A definite purchase for me! Yes, it's super fast with no timer options and I have been playing games for years and consider myself to be quick, but I had to play a few of the "missions" over a couple of times to complete them. I enjoyed that and the challenge. And yes, you can skip a level after not being able to complete a level 3x (evil oil lamps! Grrrr!), you have the option or skipping the level using your emeralds that you receive as a bonus for completing each mission. I play a lot of games like this on my IPad and the objects are much smaller and harder to discern what exactly you are looking at so I find this much better. This isn't an easy hidden object game with a generous timer so it's best to keep replaying levels over if you didn't finish on time. There are "find the difference" levels which I am not quite that great at in any game (I tend to find 9 or 8 out of 10 before I really have to search in most games, give up and use a hint lol) but fared better with those types of levels in this game so I didn't find them that difficult and a clutter type level which is the easiest of all types of levels in this game.
If you enjoy a challenge, try it and see if you enjoy it but as I said, I had to play quite a few levels over but I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Based on the demo, I will be purchasing this game! I enjoyed searching for the collectibles, loved the artwork and the storyline is intriguing so it's a definite buy for me! Plus, the mini games are just perfect as they aren't too overly hard...I do enough thinking at work and don't want to be frustrated by a mini game at home! I don't understand the negative reviews about this game as the developers obviously put a lot of time and effort into it to create a story with lush detailed scenes, research, a sense of humour along with a bonus story and extras for a decent price. I love Duncan lol and the mumbling of the supposed "leprechaun" as he ran through the train station really cracked me up...I am easily amused and pretty sure my stomach makes that same noise when I am hungry. lol This is really a treat for the eyes and plenty 'o fun for me!
I was really looking forward to this game as it includes my 3 favorite characters and the first game in this series was so well done and fun but this game is very disappointing. It was ridiculously short and I am not a fast player and the story line had no depth. Although the graphics were amazing, I feel let down as these developers should know we want a decent story as well as a decent length of playtime for our hard earned money.
I love this developers games! The artwork is fantastic, storyline is great and their HOPs are always different and fun! No one should ever complain about a game being too long as most developers are making their games shorter and for the price I pay for these games, I want to be entertained and get my money's worth! Best thing is all the collectibles!! Thank you Domini Games!
Based on the demo, I rather enjoyed this game. I like the collectibles, the artwork and going along with the storyline to see where it takes me. The addition of the Ancient One has made this more interesting and I also enjoy helpers in games which add more fun to the story so I don't understand why so many people are down on them as well as super easy mini-games. I use my gray matter all day long at work that it's nice to relax and un-stress without a mini-game getting me frustrated at home. If the game is enjoyable, beautifully illustrated and of reasonable length (my only complaint is the length of gameplay of some of the games of late as we are paying good money for the Standard and CE's and deserve to be entertained!), then I am going to sit back and have fun! The developers put a lot of time and effort into creating games for our pleasure and not every game is going to hit the mark with everyone so try the demo and read the reviews before buying Fishies!
I love this developer with the beautiful artwork that I never get tired of and I love this series and Dupin but, this is the second time I have bought a game by them and I actually paid full price to be finished it in an hour!!! I'm not exactly a speedy player as I can only play here and there but this is very disappointing and I must read the reviews before buying from now on. I heavily rely on Penmom lol but didn't check this time around as I jumped since it was from the Dark Tales series and I was confident I was getting another great game in the series. All in all it was an interesting storyline and I loved the collectibles but to charge CE price on such a short game when one could have gone to a movie and spend more time enjoying the entertainment with snacks is not very encouraging to gamers who buy CEs based on the developers and storylines they have come to know and love.
I was so excited to see this game as it has my favorite characters from my 3 favorite games series!!! Game play is great with an intriguing storyline, fantastic artwork with plenty of collectibles as you get to play each character individually. I hope this becomes a series! Fantastic job Elephant!!! Wonder if James is single? lol Enjoy Fishies!
I love this developer but I was actually stunned when only after purchasing this game this morning and playing it in little intervals, that I had finished the game! I paid full price for this game, mind that I got another CE free but a lot of times I don't wait for the sales and pay full price if I am too excited to wait for a game and I feel, well...ripped off. After years on this site and buying tons of games, I am really going to wait and read all the reviews next time!!!
I love the Mystery Trackers series but I was actually stunned when the game finished as I thought I was just getting started in the story! I don't play very often so to pay the full price for such a short game is not my idea of money well spent. Also, there was no storyline with respect to the villain...who was the "Master"? How did he know where the children were, how did he capture or know about the hooded figures? A beautiful game and I love Elf but it seemed as it was thrown together without much thought and I will think twice about buying another game from these developers since this is the second time a Mystery Trackers was not up to par storywise and lengthwise.
I love the Chimeras series so far and this game really had me excited being set in Scotland and so visually beautiful but it seems to be the trend now for some reason to make these games shorter as I finished this game in two days and I don't play all that often. After it was finished, I was wondering "is that it?", so very disappointing as I like to enjoy my games and get my money's worth. Overall, it was interesting and fun with great interactive HO scenes, mini games that were not too hard and collectibles. I just wish it would have been a bit longer.
