This is one of those rare games that has a great storyline that keeps your interest. I wanted to continue playing just to follow the storyline. I also enjoyed the graphics, mini-games, and H.O.S. The characters fit perfectly into the story and their voices fit the characters. I thought it was challenging, without being too hard.
I enjoy murder mysteries, they are my favorite genre of books to read but if you do not like them you may not enjoy this game.
What I really LOVED about this game though, was that the developers accomplished all this without ANY paranormal infiltration. I'm sure there are other creative ways to make games without resorting to ghosts, witchcraft, etc. as this game shows that it can be done and still get 5 star reviews from the leading key contributor reviewers!

My granddaughters and I played the demo and we loved it!! It was fun to explore the new areas and see if anything would jump out at us. My granddaughters jumped away from the computer a few times! It is fun playing with them.
We love the graphics in these games, they have really great artists! Some of the scenes were a little graphic but not too gruesome.
We enjoyed the mini-games but had to skip 2 of them because they were too hard for me to figure out. Darn. The rest of them were easy enough that my granddaughters were able to help play. The H.O.S. were entertaining and fun. My granddaughters were excited when they saw the sparkles show up.
We never used the map to jump around through the scenes because it was never very far to the next area to use something from the inventory. I remembered where most of the items go but my granddaughters are great at remembering every item. We didn't need to use the hint at all to figure out where to go next, it was very intuitive.
The voices seemed to match the characters well and the characters are definitely eccentric. We like the short guy that shows up in this series.
We enjoyed this game a lot and plan to purchase it to add to our collection.
I love ERS games. They are one of my favorite developers! I think they are doing a bang-up job at creating fun and interesting games to play!

Some people might be tired of the puppets but not me. I love this series! The storyline is original and interesting. After the trial expired I was left hanging as to what is going on!
I had a lot of fun playing this with my 4 year old granddaughter (who is extremely good at spotting things in the scenes, sometimes faster than me! And she is very good at helping me remember where we need to use inventory items we pick up)
We give this game 5 stars all around for the story, graphics, sound, fun, and the challenge level was perfect for me (too hard for my granddaughter but she still enjoyed helping me). The mini-games were fun and there were lots of them! The hidden object scenes were interesting and fun.
Like I said, this game is awesome. Keep them coming ERS!!! You are my favorite devs and I own almost every game you have made! I wish you would make more of the "Twilight Phenomena" series, those 3 games are GREAT adventure games without any H.O.s and a real hoot to play!

Finally, a game that has great graphics and a good storyline. It's usually one or the other but you get both with this game.
Let's start with the storyline. It was different from any other game I have played which made it very interesting. Thankfully, there weren't any ghosts floating about or spells to cast. There are enough games with those things in them IMHO.
The graphics are just unbelievable! I love playing a game with awesome graphics it just makes the game that much more fun to be able to look around and admire the scenery.
The mini-games were varied and medium difficulty. They fit in with the game nicely with appropriate themes. I had to consult the strategy guide a few times to help me solve some of the mini-games.
The bonus chapter actually took up where the main game left off which made it feel like it was part of the main game. It seemed rather long too.
There was a lot of traveling between scenes in this game and I did end up using the jump map often to avoid having to backtrack through all the scenes but it was still fun.
This was the first game I played in this series and I am looking forward to playing the rest of them.

The whole game seemed to be full of mini-games!! I love them so this was a huge plus for me. If you are not a fan then I would guess you would not like this game. The game designs were interwoven into the theme of the game thus making them all feel necessary to further the story along, not just a pit stop along the way. I thought most of the games started easy and then got progressively harder. I think I only had to skip one. They made me think, which I enjoy.
The graphics were very nice. The storyline was unique and not full of witches, demons or ghosts. That is such a welcome change!
I missed 7 of the collectibles throughout the game and was able to go back and find them in the bonus area. After I collected them all there was a puzzle to put together. That was actually quite fun. When the puzzle was finished then you can move on to the treasure hunt which is revisiting all the gorgeous scenes to find a specific hidden object. Some of them were easy to find, some were hard to spot, while others you had to move something to see it. Once you finished the treasure hunt then you could go back and play the defense game and the garden game.
Overall, the game was challenging and fun. A winning combination.

This game is loads of fun to play. It actually has a storyline that is interesting to follow. The story deviates from the original "Alice in Wonderland" so you are not sure where the story leads.
The graphics are amazing. I enjoyed exploring every new area savoring all the details of each scene. There were so many interactive things to do! Such as changing the color of the flowers or making dust fall. It was so much fun that I actually took my time going through the game, instead of rushing to the end! And this game is one of the longer ones out there. A very lengthy game. Then after I finally finished it I was actually happy there was a bonus game to play! Sometimes I am so tired of a game at that point I will move hastily through the bonus game. I will just click on the hint button repeatedly to go through it as fast as possible. Not with this game, I kept going at my leisurely pace. Even at that, I expected it to be short, as most bonus games are, but it is a very long bonus game!
The mini-games were all themed with the Queen of Hearts Alice in Wonderland theme. Very imaginative way to portray them. Most of them were not new games but they were still fun to play.
I tried hard to collect all of the cards and morphing objects going through the game but still ended up missing some so I was happy to discover that I could go back and find them without having to play the game all over again! I enjoyed looking at the cards up close to examine the detailed graphics portrayed on the face cards. I wish I had a deck of cards like these! After I found all of the missing morphing objects I got to play a hidden object game that had a very long list of objects to find! Being a mini-game fan I would have been happier with a game to play but it was still fun.
I enjoyed playing this game and it will go on the short list of games I own that I will play again!

I'm giving this 5 stars for the mini-games alone. They were challenging and fun. It took me awhile to beat some of them but worth the effort! The graphics were great, as usual for this game series. I wasn't all that thrilled with the storyline but it was ok. Like I said, the mini-games made up for it. I very much enjoyed the Souvenir Room which when added to the strategy guide made this worth the C.E. purchase for me. In the souvenir room you go back and revisit scenes to find the souvenirs. Some of them are cleverly hidden. Then you play a logic puzzle, which are my favorite! Revisiting the scenes was interesting for me because it took me 4 days to finish the game. So when the early game scenes popped up I was like, "Oh, yea! I remember this scene!" The main game was long, however, the bonus chapter was kind of short. It was interesting and the mini-games were mostly harder than they were in the main game. The game was a lot of fun and I'm very happy I bought it and played it all the way through.

I liked the intriguing storyline. Yes, we are saving someone's fiancé again but to me it was interesting. I played over an hour of the demo because I didn't want to stop long enough to buy it! I loved the HOS they were unique! The mini-games were fun. I love the puppets--I own all of the games in this series. I usually wait to review a game until I play the whole thing but with other people giving low reviews I wanted to go ahead and jump in the pond and add my opinion of the game. It's fantastic!! Thanks developers for another fun game for me to play!
I have played quite a few Nancy Drew games and I really enjoy the challenge and immersive feeling that I get from them. They are not like any other game I have played and that is a good thing! It is so much fun exploring the different areas to discover the secrets that people are hiding and the secret rooms! I love meeting and talking to the different characters. Some of them are a real hoot! But they all feel like they are real people.
For the first hour or so I was completely lost and had trouble finding my way around the B&B and I was wondering why I wanted to play this game. Then things just started making sense and the action started. It had been awhile since I played a Nancy Drew game and it took me some time to get back in the swing of things and how it works.
For people who have never played a Nancy Drew game--this is not a Hidden Object game. It is an adventure game/ large file game/ point and click game but not a hidden object game. There are no hand-holding techniques such as sparkles, maps, or hint buttons. You are on your own and you must explore the different areas to discover clues as to who the guilty party is and what is happening in the story. Read everything and keep asking questions.
Tips for people new to Nancy Drew games: 1) Talk to everyone and ask all the questions that pop up for your side of the conversation. Don't forget to talk to your phone buddies too. Then keep going back and talk to all of them again. 2) Explore EVERYTHING! If the magnifying glass turns red then there is something more to explore or sometimes use an object from your inventory. (You don't have an extensive inventory in this game and once you use an object you still keep it). 3)Take notes. Yes, you need paper and pencil or at the very least a smart phone with a camera to take pics of anything important that you might need later. 4) If you get stuck then call Bess and George and ask them for a clue about what you are supposed to do next. You will still need to use your brain to figure out the next step but they at least point you in the right direction. If you're still stuck go back and talk to everyone again or explore the areas again--you probably missed something. If you are still seriously stuck then go online and look for a walk-through that gives you directions on how to make it through the game. 5) One of the best parts about the Nancy Drew games is the ability to make mistakes--sometimes even fatal mistakes. The game is much more intense and immersive because of this. You are never sure if what you are about to do will be a good thing or a bad thing. After you try it you sometimes discover that it was indeed a bad thing and you get sent home before you finished your job or sometimes even die! But not to worry, there is a Second Chance button that starts you back at the scene before you made the mistake and gives you a chance to try something different that will hopefully give better results. 6) Save your game. Every hour or so and before you quit playing you need to go to the menu and select the Save Game Button. When you restart the game you need to select Load Game and find the name you gave your game from the list and it will take you immediately to the place that you left off in the game. 7) Relax and have fun. The characters you meet can be funny or serious but they all add to the enjoyment of the game.

This is not a Hidden Object Game. This is an adventure game and you are pretty much on your own to try and figure out where to go, how to get there, and what you need to do along the way.
You have been drugged and put in a jail cell. You wake up not knowing why you are in there. You have to explore the area to find a way out of the cell. There is no penalty for clicking things and that is good news because you are going to need to click on everything in sight to see if it opens up a new scene or might add something to your inventory.
Make sure to read every note that you find and jot down any pertinent information because you are probably going to need it somewhere. (There is no journal) Or you can backtrack and read it again when you discover where it is you need the information. But that is going to be tedious!
I love games like this where it is up to you to figure out things for yourself, like how to boil water and where it is you need to use that boiling water. And this game is more realistic than most in that the water doesn't stay hot forever. You actually have to use it somewhere quickly or it cools off and you have to go heat it up again! Such fun!
There is a hint button that I did use a couple of times just to make it further through the game before my trial time ran out. It is handy to have if you get seriously stuck but I suggest you try to figure it out for yourself first as it's so much more fun to do it on your own!
I love adventure games (sometimes referred to as point and click games or large file games) They don't paint arrows everywhere telling you exactly what you need to do next but there are sufficient clues to get there, you just have to pay attention to every detail as it could be important.
The storyline is intriguing and I want to know what is going on. I will definitely be buying this game so I can finish playing and find out!
