As a sequel to Margrave: The Curse of the Severed Heart, this game does not disappoint. Good intro, fun fairy tale atmosphere where you have to enter a cyclops village with tons of little bits and pieces to pick up along the way in order to be able to play the mini games. This game is very rich in detail. Look everywhere, it's worth it. Good graphics and music, good voice over. The strategy guide is clear, the hint button recharges quickly in casual mode, I haven't tried the other modes. Mini games are good and not too hard, HOGs are fine. All in all a great game.
I recommend this game!

This game is one of the best I have ever played. Being set in London's Whitechapel, the atmosphere, the scenes, the characters, the graphics and sound quality are so good you actually feel like you really are walking down Victorian London streets.
The mini games are tough, the general gaming level is very high and requires a lot of note reading, as well as a lot of attention to the info given by each character. You, as Sherlock Holmes, have to identify and stop Jack the Ripper, the complexity of the murder inquiry as well as the clues that you need to find spread across a large area of the city which makes it very interesting.
The relationship and dialogues between Sherlock Holmes and Watson are priceless. Each character in the game is worth of interest. I especially liked strolling down Whitechapel in first person mode.
Be warned that this game contains graphic content and situations that may upset sensitive people.
It is not an easy game by any means, but well worth the effort.

Despite the terrific intro and top quality graphics I can only be disappointed with this game. The woman voice over is very irritating and having to constantly click through it makes it annoying. Her nodding all the time is irritating as well. The level of challenge and fun just isn't there compared to other games, the puzzles are somewhat easy, so are the HOG's. As previously stated, I did admire the top quality visual effects and movie-like intro, I also liked the way the character moves between the scenes, it very much resembles the large file adventure games.
I don't recommend this game.

This game was OK but overall quite boring after a while. Good music, good graphics, funny characters. 2 modes: timed and relaxed. Tutorial included. There isn't much to do aside from playing the same scenario over and over again, win points, buy new material or furniture, then start over.
Favorite Genre(s):Adventure, Hidden Object, Large File, Strategy
Based on the demo, this is a very entertaining game with excellent graphics, voice overs, good music, real actors. There is great attention to detail in every scene. I liked the overall atmosphere. 3 play modes: regular, hard, expert. The HO scenes are a little different as you get to interact and play mini puzzles aside from finding the actual objects. Good and detailed diary. Included strategy guide. Aside from the usual hint button you also get help from a crow provided you give him a rune.
The only slight negatives are that the mini games are extremely easy, and the game doesn't fully wide screen.

This is a fantastic game, exceptionally crisp graphics and wonderful sound quality, the game widescreens nicely. Story line is good, HOG are good without being too hard. Great scenery, great attention to detail. Good characters, good voice overs. I have enjoyed the demo and had to buy immediately.
I have played the demo for 30 minutes, found the game ok, decent graphics though not exceptional, cannot full screen, many HOG's to play, puzzles were fun. I liked the fact that there are awards. All in all an enjoyable game. Would probably buy the SE but not the CE.
I recommend this game!

The demo was so amazing this is a definite buy for me. Fun puzzles, good HOG's, interesting story line, ghosts, skeletons, ships, islands, skulls, everything you can expect from a good pirate adventure. The graphics and sound are so terrific this looks almost like a movie. Excellent intro and ending of the demo.
Rescue a young girl from the Penumbra Motel. Solve puzzles, unravel a long standing mystery of death and disappearances in this heart-pounding adventure game!
My review is based on the playing the demo. I found the game quite fun, puzzles were relatively easy, story line was fine though nothing new, no hidden object scenes which I missed. The graphics were good but not exceptional. I found the music too repetitive and the actors' voices were often out of sync with the video. All in all an enjoyable game though by far not the best from ERS.
