What a wonderful surprise this game was! I wasn't expecting much when I bought it, but wow am I glad I did! This was a great game in every way and can very easily be categorised among the best developers out there due to great sound, graphics, length and storyline. The game was veeeeery long, which totally surprised me, and the mystery in the story was very good and all characters fit perfectly into the story without giving out what really happened until at the end. The HOS are all interactive, there is plenty to do in every new scene (which are numerous), the puzzles were both very original as well as using some that we've encountered before but with totally new twists which make them more novel, and the hint charges really quickly. There is a great map that tells you of areas of interest and you can use it to jump from one scene to the next.
Overall, I was completely blown away by this game, especially as I didn't expect much from it. It is such a lengthy game that it is more like a CE version (including a lengthy bonus chapter) than a SE version. I really can't wait to see what this developer offers us next! :)
I wish I had the time to write a proper review, as this game truly deserves to be evaluated and praised on every level, but I couldn't skip saying something as people need to know what a great game this is.
The first Sacra Terra game was wonderful, so I was expecting this one to be just as good or better...AND I wasn't disappointed....It is fantastic in every way!
Music/audio: Brilliant audio and great music througout
Visuals: STUNNING!
Hint recharges very quickly.
Level of challenge is great as it really makes you think and rely on memory throughout. But you always have the option of using the map to go from one place to another. It is very easy to use and loads VERY quickly.
I do not agree that this game doesn't deserve to be a CE as you get the music scores, gorgeous wallpapers, Concept Art. and a VERY lengthy Bonus Chapter. On top of that there is a strategy guide that is very easy to use.
Puzzles were great because they were quite challenging, though some were very easy to solve.
IHOS are a lot of fun and challenges you throughout.
All in all, this game is absolutely brilliant. If you liked the first one, you'll love this one and I highly recommend buying the CE for the bonus chapter and strategy guide :)

This is only based on an hour's play, however, I felt compelled to write a short review as this game has completely taken my breath away! I absolutely love Elephant Games, and they never fail to deliver...however, this time around they've completely outdone themselves! The story is absolutely fascinating and a completely new concept, the graphics are (as always) stunning, the music and sound effects are brilliant, there is plenty to do in each new scene, it's very challenging without being frustrating, there are achievements as well as collectables...simply put, they know what works (for example, Surface: The Noise she Didn't Make, Unfinished Tales: Illicit Love) and have stuck to the blueprint. Thus, if you love other Elephant games, you'll be blown away by this one :)
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
I never ever thought I would say this about a MCF game, but here it goes....I am absolutely devastated over how bad this game is compared to the other ones. My all time favourite games are Escape from Ravenhearst, Return to Ravenhearst, Dire Grove and the 13th Skull and I have never before been disappointed with anything this developer does, so I expected something extraordinary from this game, or at the very least something very similar to the games I mentioned above.
The reviewers who have rated this game 1,2 and 3 stars before me pretty much said it all. I completely agree with all points, but one thing that I feel really needs to be said is how much I absolutely hate that they've taken all the mystery, adventure of searching for things and control over solving the case out of your hands. You are nothing but a puppet in this game, constantly told what to do, where to look and where to go so you have no control over how you wish to explore areas and things and solve the case. Taking away the control from the player (usually done these days by assigning him a lame sidekick that tells him exactly what do do), kind of defeats the purpose of actually making a hidden object mystery doesn't it? If this is the trend of the future in this genre, then I will sadly have to ignore these games in the future because I simply want a game with beautiful graphics, great storyline, lots of puzzles and HOs and where you can interact with various objects in the surroundings. On top of that I do not think it's too much to ask to allow the player to play the lead role in these games and therefore make it possible for the player to solve the mystery on his own without being constantly nagged about what to do and where to go....We are not puppets and do not play these games for that purpose!!
Bring back the format that you had in Return to Ravenhearst MCF team!! This latest development is a complete flop :(
I have to say that I absolutely loved this game. And what a surprise that was! This was one of those games that you buy 'cause it looks to be good, but then put it on hold for months on end as you don't expect much from it. Well, I finally played it as I didn't have much else to do, and WOW HOW WRONG WAS I!!! This is such a fantastic game and I honestly wish I had realised this sooner and played it when I bought it originally. Though it's nice to have stumbled on such a gem when least expecting it.
There are some very good points in this game and I'll just list a few that made this experience so great for me: * The HOS are so cleverly done that I was actually quite amazed. These are among the best HOS I have ever seen in a game before. Not purely for the fact that the graphics are so well done, but for the fact that they really challenge you without frustrating you. And there are HOS scenes in almost every new scene, not too many and not too few, so if you are among those that doesn't like the game to be purely HOS you'll love this one. * The puzzles are very clever (though some are maybe a bit on the easy side). There are multiple puzzles throughout the game and they are all different. There is such a variety of puzzles that that in itself is a great experience for puzzle lovers and they are very fun to solve. * The hint button recharges very quickly so if you get stuck you can use the hint as much as you want without there being any text telling you what to do (so you'll still have to think for yourself). * It makes you think for yourself and think ahead so there's an intellectual challenge to it and a need to memorise scenes and objects as you go back and forth. * There are so many beautiful scenes in this game that I was quite amazed. There's a lot of variety in the scenes and such a variety of interaction with objects and other things in the background.
All in all this game has multiple different scenes with a whole lot of interaction, beautiful graphics, great HOS, clever puzzles, great music and a fun storyline.
I do hope you HO fans out there give this one a chance as I think it's one of those games that are very underestimated and tend to be ignored.
This is a fantastic game and I highly recommend it!
I recommend this game!

Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart Collector's Edition
Dive into an epic journey as a museum owner in pursuit of an undead pirate who has kidnapped your daughter in Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart!
This game has got it all, it's truly fantastic. The graphics are very beautiful and you move around the different areas of the ship and island so smoothly that it feels like you're actually there. The story was wonderful, so very detailed and really does make you feel for the characters. Sound/music was very good, and quite scary and appropriate to each scene. And the voiceovers for each character was perfectly done, with no glitches or the sound being too fast or too slow. It really felt like these were the true characters and not some bad actors trying to sound convincing ;) There are plenty of hidden object scenes for those you enjoy those and also plenty of tasks you have to perform/solve throughout the game.
All in all this game is just plain wonderful, a great adventure and a great hidden object game!
Rescue a young girl from the Penumbra Motel. Solve puzzles, unravel a long standing mystery of death and disappearances in this heart-pounding adventure game!
Wow, this game was absolutely fantastic! Though it's been classed as a hidden object game, it's really more of an adverture/seek and find game as there are no HO scenes in it. However, that didn't take anything away from it as the story, the amazing graphics, spooky atmosphere and scary audio couldn't have been better. This game is sort of a mix of Shiver and Phantasmat, with all the scary details and fabulous storyline, but without the HO scenes. If you liked either the Shiver games or Phantasmat, you'll love this one! However, there is one tiny fault I have to mention as I'm sure people are expecting a lot of extra gameplay from the CE: The only con I can mention from the game is that the bonus chapter was very short and abrupt in ending. Doesn't really give you any extra info, so if you feel like you don't want to spent that little bit extra for the CE you won't miss much by waiting for the SE. BUT, and there a big but as I don't want to put you guys off, the game itself (without the bonus chapter) is very detailed and very long, so even without the bonus chapter you are getting an amazing game that will keep you busy for quite a while.
I can't tell you how happy I was when I saw this game had been released. I absolutely love the Dark Dimensions games and cannot wait for the next one. The graphics, storyline, and sound are all brilliantly executed and the game itself is quite lengthy with a good bonus chapter.
Fans of hidden object games should definitely not miss this one!
Very solid, lengthy and challenging HOG game! It's got the spooky atmosphere many of us love so much, but the story is very different from the typical haunted manor :) I would recommend this game to everyone who's a big fan of challenging HOG games (at least for me, I do not regret buying the CE as it exceeded my expectations and then some).
This game is brilliant! The story is really good, the graphics brilliant and it's also got some rather creepy parts thrown in the mix hehe :) Would have only given the game a 4,5 stars had it not been for the bonus play in the CE. The bonus play is a lot longer and a lot more a part of the story (especially the ending) than I've seen in a CE so far. And there you get to play 2 separate chapters of extended play (one as yourself and then another as the villain) to see what happens next. Definitely recommend this game for everyone who loves dark, creepy HOGs :)
