First of all I play a lot of HOPA games and I found this one unique and different. It was not the same old stuff and had beautiful story line and graphics. I don't want to give too much away but there are some very unique puzzles that are new. I played on casual as I like to relax playing these games. Morphing objects give you extra hints. You don't really need to collect them. There is a jump map, journal, task list etc.
***The only thing I did not like is normally when you click on Bonus to play the Bonus chapter BEWARE it will erase your game***
***You need to access the bonus game through the painting room, they really should have made that clearer. Now I will have to replay the entire game to get to the bonus chapter. But I really enjoyed it so it is not a huge deal, but should have been stated clearer***

The initial reviews I read caused me to use a coupon to get this game and fill my card for the month. Boy am I glad I used a coupon because if I had actually paid for this game I would have been really unhappy.
Game story is poor and too predictable

What I do not understand is how this was rated a hidden object game???
It was more of a mash up of all sorts of games into 1.
I found it annoying and not what I like to play and was also way to short. Played the whole game in under 2 hours.

then annoying match 3 type games, i thought it was an option as either one but no, you are forced to play them and they stink, are boring and not challenging at all
then they added a card game element similar to tri-peaks solitaire. really didn't fit the game and

the graphics were pretty and colorful and nicely drawn so that is really what the star is for but a a game there is no concept, no storyline line, lame goals, too short, and no way up to a SE game. I would have expected a lot more than what it was. Should be shareware or freeware in my opinion, there just was not enough there to actually call it a game???
I could easily imagine a 5 year old playing this game without difficulty and complaining.

OK.. This review is way long overdue and I can't believe I waited so long to play this game. I had beta tested it and liked it and purchased it as a SE when it came out. But it is a truly different type of HOPA game. Your a detective and wake up not remembering what happened and you get goal oriented tasks that are written in your journal. What really intrigued me was that she a detective and when she gets to her room, she posts all her evidence on the wall of the room. It reminded me of Criminal Minds on TV when they display everything on the board to help them create a profile for their UNSUB, or like in Without a Trace the whiteboard they use as a timeline of events in hours. It took me a while to get to using this type of format since you have a journal and an evidence board. So basically you have the story, your notes, your tasks, and a map, along with the evidence board. Some of the mini games are new, that we haven't seen before and some are quite challenging, even for experienced players. I just happened to remember that I never played it when the sequel came out. Also, considering the changes that were made between the beta test and final product were considerable. They must have really taken into account what people said. The only negative comment I really have about the game is that yes you have a map, but it is not interactive where it time ports you to that location, but considering when it was released most games didn't even have maps then so even though the backtracking was a little tiresome after a while it didn't stop me from really enjoying the game. Actually, if I knew that it ended the way it did before I played it I would have definitely waited for the sequel to continue the story, yes most of it is wrapped up in the end, but it does leave you a little on a cliff hanger and you know that they plan on extending the series. That is my biggest pet peeve is to play a game and at the end get to be continued.... but to each their own. The game is long, well worth the money especially as an SE. I started it around 10am and played till 7pm took a break and came back at 10 and finished around 11:30. So there is plenty of content and things to explore and do. But I really loved playing it. Now I am looking forward to starting the sequel, but I know I won't be finishing that tonight, I'd be up all night, but I am a nite owl anyway. LOL I wonder if this will be a continuing series after the second. My current favorite collection is the Awakenings series and the Spirits of Mystery series, and I have a few others too, but this is a DEFINITE MUST HAVE game for everyone that likes a good challenging HOPA.
I recommend this game!

I read some of the other reviews and used a free coupon to get the game. I was surprised how much I actually liked it. It's not an extremely challenging game but, but I did need to us the blog to get the end of chapter 5.

collectible horseshoes, that you can use to buy stuff to decorate your office.. they are not easy to find and i didn't manage to find all of them. Assuming that there are enough horses in the game to get all the trophies in the office I count 125. I found 76. SPOILER::: they are in HO scenes too. The game was enough to keep me interested all day and was happy that the mini-games were not too hard, I managed not to skip any of them and only used 1 hint in the entire game on casual mode. Although the story of sleepy hollow is grim, this is not bloody. The horseman shows up in a bubble then a flash of lightning, then you see a body always face down with no head. But there is no blood spatter all over and all the gore. I would recommend it to people who like the theme or want to spend a relaxing day playing a game without constantly racking their brain and getting stuck. It is pretty straight forward but fun and I liked the different hos types. I may replay to see if I can get more horseshoes, I don't know I have a few more credits that are going to expire soon so I may check another game out first. Back when hidden object games were new on the market I play the game mill version of Sleepy Hollow and loved it, it was much longer and played that one several times to see how fast i could get through and my accuracy etc. I still play that one from time to time but I could see this becoming one that I would play over, the other ones that I like that I have played more than once are the Awakening's Series and and There were 2 or 3 where so girl when back in time to her past lives and spirit of mystery amber maiden was my favorite.

I bought the collectors edition of this game and it is based on a full review of the game, bonus chapter, & secret room. There are collectibles, I missed 1. There are achievements to earn. 3 modes of play. I usually play casual as I like to take my time. The game was interesting and there is a Little Bat to help you out named Louis, like you have the pocket dragon and Owl in the Awakenings series. It is from Elephant Games and they really made this one beautiful. The graphics are not too dark and the HOS are not overly cluttered. They were nice and relaxing to play. Most of the puzzles were average, although a few were really tough for me and I had to use the strategy guide for help. You go through different worlds all with beautiful scenery. The basic premise is that the Bone King summons the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse to rule over the kingdom. I thought this might have been a bloody and nightmarish adventure. However, secretly Death disobeys and falls in love and has a child and does all he can to protect her. So that is where your story starts, you free him from prison and then help him save his daughter. I can't say that I have really enjoyed a game this much in a long time. It was well worth the price as CE, the game took me over 6 hours on casual, plus another 3 for the bonus game and secret room. Like I said I don't rush. But it was well worth the money and such as sweet story that I did not expect. Don't be fooled by the apocalyptic nature of the story as its not graphic. Wonderful game, tons of fun, worth the money for the CE! Hands down 5 starts and would recommend it for anyone who like these games. Good job from Elephant Games. They are one of my favorite developers, too bad they ended the story fully, I would have loved a sequel to this one!

I am a big criminal minds fan and didnt try the trial version since I really like the tv show I thought it would be interesting. I am happy that I used a credit for this game and didnt spend my money on it. Poor graphics, no speaking from the characters, very poor quality. I played it through the first case, there are only 2 and 1/2 way thorough I really wanted to quit. I don't think that I will even attempt the second case. Out of all the games that are available, a really poor choice to offer, there are so many better ones out there. HOS were way easy and following the game was just plain stupid. Its another TV Show game gone bad, i had this experience when I played House MD, which was even worse. I would not recommend this game at all.
I don't recommend this game.

I played the first one and had to get this one. The graphics were amazing, the storyline incredible. Lots of different mini puzzles that were not the usual fare. Some very hard, others easy. Beautifully made. Well worth the price for the collectors edition and loved the bonus game play. One of my all time favorites and it took a long time to play which was nice, good value.
I recommend this game!

I played the first one and like it as it was a different type of HOG that was a nice change of pace from all the others out there. When the sequel was released I enjoyed it as well. For a not highly publicized game the graphic are excellent and the story line continues from the last game. Mini games aren't too challenging but enjoyable. Nice for a relaxing rainy day when you dont want to be overly stressed with too much challenge, but enough to keep you interested and going.
I recommend this game!

This isnt your typical hidden object game. You need to think a little differently to get through it but I loved the storyline and it was a relaxing change from all the others out there. Some of the mini games were tough but overall not that bad. It was a refreshing game to play and there isnt too much traveling back and forth between scenes. I really enjoyed and would recommend it players of all levels.
I recommend this game!

This was one of the first games that I had bought when I first joined Big Fish. However for some reason, I didn't play it until the sequel came out. Well, now that I have played it I can't wait to play the new one. This game was totally awesome!!! I loved the storyline, the graphics were excellent, loved the music. It was a bit of a challenge but not so hard that I got frustrated. The HO scenes were clear and not very small. I played the game through in a day and played the bonus content. It was well worth my time. I don't think I have enjoyed a game this much in a long time. It is one that I will replay and I would recommend it to everyone. There are 2 difficulty levels of play. Hints and sparkles if you choose. Good for both novice and expert players.
