I was so disappointed in this game. I just wanted to play a game, not try out for MENSA! I will say the graphics were nice, and the hidden object scenes were very good, but that's as far as I will go. The game was neither fun nor entertaining; not challenging but rather just plain frustrating. It felt more like work, than work, itself. Too many complicated maneuvers for idiotic rewards, too much having to use the hint button or refer to the walk-through. And the reading one has to do! Every other move you have 3 or 4 more pages to read. I think I ended up reading a whole book just to play a game. The Ravenhearst series is over for me, whether this is the finale, or not. I will say that it started out not too bad, but then it turned into a discombobulated junk pile. In my opinion, the creators just went too overboard here, and took a simple mystery game and turned it into what felt like an endless ride... to a bad job... in rush hour traffic... on a Monday morning.
I don't recommend this game.

I enjoyed this game. The story line was good and held my interest. The HOS were also enjoyable. Not that many mini games, but they were entertaining. I skipped one, which was a 'slider' puzzle, simply because I dislike slider puzzles... but the rest I did. The graphics were wonderful, too. All in all, to me it didn't have that 'wow' factor, but it was relaxing and kept me interested from start to finish.
In this ghostly continuation of the Fear for Sale series, you've discovered a luxury ocean liner bears an eerie resemblance to a ship that vanished years ago.
I can't place my finger on it, but this game just made me feel irritated. From the lack of ambiance to the endless jazz on the 'cruise ship', this was simply a nails-on-the-chalkboard' game to me. I had to finish it, because -- well, I paid for it LOL, but I found it to be a chore and not enjoyable at all. The only saving grace was that I didn't get the CE version. The mini games were just 'OK', but few, the HOS screens were completely unenjoyable and all too blended in color and lack of distinction; I opted for the 'switch to puzzle' option in many cases. The storyline was pointless as you had almost no contact with any of the characters -- other than a brief second or so --, so your involvement in the storyline was not that 'invested' to grab you and draw you in. As this game received so many good reviews I guess it just shows you 'different strokes for different folks'. Be smart and try it before you buy it. I wish I had!
This game is fabulous! So much fun, without the ridiculous fairy tale fantasy that consumes every other game lately. The hidden object scenes were wonderful, too...and I usually just 'click on everything' to get them 'over with' fast. But not here. Thoroughly enjoyed them. The mini games, too, were refreshing and challenging, yet still easily doable. I especially loved the ambient sounds of the environment -- very relaxing to listen to the rain and the crackling of a warm fire. I can't comment on the music as I opted to play without the music (and glad I did). Very rarely do I feel a game was worth the money, but I am very happy with this purchase. It's right up there with 'City of Fools' as one of my favorites! Try it, you won't be sorry.

I just don't understand how this game got so many good reviews. I found it bordering on the likes of that last minute grueling work that has to be done before you can leave the job and go home -- not fun at all -- and I played it to the end simply to 'get my money's worth' (it's called sunk cost fallacy), if you know what I mean. It was so dark, I could hardly see anything and strained my eyes in every scene -- especially the hidden object scenes. Many of the mini games were 'mathematical' -- where when you touch one piece all the other pieces move -- which I do not like at all. They were not fun to me. Not challenging. Just 'dumb'...or so I heard myself muttering out loud a few times during the mini games, "this is dumb". The story was so boring I just could not find myself getting wrapped up in it at all, and the fact that there was no map made for endless running around like a fool. It was too dark to tell if the graphics were good or not.

Excellent game, kept me happy and interested from start to finish. As usual with this series, the music was superb, and the graphics were amazing. The mini games were fun and I played them all, and the hidden object scenes were varied with each one being perfectly orchestrated. The storyline was great, too -- and it even had a little plot 'twist'! I didn't notice the 'endless rain' as another reviewer had mentioned. In fact, I don't remember any rain at all. Oh well, maybe we played a different game LOL! All said and done, an excellent game that was well planned and well put together.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. The artwork was just beautiful, and the pieces were so original, with subtle highlights and shadows. A great array of textures, from silks and fabrics to stained and frosted glass, woods to marble textures. At first I was upset that you had to try and solve the puzzle without having a picture to look at for reference, but even that part turned out to be fun as you slowly watched the picture take shape and reveal itself to you as you worked the puzzle. One huge, huge complaint, though... I worked this game on my computer and my complaint was in the inability to pick up a puzzle piece with one click to move it over to the puzzle board for placement. You had to pick it up and then hold the mouse button down the entire time you were trying to find it's place in the puzzle. If you let go of the mouse button the piece 'fell' and it counted as a 'mistake'. After just a few games I found my hand, fingers and wrists were cramping and painful from having to continuously hold the mouse button down to place a piece. Due to that, I give this game less than five stars.

I really enjoyed this game! It was so much FUN, plus had great mini games and pretty good hidden object scenes...but what made the HOS so great was the music. It was a haunting, yet beautiful, melody. Just wonderful! I found myself taking my time in finding the hidden objects, just so I could listen to the melody longer. Thank you to the makers and to Big Fish Games for this delight. Well worth the purchase.

I don't understand how this game had such good reviews. It's simple to sum up this 'game' ... find the token that will open the next item, then open that item to find the token that will open the next item, then open that item to find another token that will open another item...with, yes, you're right -- more tokens to open other items with tokens in them, too! I'm still confused... was this the game? Graphics were pretty, but I'd rather have a fun game with bad graphics then a visually pleasing one that is no fun at all.
