I am sure that the Psycho Train game I had (please note the HAD) on my computer must be different than what anyone else saw. That can be the only explanation for the previous decent reviews. This game is so bad, I spent the last half of the demo with my mouth hanging open in speechless horror. There is no reason to the storyline - minimal as it is. The HOP are static, the mini-games are there, and the sound is confusing. And there is no map so there is more back and forth than you would imagine possible on the small play area available in each chapter/area of game play. You are a Mother traveling on a train with a young daughter who disappears in a terrible crash. Even though there is little of the train to keep going, it is still traveling and you are stuck traveling with it. Your daughter is gone and you walk back, forth, through, and over three cars to clean paint off mirror screws to take the mirror off a wall, repair a camera for the picture in it, and search through a purse conveniently left on the roof of a car among other chores that have little sense to them. You eventually get off the train and wander through a station devoid of life. There are bags left here and there on the floor, but they don't worry you. After all, there is a sign on the ticket agents booth that he'll be back in fifteen minutes. In the back ground is the unceasing sound of a train with occasional screams. You remain calm. Well, I didn't. I've ditched this turkey and will go replay the worse game I've ever bought - it will be a welcome upgrade! If you need to play on a train and look for your progeny, try "Runaway Express Mystery." It's starting to look better and better!

This game has a totally Asian Theme going - music to meditate to, artwork in two colors, and restful attitude. I'm looking for more. There are other mosaic style games out there - with bright colors, better music, and an actual storyline. (There is some need in those games to do the next puzzle to get to the next chapter or page of the book.) I guess this means I've been spoiled as I spent the Demo waiting for more than the red and grey color scheme and slow sleep-inducing music. I'd prefer to replay any of the series of World Mosaic games just for the story and color. Sorry, but I can only suggest you try both and see if you like one style more than the other.

This tale is slow, unattractive, and as far-fetched as any story could be. You show up at a mansion in response to a letter mailed many years ago and get "sent" to Africa by a native wizard to "fix" the curse started by your ancestor. Your friends all drove with you to the mansion and are now trapped inside - aren't you lucky! The HOS are very like photos - ones from a great distance with lots of the tiniest of details that are almost monochromatic. I have a huge monitor and several items were less than an eighth of an inch on the screen. There is much running back and forth - a map of sorts shows up well into the demo - too little, too late. Some of the mini-games were unusual, just not in a consistently good way. The music was monotonous, the ambient sounds were loud and sometimes quite annoying. Don't ask about the VOs. I won't miss this game from my collection. We can find better.

We have traveled back before the first Awakening game opened this series. Minotaurs are attacking a human settlement in retaliation for their belief that the humans are deliberately ruining their crops. You escape the attack and help an escaped minotaur to investigate what is really going on. And so this new bit of Awakening history begins. This is the sixth game in the Awakening series. I have all of the previous ones and have enjoyed them. So I'm vastly prejudiced in favor of this one. Even so, I did not find anything amazing or really unusual in this very enjoyable game. Please don't get me wrong. This is a good solid game, moving along at a reasonable pace, with beautiful artwork, interactive HOPs, good mini-games, and a storyline that pulls you along. It just isn't game of the year. But if you are looking for some place to cozy up for the first raw weekend of the winter, take the trip to Awakening and enjoy.

Once more you are rescuing your child/children. Once more the badies take them for obscure reasons. Once more a parent acts like a complete imbecile - and since I had to be that dolt, I'm looking for the intelligence I lost playing this game. You are a famous soprano with two musically gifted daughters who are performing in a concert at their music school. A fire breaks out and the adults save themselves while a strange masked man conducts the kids away from the fire. The fire department is MIA, so you put out the fire and set off in pursuit of the masked man and the child musicians, including your daughters. Along the way you stop to do a variety of tasks that demonstrate just how uninterested you are in getting them back. You spend time reviving the head mistress who soon locks you out of the building on a balcony. You run back and forth incessantly while the villain wanders the area and taunts you, leaving clues to the story line and leading you NEXT door, where he has cleverly "hidden" your two children, after loosing all the other kids. After seeing the girls through the front door of the house, you set out to change a tractor tire! This storyline is beyond bad. The game itself has some interesting puzzles, interactive and varied HOPs, some acting, and decent artwork. There are three levels of play. Darkness can be adjusted in the Options menu. Toward the end of the demo, night falls. I took a hint and escaped with some small semblance of my brain intact!

This is a fairy tale game and a reasonably good one at that. I enjoyed the CE version and feel the SE is a good value. The artwork is beautiful, the HOPs varied with some being interactive, assorted mini-games, and the storyline involving, with three levels of game-play. This game may lean a bit toward the beginner, but picking one of the other two levels of play will satisfy most gamers. Please try the demo and Enjoy!

As a vampire hunter you are on the trail of a vampire sailing on a paddle wheeler. You almost catch him in his coffin, but he gets away. The chase is on as you scour the boat for this dangerous creature. Be careful as you may not know as much as you think you do. Eipix has once again come up with a good storyline, enough details to draw us in, and good game play. The game has four levels of play, multilayered HOPs, good minigames, great artwork, and drama. The four game play levels include the custom setting. The HOPs go through various stages to completion. The mini-games do popup often, vary widely, and are just challenging enough without being tedious. The drama is created by the graphics for the vampire’s getaway – good job, Eipix - and the fine VOs. I like their technique of having the closeup of the actors in a small frame at the bottom of the screen. You really need to give this one a try – you won’t be disappointed!

A star at Moulin Rouge has been killed and, as is usually the case, the police are after the wrong person. You have been hired to find the true culprit. The artwork is nice, VOs reasonable, there are HOPs with a match three alternative, OK mini-games, an interactive map, and four levels of play. But the storyline is weak - I just wasn't hooked by any of it. I applaud the Devs desire to try for something besides missing children, fairies, and ghosts. This story needed more of a hook to make us want to purchase it. Added to that , the game play is slow - especially when you pull out your detective kit - another game killer. Sorry, this is an OK game, but I pass. I have plenty of OK games I can play. Please check it out yourself.

You are the psychic detective called in to help the hotel owners with their problem ghosts, only not all is as it seems. The first guest you meet in the drive is frightened. Her husband, when you let him out of his room, is just disgusted with the situation. I sort of agree with him. I have all the other Fear For Sale games and this is just not up to par. After finishing in half the allowed demo time, I am dissatisfied with the game. The artwork is good but rough around the edges; the sounds and VOs are fine. The HOPs varied among different types and have an alternate puzzle mode if you tire of the HOPs. The mini-games seemed temperamental and did not consistently function as designed. There were various collectibles and morphing objects in every scene, except the HOPs. The storyline, always of paramount importance to me, was muddled. It needed a bit more information to involve the player in wanting to find out more. As it is, I don't care - which, after all, is the point here. As a CE, I'm on the fence. As an SE, I'll wait and see. And I can't recommend what I won't buy. Try it for yourself and see.

Based on the Demo: This is a good solid game. It has good mini-games, including an intriguing one where you open gates to paint an object correctly. There are interactive HOPs, excellent artwork, good VOs although no animation during them, and a decent transporter map. I found the ambient sounds rather nice - they went a long way toward helping the story's atmosphere. The reasonably good story line tells about a princess under a fatal spell whom you have to save. You are the messenger who brought her the scroll that put her under the spell and the Queen bound your life to hers - save the princess to save yourself. While there is nothing amazing here, you should find it a solid SE game that will start the week off right. Enjoy!
