I cannot understand why this is not a CE. It is 7 hrs long and has a seperate SG by the devs. Why not combined and make the last chapter the BC and make twice as much profit. That's what they did with Broken Tunes.
Anyway, this is a super bumper full to bursting game with all your childhood Fairy Tale charcters come to life. The evil clown and his henchman are back, just as ugly and repulsive as before. The game is just as weird and bizarre as the first one, but wonderfully so.
There are a lot of iHOS, it's true, but hey, that's the genre. The puzzles fall into all 3 categories for difficulty levels. The graphics are brilliant. The game is full of surprises and inventiveness and gripped me right off. But if I thought I was gripped at first, that was nothing compared to later, because it just kept getting better and better.
The hint button is perfectly sufficient for help and advice and recharges fast. The story is well done, if a little creepy. But then, we like creepy, right? Right! Very well done.
The navigation is absolutely instantaneous and some devs should take a leaf out of these ones book and see that they can programme their games to this degree. Excellent.
There is no map, but the game is in sections to which you do not have to return after completion, until the end. Great end it is too. Leaves plenty of leeway for yet another one.
I just hope it does not take as long for the next one. I will be first in line.
Thanks devs, you rock. And thanks BF, you picked a good one.
I recommend this game!

Hmm, another Invisible Object Game. Much too dark. Only about 75% of the items are visible. Could have been a really great game, but frustration level too high. Needed to use too many hints - not fun.
Puzzles were good though, as was the music and the story, although a tad too much dialogue to plough through, but then that's how you keep track of the story, so, ok.
Please devs, none of us have x-ray vision. Even when the hint pointed at the items, they were not to be seen and I have good vision. Pulling my screen more upright did not help. Lighten up a bit man.
Otherwise, same format as the other too, just a little too drab and too much hard work.
I recommend this game!

I liked this game. It's light and easy with good graphics and doable puzzles. The story is full of werewolves, vampires and demons. The music is good. The HOS are uncluttered, sharp and clear, so while there are a lot of them, I rather enjoyed them The hint button recharges really fast.
There is a transporter-type addition onscreen, so no foot slogging and no having to refer to a map. There are no voice overs and no wide screen, but it's a SE, so I do not see how people are complaining about that. I found the cut scenes very simplistic but acceptable.
If you are looking for something exceptional and challenging, you will not like it. But for those who enjoy a nice easy, relaxed stroll through an interesting game and story, it's a rewarding one.
They are saying it looks old, but it makes no difference to me. I rate games on how much fun I had and I had lots of fun with this.
It will never win a prize, but at 4 hrs long, and with a pcc, it was a steal.
Thanks, devs. TIP: Next time, be more careful with the names of the items in the HOS. You slipped up a few times and had me looking for the wrong things. But, no biggie.
I recommend this game!

I am not a big fan of ERS. Their games are always pretty average and not of CE quality. But I liked the 1st one, liked the story of this one and loved the setting, so I bought it. It did not start out in any particularly gripping way, but it did get better soon after the demo and it turned out to be not bad at all.
Let's face it, Ol' Bunny Ears is terminally happy with their format, so we are never going to get wide screen, collectibles, maps, journals or achievements, or anything even resembling bells and whistles, so we may as well stop lamenting the lack thereof and just resign ourselves to paying CE prices for SE games with these guys, or wait for the SE.
The BC was 75 mins long and I could have done without it. It did not seem to end any differently from the main game and I was left wondering what the point was.
Graphics were well done, but words like gorgeous, excellent and terrific did not spring to mind.
The iHOS were were not overdone and the puzzles were easy.
Some good music and some shock sound effects. A good SG and helpful hints outside iHOS. There is a Match 3 alternative for those who wish it, rather than playing the iHOS.
Sometimes I am on board with ERS if the game play is especially enjoyable, sometimes I disembark and other times I cannot even lower the gangplank. They will not step it up, will not compete and sometimes they cut so many corners it's a wonder their games do not show up round on our monitors.
I should have waited for the SE.
I don't recommend this game.

As a CE addict who has bought every CE BF has put out there, I am for the first time ever, not buying this. It is the 2nd one from these devs in as many weeks and is not nearly as good as the previous one, which left a lot to be desired anyway.
There is no wide screen, no achievements, no collectibles and no map at all. The clues in the journal are fuzzy. It is packed to overflowing with HOS which are not interactive. The graphics are poor - very, very dark and uninteresting. The music is lamentable. The story is very disturbing, involving cruelty to children and the puzzles are poor.
I would be in 2 minds about buying it if it were a SE, but very well might. But to pay double the price for one extra hours play for a game of such poor quality is not going to happen.
Devs, you need to buck your ideas up. This is atrocious.
I don't recommend this game.

Nobody does it better than Elephant. Another wonderful game with gorgeous graphics on wide screen, a terrific story and thoroughly uplifting music.
The iHOS are great - clear, sharp, uncluttered and not too many items to find. Nor are there too many of them. Loads of locations to visit, all perfectly done.
I love that Elephant do not concern themselves too much with puzzles/mini games that are so complicated and convoluted they fry the brain, but rather concentrate on making them fun, colourful and solveable.
There is a jump map - my personal favourite, which highlights which areas to visit. The hint/skip are very fast and the hint points out direction, if you prefer that to using the map.
There are collectibles and achievements, and the collectibles are easy to see. Navigation is as good as it is possible to get. The SG is well laid out and there is a special section for finding the collectibles, if you miss any. There is no diary, but I only had to make a note of a code once.
There are 7 rotund, fluffy, adorable little creatures to find, each with a special ability to help you perform tasks, but not all 7 are to be found in the main game. It ends well, but in my opinion you would be missing out by just getting the SE. I loved talking with them. They were funny and so endearing.
The main game took me 4 hrs and the BC 90 mins, although the game is so absorbing and entertaining, it did not feel that long. I could have played twice as long and not ever been bored.
Fantastic job by these guys, as always. Thanks Ellie and thanks BF. This game totally makes up for the recent disappointing CEs.

Oh, BFG, I am so sorry! I really wanted to like this game. I looked and looked and waited and waited to find the good points and appreciate it's merits. But, it pains me to say, I just could not.
It is pig-ugly to look at. The graphics are awful. The story is uninspiring. The game play is slow and stilted and frustrating. The acting is abysmal - hugely overdone, from everyone.
Those liittle bits of paper drove me to distraction and I wanted to get my hands on that little gold timer and snap it in two.
I never thought I would say this, but I really wish I could have found 3 different ladders dotted around, because I kept leaving the thing behind and having to go all the way back for it.
I never found a BC and not a single morphing object was anywhere to be found either.
You should have had it beta tested so we could set you straight and have you fix it first.
It was dull, boring, annoying and just horrid. But I still love you guys. I know you are better than this because I have your other MCFs. I will look for your next one. Just for goodness sake, dump this format and never use it again.
I know you wanted to make it dark and eerie and adult-themed, hence the graphics etc, but you missed the mark. It is simply grim.
I don't recommend this game.

There is quite a large amount of historical data included in this game, on Alexander, and you get to read it in-flight, which is how you travel to the different countries. But, if you are not interested in that, it can be instantly switched off.
The graphics are not the greatest, but they are not terrible either. The main character is a really sweet and very young sounding guy, very enthusiastic, a little naive and rather too trusting, but his unabashed delight and pleasure at all the things he discovers is very endearing and I really became very fond of him.
There are a huge amount of HOS and this is my main peeve with this game - they are dark, junkpiles and extremely blurry, so finding the items is a real headache. Fortunately, the hint button is super quick, or I would not have enjoyed the game half as much. Probably would not have bought it.
There is a map, but I found it irrelevant, as there are only a handful of areas in each location. I always knew which one to go to when I found something and actually forgot about the map altogether.
You get to travel back in time and see how everything looked then and I really enjoyed that.
The music was not irritating and the conversations with the guy who employs you are short and clickable.
There are no glitches and navigation not too bad, but could have been faster.
It took me 6 hrs and was interesting and informative and I think they did a pretty fair job of it.
There will be a sequel and I would just like to say to them, please, for the next one, lighten up the HOS, do not make the items so impossible to see and make the navigation faster. These 2 factors will get you much more favourable reviews and more sales.
I recommend this game!

After the sheer ugliness of Shadow Lake, this is pure light relief. Even though it is set at night and the sky is dark, the colours are bright and good to look at. Graphics are fine by me. The story, while not original, is well told and unfolds logically enough, for Werewolves. The music is good. There are no HOS per se, but there are scenes where you have to compile an item to use there and then, and I liked that. The puzzles are fairly simple, but I will never complain about that as I am not puzzle-orientated.
There is a map, but it is not a jump map, so a lot of backwards and forwards. The hint button is fast and also tells you where to go, so you need to familiarize yourself with the names of the many and varied locations. There is no wide screen, no achievements or collectables. The SG is well set out, with only a few instructions on each page so it is easier to follow than when pages are chock full of instructions.
The main game took me 3hrs 45 mins and the BC 1hr 30 mins. The main game ends well and will not leave SE players hanging.
I do not really think it is CE quality because it lacks the above mentioned, but it is an interesting and enjoyable game, for the most part, though the BC is a tad frustrating with what it requires you to do.
I did like it a lot, but I would have been happier if it had just been a SE.
I have seen these devs do much better than this with their games and I wonder why this one is not quite up to standard.
Nevertheless, I had a good time with it.
I recommend this game!

The Angel of Death is back! I would be completely freaked out if people got murdered at the rate they do whenever Jessica is around.
But this is a wonderfully entertaining game. It's a HOPA, not a straight HOG like the first one, so it is right up my street as I cannot abide straight HOGs.
Take a stroll with Jessica Fletcher, through the lovely, seemingly tranquil and sleepy town of Cabot Cove. It's Autumn and the falling leaves are gold and copper. The streets are wide and sunny and the houses, shops and offices are quaint. The graphics are very good and the atmosphere warm and inviting. And then..................oh, no, look someone has been killed. So the fun begins. Sorry, that didn't come out right. The game begins, rather.
They could not have found a voice that sounds any more like Angela Lansbury than Angela Lansbury herself. Indeed, it took a while for my ear to adjust, before I began to pick up inflections and intonations, very slight, to where I was no longer in any doubt that it was not actually her. Well done.
There are 3 cases to solve, the 3rd takes her to Ireland. There are many many HOS, as well as puzzles to solve, not difficult nor too frequent, but fun. There are a host of characters to interact with. There is a lot of dialogue, naturally, but it is clickable. I enjoyed it so did not click through it. It is also integral to solving the crimes and I found it very intesting to follow. The music is good too. The hint button is very good at showing you where to go and fills quickly, as does the skip button, but I doubt many will feel the need for the latter.
I cannot remember if there is a map, because Cabot Cove is a very small and compact town, so I never got lost, thus never thought to look for a map. Apologies for that. I will be more vigilant in future.
It plays perfectly, without a hitch all the way through. It took me 6 hrs to finish and I really, really think it is a terrific way to pass an afternoon. Great value for money at the SE price and if you have a credit or pcc, well, nuff said.
Well done to these devs. Would love to see more from them, about Jess, or about anyone or anything else. They make very good games.
I recommend this game!
