This is a great adventure game, with a great story, well-done voice-overs, interesting HO scenes and other, more unusual mini-games, but there is one problem with it: The map feature is lousily done, so that it plays like an old-time adventure game, with lots of going back and forth.
Consider playing it anyway, because it really is fantastic. But you'll save yourself a lot of grief if you just use the hint button to navigate the school - you'll have to figure out what the next task is even when you've found where you're supposed to go. This is the only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars, by the way...

A fun and refreshing game along the old adventure game lines. A good story line about two rivaling magic schools and three girls getting in the middle of that. You play as one, then another of the girls, and have to solve problems creatively and without a lot of help. Not a fast-paced game, but wildly inventive. My only complaint - a bit too linear, and the ending came too abruptly and disappointed me.
I recommend this game!

Don't expect this to be another game like the Awakening series that is excellent. Rather, it compares closest with "Antique Road Trip: American Dreaming". But with a storyline! The nice thing about this game is that you get to rebuild the kingdom, and you make changes that are satisfying (unlike in the above-mentioned game). There are the same endless HO scenes, with pretty decor (but there are some objects that are quite fuzzy), and with the additional challenge that some areas can later be unlocked. The most interesting feature is the castle that needs to be rebuilt, and you can pretty much decide by yourself when you want to restore what. That's a big plus in my opinion. Now the negative - the energy you get to play the scenes is very very low - so after the first hour or so of game, you have to plan to be able to play for about 5 minutes in the morning, and the same in the evening, and your energy will be used up. I can imagine that this is going to get worse as the game goes on - at least if you're cheap like me and don't want to buy more energy. But sorry - this type of game is just not challenging enough to spend money on (IMO).
I recommend this game!

Very unique game - you're playing a detective, and you have to solve a series of task to advance the story. A good number of those can be solved without asking for hints, but it requires imagination and a quirky mind. Lots of fun!
Some scenes are on repeat mode, i.e. you have to do something while something else is happening. But what I liked about it is that you had time - you could try different things until you found out how to resolve the situation - no running out of time and having to start over and over again.
The story-line pulled me right in, too, and the graphics, while a bit old fashioned, are clear and beautiful.
An excellent game that I recommend highly, especially if you're bored by the same old game genres...

Most people seem to have trouble with bugs in this game. That's a pity, because the game-play is enjoyable, even if it's not challenging at all since you're just accomplishing assigned tasks. There's no real storyline either, just that list of tasks to do. Beware - the more characters you have, the more bugs you will have with this game. So try to keep them to a minimum and maybe you'll be able to get to the end of it without having to give up because nothing works anymore...

While you might be taken in, as I was, by the graphics during the demo, don't buy this game.
There is no story-line, the power-ups are almost useless, you can't buy anything with the coins you earn (they are used up by the power-ups, but since these are so random, they hardly help at all), and who thought that it would make sense to have to play more and more levels to be able to construct the last buildings?
The graphics would be cute, but the buildings of the city are far too small, and since there are no inhabitants moving around, no fish swimming through, and nothing happening at all, it gets more and more boring.
The levels themselves are quite difficult to solve, especially since the lousy power-ups hardly help (have I mentioned that already?), but most are so similar to one another that you have to take it on faith that you're not playing the same ones again and again.
This game is the best of the series until now. The voiceovers are excellent again, the storyline is convincing and full of surprises, and while the game is challenging, it's not impossible like some adventure games are. And call me strange, but I like the simple graphics... The only regret I have is that the game is still a bit short.
The storyline is fabulous and the game requires quite some ingenuity. The only complaints I have is that the voiceovers aren't quite as good as in the first game of the series, and that it is a pretty short game. But for everybody who loves something different, this is it!

Maybe older kids and very young teenagers can have fun with this game to get an introduction into adventure games. If you're older, forget it. The game doesn't require you to think at all, it boils down to a simple (though at times challenging) hidden object game. The voice-overs are annoying at best: I could so little tolerate the artificial excitement in the voices that I muted them. If you like hidden object games you might like this one. If you're into thinking and solving riddles, avoid it.

A totally different game, in the style of the eighties; where you play alternatively a medium or her spirit guide to solve the mystery of two ghosts disturbing their respective neighborhoods. You have to interview people, combine clues, use some creative thinking. There's no hint button, so sometimes, when you get stuck, you have to stop playing for a while and just continue thinking about the game until you figure out what you can try out next. Delightfully challenging without being too hard. The graphics aren't fantastic. But the voice-overs are awesome, and the story is very very good. If you like adventure games and you like thinking by yourself, then this is the game for you. (I'm going to buy and play the other ones of the series too, I liked this one so much).
