The implication in the BFG blurb is that this is an updated version of the 2017 Grim Tales game, Grim Tales: The White Lady.
The only thing "new" other than the hatchet job wreaked on Billy's father, Brandon, and Sara's mom, making them look like fugitives from Anna Gray's nightmares is the "new" drawing of the White Lady in the BFG blurb. She is less ghostly than originally.
Otherwise this is the 2017 game once you are in the past with Anna. And there is little to recommend this chapter in the popular Grim Tales series. The story is badly told and the details are just silly - two kids looking at a painting by flashlight don't notice the light, heat, and sound from a fire roaring right behind them?!? A little boy and girl in separate dorms are up and dressed in the middle of the night and no one sees or hears anything? Everything is under lock, amulet, and key and then the keys and amulets are under lock, amulet, and key!
Finishing the Demo in less than half the allotted time was a gift, although I doubt the devs would think so.
Please try the Demo as you may be more forgiving of a four year old rehash with no redeeming virtues.
I don't recommend this game.

Grace, a member of the Guardians, is back with her owl helper to save a group of worlds imperiled by a thoughtless, careless child. She will need to convince the inhabitants of each world that they need to give up their "twinkle" to restore the Star Goddess' heart. If Grace can accomplish her mission, the Star Goddess will restore the Sanctuary World, whose inhabitants are currently turned to stone! Fun times!
Good stuff: Nice artwork with a very well done palette and lots of imagination highlights an otherwise pedestrian game that is easily completed in spite of the story. There will be two collectible stars and a more-difficult-to-find butterfly in each scene, Grace's faithful mechanical owl helper, and assorted CE bling. There is a Match 3 alternative to the HOPs. Games can be played on 'easy' or 'hard' levels.
Bad stuff: As usual with the Reflections of Life series, you have to be up for the owl and patient with the story. No great effort will be expended in the completion of the game, but you will pass some time.
Bottom line: While not my cup of tea, you may enjoy Grace's adventures, so please try the Demo.

Stop me if you’ve heard this: A bad guy is bent on destroying earth. You must stop him with the aid of someone who rapidly falls victim to his wickedness.
Well, if the story isn’t new, perhaps the game will be fresh and interesting.
No.
Will I buy it anyway with the holiday BOGO sale, since I have so many credits available?
No.
I have lots of fresher, more interesting games, with better game play, artwork, and story lines, some years older than this poor little sacrifice to the marketplace.
Try the demo for some perspective after reading the reviews.
I don't recommend this game.

I hesitated mightily before playing this HE entry.
i had seen the bad reviews and I had so wanted to like it. So I started on the "new" Labyrinths of the World, planning on following up with this game.
Imagine my surprise when I got tired of the quicksand that was the LOTW to start this game and find that I suddenly had the SAME 3 items in my inventory that I had left behind on the LOTW game.
I almost bailed at that point, but slogged on through the Demo, running back and forth to the locations repeatedly. The End was a relief.
As others have left reviews stating they were swearing off Domini Games, even leaving BFG, I thought they were a bit extreme. I apologize for that thought. I am joining the movement.
This game is unworthy of the BFG I joined over ten years ago.
There is so little to recommend it that I hesitate to suggest you try the Demo.
I suppose you'll have to do so to decide for yourself if you wish to add this game to your collection, but I am sorry.
I don't recommend this game.

Does a slow-moving story make you crazy? Is the lack of logic that impels a character to send his sister into the water with the attacking mermaids, that which will make you scream? Perhaps it is the use of the same repetitive violin music that has been used in the games of a series for years that will finally push you over the edge.
Yeah, me too.
So I can tell you that the story holds a group of characters that have all broken their word, lied, or been under-handed.
I can tell you that the contrivance of a "magical" artifact that must be fed pearls - this time, other items in previous games - is the source of complaints that there is a lot of dialogue/reading.
I can tell you that the music - loudest during mini-games and HOGs - is the same as previous LL games and does NOT wear well with age.
And I can tell you that 4 collectibles in each scene is not enough to raise my dying enthusiasm.
Will I buy this game?
Not for money, but if I am sufficiently bored and desperate, I may take the CE free in a sale or get the SE with a coupon.
You will need to make your own decision. Please play the demo.
I don't recommend this game.

So a witch, dozing on the seat of her wagon in the middle of the day has a vision. The world will be destroyed. She awakens to see a raven and hears a voice instruct her to follow the bird. She does. She enters a nearby tower and her adventure takes off.
Good stuff: Lots of collectibles, morphing objects, and a generous supply of other CE bling along with the Bonus Chapter make this a CE worthy of consideration. The story is a mix of magic and sci-fi done in mostly neutral colors with those signature odd eye colors for the witches that were introduced in the first game in the series.
Bad stuff: I don't mind the many puzzles and HOPs that turn into more puzzles as much as I thought I would, but I do mind the massive logic fail once our witch is with others of her kind. There are three people in the group. She arranges for one to go else where, leaving the other two to watch as she snoops, pries, and generally makes herself conspicuous. The other two never twitch. I was now over the joy of all those collectibles and irritated by the stupid instead.
Bottom line: Once again the juvenile trumps the better portions of a game, leaving me wondering what to do. I did like the first game in the Legendary Tales series - check it out if you haven't seen it - but they used one character from that and dump us in a story that seems to be written as things came to the writers along the way.
Try the demo for yourself, please. And enjoy the holiday weekend!

So far we have a repetitive, non fairy-tale fairy tale, the same old couldn't-find-her-wand-if-it-was-glued-to-her-nose Fairy Godmother, and the same tasks that made players so sad in reviews of their last few games.

All I can say for sure is that we have proven no one is working at Domini Games.
After our "heroine" limps along, getting her new wand by jumping through the usual back and forth hurdles, we are on to chasing the criminal, with the usual pointless non-rushed chase.
I have been urging players to check out their older games for months now. I have found greater joy going back through my vast collection than anything put out in the last year or so!
Please play the demo.
I don't recommend this game.

Uncle kidnapped by presumed bad guys. You are the darling nephew that chases after him. Luckily, as usual, the villain waits for you to catch up. You manage to get uncle out of a cage in time to have a few hours left to live. Lucky you.
Good stuff: Usual standbys from a fork for nails to a pin for a lockpick, as well as an assortment of collectibles and other bling with the HOPs and mini-games as expected.
Bad stuff: Everything is done in darkness or semi-darkness to provide an excuse for the overwhelming use of dark blues and greens. The lack of logic is as normal as sewage. The less said, the better.
Bottom line: My ability to see where this is going, worries me. I am undecided as to whether I want to go there too.
Please play the demo.

I knew we were in trouble when the glitches started seconds into the demo. I gave up when the flash drive could not be extracted from the computer.
I have played hundreds of games and have never seen this level of careless disregard for the quality in game play.
Do not purchase this game unless you try the demo. Perhaps you will get farther and see more than I did - hopefully good stuff.

Another BTAW entry has landed with a "Thunk." It starts as many games have before it, with a group activity that ends in a portal to another dark adventure. This time Mom will be rescuing her three children from three different fantasy worlds, starting with another sojourn into Wonderland, the same dark deary Wonderland we have fought through before in BTAW.
Good stuff: Lots of familiar scenes you can explore again. There are collectibles and morphing objects in the CE bling.
Bad stuff: All of the game play seems geared to a grade school level, great to play with your small gamers, not so much fun for adults. There are things to do; they just don't qualify as mini-games or puzzles. They are more like busy work to take up time.

Bottom line: I was hoping for a special entry from Friendly Fox, not a retread of scenes from earlier games along with the already-done-repeatedly "let's get lost in our board game" story line. Surely when you have made up entire worlds, you could put something better together!
There can be no doubt at this point that the BTAW team is obsessed with Alice. I like Alice too, but a copy and paste effort to produce a new game is not where players want to go.
I've only played the demo and have clearly come away unimpressed. You need to play through for yourself to see what is here. Please do.
I don't recommend this game.
