses. A child hasn't been kidnapped by an evil entity. There is only Odin needing someone to help him recover the stags who groom the tree of life. Ok, so that sounds a bit ridiculous but it doesn't detract from the game. The tasks each person must fulfill do not seem like filler as in other games but actually do advance the story toward recovering the stags.
There are some great multi-level HOs with interaction and even a puzzle or two thrown in. Good puzzles to give a bit of a challenge. Wonderful graphics and voice acting. I liked the idea that the collectibles were not the same throughout the game but changed with each realm. Some morphing objects were not all that easy to spot in the HOs especially those which were multi-level. All the HOs and mini games were replayable. There is a souvenir room which can extend game play if you are inclined to look for them. I did find the bonus game a bit short.
I liked this game very much but I'm not convinced it is a five star game based on the fact that sometimes it was not at all clear what should be done next. I suppose I shouldn't hold that against it because that is the nature of gaming. But, I did have to use the hint button a couple of times because I got a little confused on the next action to take.
Take it for a spin, you may decide you need it for your collection.

There are several three part puzzles in this game which have very poor instructions for playing them. Even after referring to the strategy guide, I was unable to figure parts of them out. This seems to happen a lot with all games of this type. Poor instructions cause the game to be much more tedious and less fun than it should be. Is it too much to ask that the instructions be clearly stated? The only other complaint I have is the length as it is shorter than most other CE games. The bonus game is very short. You can finish that in about 30 minutes.
Others have commented on story, graphics, voice overs and hidden object scenes so I will not do that. IMHO this is a good game but not a 5 star game. Perhaps if the puzzles had better instructions, I would have given it 5 stars.
I do suggest you get the demo because I believe that after playing demo, you will want to add the game to your collection whether it is the CE or SE.

Initially, I liked this game so I bought it on sale. Glad I could get it on sale because before completing the main story, I became bored by the mini games and the lackluster story. I was so completely bored and the game became so tedious that I could not bring myself to try the bonus game. This is a game that I will never play again.
What's so bad? 1. Every interaction with a character has a dialogue box where you must choose responses. 2, Collect 90 gems which gets you nothing more than an additional Match 3 game. 3. Mini games were simple for the most part but there are one or two favorites of developers which they use over and over which I hate. 4. Short game for a CE. 5. Boring story that has been served up to us in many different ways but is always the same at its core. 5. Morphing objects which appear slowly then disappear quickly. 6. Regis sounded bored out of his mind because of the monotones in which he spoke.
The good things were the excellent graphics and the hidden object scenes presented in somewhat different ways which lessened the boredom factor a bit.
If you try the demo and like it, perhaps you might consider waiting for the SE because there isn't much in the CE to recommend it.

At first sight, I thought the Cemetery Keeper was going to be an evil dude with a booming bass voice. Turns out he is a sweetheart, if skeleton's had hearts. You have to rescue his raven without which the he cannot see and through whom he channels advice and comments. So you have a raven helper and the Cemetery Keeper and neither one are really much help since you have to do all the leg work throughout the game. I am on the fence about the how the game proceeds as to whether I really liked it or not. Having to stop and choose a response is a bit intrusive into the flow of the game, but I kinda found it interesting to see if my responses created chaos or not. I didn't create very much chaos. Once I didn't let the rat out of the cage and that created chaos. It was a rat! You don't go around letting rats out of cages! You do not get do overs on your decisions. Once a course of action is taken, you are committed. Poor rat turned into a skeleton.
The story is basically the same as many others that require travel to different places to save the girl, world, whatever. Since we can't seem to get away from this type of story, I try to find any unique element which the devs may have tried to make it different in any way. Don't remember anything much different. In this story, we have the evil Comet Spirits who need human souls and in the bonus game want to inhabit human bodies. Perhaps they could not make up their minds as to whether they needed soul power or body power or both!
I thought the graphics were good. The voices are ok. The Cemetery Keeper could hypnotize you to sleep with his calm voice. I can't comment on music since I don't listen to it. I don't think it adds anything to the game.
I thought the game was better than most we have been offered lately but I don't think it rated 5 stars. I'm not even sure it rates the 4 stars which I am giving it. I just liked the Cemetery Keeper. Something about a skeleton on a horse I guess.
Try the demo, you might hate it or you might like it.

I've never really been sold on the Myths of the World series but I decided to buy this game because I enjoyed the demo. When the demo was over however, the enjoyment was over. I have never been so totally angry with myself for buying a game. I've been disappointed before but never this mad. I have never been angry over spending money on a game I may not have liked because I've always had the attitude that it was my choice to buy it. In this case, the demo seemed like a bait and switch scam. It sucks you in then afterward, the game deteriorates into a jumble of mind numbing mini games and ridiculous tasks that do not seem to have logic for completing them.
No amount of colorful graphics and CE bling can make up for the frustration you encounter playing this game. If you want to play a game in which you must press the hint button repeatedly, this one will delight you. I stayed confused on where to go and what to do most of the time. This is unusual for me. I have not finished the game and do not plan to finish it. I gave up after encountering the idea of herding birds together in the third realm.
This game is a total waste. I don't think those 5 star reviewers played the same game I did. I have played hundreds of these games over six years and have never encountered a game which I totally dislike until now.
