After playing every single hidden object/adventure game out there for 15 years, this is still by far one of the best game there has ever been. Even 7 years later. If you haven't played this game yet, don't hesitate. The graphics, and storyline are phenomenal.
I recommend this game!

I do not understand how the new developers cannot understand what it was about the Mystery Case Files games that made them so great. This is yet another failed attempt at making a proper game, and I honestly was so disappointed that I stopped playing it before I finished it.
The core of this game series is the horror, the psychological thriller, the terrifying villains (and I mean TERRIFYING), the many layers of the story, and the feeling that you truly are on a quest to vanquish evil. NONE of these things apply to this game, nor the one before. There is no creativity and a 6 year old could have played this without being freaked out.
This game is supposed to give you chills from the terror you are facing, and that atmosphere is completely lacking in this story throughout. I mean honestly, a dead guy (just some random guy) killing people?! No depth at all, and not a worthy villain or case to work on.
I am so disappointed. I think I've given up on these games ever being as good as they used to be.
I don't recommend this game.
Can you stop the townspeople from mysteriously aging?

This is my all-time favourite game series, and therefore having this game be a part of that is devastating. What a horrible addition to the series. The storyline is just awful, and I couldn't even finish the game.
I don't recommend this game.

There is very little I can add to what has already been posted in other reviews. This game is simply fantastic. I haven't been this impressed by a game in a very long time and I was devastated when it ended as these treasures don't come along very often.
If you like these kind of games, you will definitely not be disappointed with this one....It is a definite contender for game of the year :)

It's strange that I've just finished reviewing another game from the same developer and that one only received 1 star from me, whereas this one gets 5 stars. Such contrasting reviews shouldn't be possible, but there you go.
People have already covered every aspect of the the audio, voiceovers, visuals, game-play, etc. so I won't go into that again. However, I just felt like I needed to rate this game as I think it truly deserves 5 stars. It was in my opinion among ERS's top 10 games, and truly surprised me considering its mixed reviews. It was long, challenging, interesting, and definitely CE worthy. I only have one minor complaint, and that is the same as a few others have commented on: Why would you have the game based in America when it's a well known fact that there is no ancient Viking culture there? Why not base the game in England then, as that would be a lot more accurate and make more sense to the player? Just a thought :)
Anyways, if ERS made all their games to the same standard as this game, they'd be almost faultless. So I truly hope they take the players' reviews to heart and keep this up.
This game is in my opinion ERS at it's best, and this is the reason we love them as much as we do :)

I really do not know what to say. I've loved the Puppetshow series since game one, and I would have never thought the developers could have completely torn apart, and reconstructed a rather perfect series to fit the skill level of a 4 year old...BUT they actually did!!!
Honestly ERS? Why would you do this? Set up the game-play as if we are simpleminded and lacking in any and every kind of logic? Bad enough is the fact that all the HO scenes give a clear picture of what we are supposed to find, but to actually do the same thing with every single item in every single scene of the game is just insulting to the players! And on top of this you've taken almost every action out of every scene aside from one, and this one actually showing you beforehand what you need to look for, so there's absolutely nothing to do and no challenge whatsoever!
Really, it felt like I was playing a 'live Strategy guide' and not a real game. And to call this a HOPA is very misleading as there is absolutely no adventure aspect to the game. It's hand-holding in the extreme, and I really am speechless that you would have changed a game-play for such a popular and fantastic series when there was absolutely no need for it.
A further insult is this: You have a popular brand (Puppetshow) that has numerous fans that absolutely love the series, and then you are releasing a totally new game series at roughly the same time, and it's apparent that everything great, challenging, fun, and exciting was put into the new series, whereas no effort was put into a product that already sells itself?!?! I would think there should be more pressure on you to do well in a product that is already popular than a product that is unknown? Why, why, why?!?

I'm sorry ERS. I love you guys, and love your games, and that is the reason I am so upset about this release: Your earlier games and your new release all show how great you can be, but for some reason you took it all away in this newest Puppetshow release. Why, I cannot fathom.

It's all been covered before in previous reviews, so do not feel the need to add anything. I just couldn't pass the opportunity to rate this game its well-deserved 5 stars as this game is simply outstanding in every sense of the word. If you are a fan of the series you will absolutely love this one as the developer takes it to a whole other level with an endless variety of puzzles, HOS, action, brilliant story, and characters, stunning graphics, and one of the best bonus chapters I have EVER played!
Truly, this game has spoiled me for anything else now as there simply isn't anything that can compare. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT!

The last time I was a bit freaked out by a game was probably when playing Ravenhearst 2 and 3, and then Shiver 1 and 2.....but THIS freaked out: NEVER! Wow, this whole game is like being a part of a really well made, and truly frightening horror film and the story line, graphics, sounds, puzzles, HOSs, and overall atmosphere are simply fantastic!
Most details of the game have already been listed in other reviews so I won't be listing those again here, but for me, this game was definitely CE worthy. It has various bonus content as well as collectibles, which is more than many other CEs out there.

This game is DEFINITELY NOT for the fainthearted and those who scare easily, because aside from the gameplay itself, which freaks you out so much at times that it makes you hesitate making a move from room to room LOL, the cut-scenes are "jump-out-of-your-seat-and-scream" types :) Having played pretty much every single HOPA game Big Fish has to offer I can tell you with almost 100% certainty that there isn't even one game on here that comes close to being as creepy as this one, so those who are not fans of scary games be warned, and those of you, who like myself, love these types of games, don't miss this one...it's one of a kind! You will not regret buying this one, it is simply brilliant! :)

First of all, I have to say that I cannot comprehend some of the bad reviews and comments that have been made about this game. The fact that most, if not all of these bad reviews are written after playing the demo, or only 20 mins or so, should make you all pause and consider why the ones who actually finished the game gave it top scores.
This game is simply spectacular. It's something new, quirky, and very creative in every sense. The game play gives you hours upon hours of fun, with lots of new and interesting puzzles which are very well explained (you can for example decide when you have read the info when you're ready to start by clicking a 'start' button).
The game has 7 chapters and a bonus chapter. There are brilliant collectibles and various achievements. The graphics are just so colourful and quirky, there are lots and lots of locations to explore, three game modes, and the game has some wonderful and humorous VOs. There are some IHOGs, but thankfully not too much of them, and they are relatively easy to do. Among the extras are some new interesting bonuses that I haven't seen before, as well as wallpapers and music.
Saying that this game is not worth a CE price is absurd in my opinion as it's apparent that a LOT of work has been put into making this game absolutely perfect, and the results speak for themselves...Absolutely fantastic! :)

I am absolutely flabbergasted over how horrible this game is!! How did this happen!? What happened to the developers?! Honestly, the first two Dark Dimensions games are among my all-time favourite games so I was expecting this one to be absolutely brilliant. However, ooof it's been a long time since I was this disappointment with a game. The storyline was seriously bad, the overall logic behind the things you are expected to do and how they fit together was seriously poor, but the fatal blow was the fact that I started this game at 9:30 pm London time, and have already finished it (2 and a half hours later!!). I would honestly ask for a refund if I could as this was such a waste of my money. Am just at a loss for words :(
I don't recommend this game.
