I saw some reviews saying this game was really simple, but I enjoyed it. It's one of the reasons I enjoy the Mystery Case Files games. I don't have to think too hard, the scenes are clear, there's enough to keep me entertained, and it's not too short, but not too long, either. I enjoyed seeing the old characters from the previous games. I liked that there were multiple cases and that there was a timer. It gave it a little bit of urgency, though, after you've visited a scene once or twice, you remember what's there. There's a nice mix of scenes, though, so it's not too repetitive, though. The puzzles were just enough of a challenge without getting frustrated. I felt it was worth my money!
I recommend this game!

The storyline has been done many times before, so it's not exactly original, but running a restaurant seems to be very popular for the time management genre.
The gameplay is enjoyable. It's not too much of a challenge, so you can relax during the rounds, at least the rounds I played. I played 6 rounds.
The reason I stopped at 6 rounds was because it, oddly, froze as the screen was starting up on the sixth round. I had to close and come back in, but it did it again, so I just decided to stop playing and uninstall. I also had issues with the game not accepting the mouse clicks. A few times I would click on a customer or the food and realize I, apparently, didn't click them because I would still have food in my hand or would give the food to someone else. I also had an issue with the food disappearing. I would get two coffees, give them to one customer and they'd get both coffees, even though they would only want one.
The concept is interesting, if a bit boring. The music and graphics are bright and upbeat, but the gameplay is a bit annoying with the curser issue and the fact that the game froze trying to go into the sixth round.
I don't recommend this game.

So, I haven't reviewed a game in a long time, mostly because some of the games have been kind of lackluster. Fun, but not really enough to make me log in and review it. However, this game, I had to review it, mostly in hopes that they will make another one, lol.
So, the graphics are amazing. The voice acting and sounds were great. I was intrigued and engaged the entire time I played. I was a bit sad when it was over, so I'm glad I took that chance and had bought the CE, so I had the bonus chapter to play.
I LOVED the story line and I am a sucker for a good story. I liked how we had choices in the game and it actually affected the outcome. Not insanely unique, but not something you see in a lot of hidden object games. Not to mention, I was really hoping to get the best outcomes for my own story. The great thing about this is it lends to replayability. I just played it last night and I want to replay it, today, to see if I can get a better outcome. Whether you get the best outcomes or not, you kind of want to play again just to see what happens with the other choices you can make. Or, maybe, that's just me, lol.
Also, did anyone feel a similarity between this and the Saw movies?
I recommend this game!

This is similar to another game I used to play, so I enjoy these types of games. No, they aren't much different from each other in the series, but they are more for a kind of mindless challenge. I said "ok" to the storyline because, tbh, I skipped most of that because I'm not that interested in the story in this game. The graphics are good, not the absolute best, but they are clear and cute, for the most part. I feel it would be more fun if I liked the storyline, but it's not that big of a deal. It's a decent amount of puzzles for the game.
I recommend this game!

I've only recently come back to Big Fish games after a break. I thought this might be interesting like most diner dash type games. However, this one was too clunky to enjoy. You couldn't do tasks in a way where it would help you, such as picking up two items at a time (at least, it wasn't letting me), so you wasted a lot of time trying to make multiple items. Would upgrades have helped this? Maybe, but I only got to the third level before being annoyed at the gameplay, so I don't know if any upgrades would have helped. Then, the area where you serve the food; I was constantly clicking on the wrong person to deliver the food to, which was more time wasted. The character does go to the right person if you click them before they even get to the wrong person. It doesn't seem like you can stop an action. The delivery of new items was also kind of clunky; you order the item you need, then wait for it to be brought back, then you have to pay for it. Again, wasted time. This game is challenging, but not because there is actual challenge; it's challenging because it's not designed well. I definitely wouldn't buy it at the CE price, maybe if it was on a drastic sale or free, though.
I don't recommend this game.

I tried the demo on the CE, but didn't get the CE because they never seen very worth it, to me. I saw from the CE that this game would be pretty short, so yeah. Because I pretty much finished the first chapter in the demo, I was able to speed through it when I actually bought it and finished the entire game in about an hour. That's really short. I was hoping it would take me 2 hours, at least.
The storyline was pretty predictable. I saw another review say they didn't understand why the ghost popped up in the demo, but once I saw the ghost and remembered the title of the game, the whole story became very obvious. It was an enjoyable, if simple, storyline, but at the end, I assume I was supposed to feel happy or feel some emotion, but I didn't. I didn't feel like I got to know the characters enough. Of course, apparently there are a few games before this one and this is the first one I'm playing, so that's probably why.
The main good points about this were that the graphics and HO scenes weren't muddled and I could see without difficulty. The puzzles weren't too difficult; only one gave me a bit of trouble and I skipped it. Something that probably gets overlooked, but since I play quite a few HO games, something I appreciate is that when I've used or done everything in a scene or area, it closes up automatically, so I don't waste time going back into them trying to wonder if I finished everything there.
The main bad thing is that it is very short and I'm finding that with almost every game. I used to buy an HO game and it'd take me a while to get through it, but now they are all so short. I'd rather get this game on sale than spend full price on it. I swear, since Big Fish closed it's forums (still not sure why that happened because they were very helpful) and they got more into mobile games, which I swear will be the death of good, full games, the game quality has gone down.
I recommend this game!

I've been an avid player of these games because I like EAP. At first, the games in the series did try to stick to the story somewhat, but they barely do that, anymore. Besides that, the games have always had wonderful visuals, good music, and were interesting, which kept me playing, despite the storylines. However, buying this game, the CE at that, was highly disappointing. The game was incredibly short; I wasn't expecting it to end where it did and I sat there for a few minutes wondering if that was really it. I didn't bother with the bonus stuff because I shouldn't have to buy the CE to get a normal-length game. I'm just disappointed in where this series has gone. The game didn't even take me a full hour to play. I'll definitely think twice before buying another Dark Tales game.
I recommend this game!

I'm honestly confused at the rating this game got. I started yesterday evening, when I bought it, and played until I was practically nodding off, only to pick it back up the moment I had some free time. I'm disappointed that it didn't keep going. The game was much too short, in my opinion, but only because I liked it so much. It's possible the low rating could be because the CE could have more features, but to say this game was bad or something can't be the reason.
I loved how I went into the game and was reminded of all the MCF games I've played in the past. I enjoyed the mini games and the super puzzles, which made you have to think a bit about how to solve it. The morphing items are always nice and the timer made things interesting. The story was good, not great, and also kind of made up of some of the past stories, but it still worked. I'd have played 50 chapters if it had it. I liked the map and all the little commentary from the characters. The artwork and music was great, too. Since I've just come back from a break in BF games, this one has set the bar very high.
I recommend this game!

I haven't been playing on Big Fish as much as I used to because, there had been a drop in game quality, for me. I recently started to get back into playing and saw this in the newly released games. I liked decorating (though many games that try to be decorating games fall very short of what they could be), so thought I'd give it a try.
I was quickly greeted by the "host" of the game, who filled me in on what was going on. Not much in the way of a story, so I rated it poor because it's more a few lines of a story rather than an actual story line, which this game could have had and would have maybe made it more interesting. Such as you've been hired to decorate a house for an eccentric family and each family member has certain things for you to do or something, idk.
The game is pretty much multiple games in one, which is nice, but then it fails to be good at the main thing, which is the decorating. You, basically, play the games to get money to buy the items to decorate your house, so you do have to play quite a few of the "mini games", which I don't mind, but the games get VERY repetitive after a few rounds of each. Then, the decorating. It's not very exciting and choices are very limited. I guess I expected it to be more, seeing the rating it got, but maybe I'm just hard to please.
The only thing that really bothered me was that some of the items in the HOG scenes were a bit hard to figure out. However, that's what hints are for. Overall, it was an okay game, something I'd get on sale if you don't have credits saved up, like I do. And even though I have credits, this is not a game I'm going to spend them on. Maybe if it was more than just the living room. Seems like it might be a game series that will be released with different rooms and I'd just rather have all the rooms in the game.
I recommend this game!

I have played every Island Tribe available, so I went looking for a game that was similar; something I could play, but not think too much while playing it. The game is quite similar, which I enjoyed, but too often, it annoyed me the "perks" that I got, which often didn't seem to go with the level I was on, and the buildings could only be upgraded so much and it was always just 2, when you often needed quite a bit as you get up in levels. I literally couldn't get over two stars or one, on some. I got to a certain level and just got tired of playing the level quite a few times, trying to get one star. I kept getting so close, but I'd never gather quite enough to get the level done.
The game isn't very challenging, in the fact that it's basically point click things and wait, but it may be a challenge if you're worried about getting stars. Storyline isn't that great, either, just standard.
I don't recommend this game.
