Lots of reviews have already been written detailing the game....so I will not repeat the specifics. I just had to comment on the overall quality (from a QE) as being the best I can recall in the 300+ games I've played. Characters are fantastic, story line even better and ending still better yet. Do not pass this one by if you care for HOG's at all. Some might say it's not challenging enough...but that's never a problem for me as I like the level of difficulty to vary from game to game....Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Mystery of Mortlake Mansion
Explore the dark halls of Mortlake Mansion and discover its secrets! Break the evil spells and become the owner of the mansion!
Fairly typical story line with a decent amount of 'attention to detail'. I absolutely loved the voice overs and cannot remember another game with the same quality (I chose male gender). The entire game is hand drawn but graphics are high quality....the mouths of the characters do not move when speaking, but it didn't matter here. I would have given 5 stars however the draw back in this game are the difficult HOS....too many pieces to find, all the same color, some very small and cleverly hidden. Well, it just plain tired me out and took away some of the fun. Too bad! Also, puzzles all on the easy side and some repeat but this was not a problem to me...I do not like difficult puzzles! Overall a very good game so I hope you will give it a try.
I guess I like a lot of variety in PC gaming because this was like a breath of fresh air....relaxing music relaxed me! I read all the reviews prior to writing this and I can see how different people are....but that's ok, that's why BFG has so many games and a new one everyday.
This game is simple, I'm not finished yet but I am really enjoying the story so I don't care how long it is, I am already satisfied.....however, if you likened this game to a movie, you might consider it a 'chick flick' for the characters and story line...but that is just my opinion and certainly ok with me. The nicest 'change' for me in this game is not have a list of items to find, I love HOG's but do get tired of finding tons of items in each game.
I might not purchase this type of game on a regular basis but like I said in my title....it is really good for something a little different. And for anyone who likes a good story in their game....you should really like this one! Enjoy.
This review is for those of you, like me, that just have to have a compelling story line to rate a game 5 stars....and this is it. I cannot think back to the last HOG where I played the game for more than 3 hours in one sitting....I've gotten a bit bored with hidden objects so while I'm playing one, I usually take a break after an hour or so to play a match three or solitaire game. Not this time, not this game. I was captivated from the beginning....fresh is a good way to describe it with bright flowery graphics, interesting characters and varied locations there was no time to get bored here! The game play was also very different, not the standard items list for hidden objects but just finding a variety of things in a variety of ways that you need to proceed. The mini games were very mini, very creative (mosiacs!) and on the easier side which is what I prefer since there were quite a lot of them total. I sure hope you enjoy 'Otherworld' as much as I did.
I recommend this game!

Spirit Seasons: Little Ghost Story
Explore the Blindhill Place manor and meet the ghost of Agatha, a young girl who is haunting the huge mansion!
ALERT: POSSIBLE SPOILER...but more like just a hint
I'm such a 'softy' when it comes to children and animals that one of my motto's in life is: 'there are no bad children, only bad behaviors....and this after teaching math to at-risk teens and tutoring younger kids. So I very much enjoyed this little ghost story, Agatha, the child was hard to figure out...was she a good kid or a little stinker? What about Jacob, was he telling the truth or 'did the butler do it?' Lots of questions to be answered by a guy unfortunate enough to have his car breakdown in front of the old place. But there is nothing really 'serious' about this game, the main character uses witty-sarcasm to deal with the inhabitants of the house and figure out the events of the past. Nothing difficult about the HOS or puzzles....but if you enjoy a good story that is told fairly well, you can't dislike this game too much...especially if you catch it on sale as I did.
I purchase a lot of games when BFG runs sales and always have at least 30 games I have not played yet....so I can choose exactly what I'm in the mood for and what I have found I like to do is rotate older and newer hidden object games.....then I play some solitare, match 3 or puzzles at the same time. Variety is the spice of life right? LuvBFG56
I really enjoyed playing this game and I am getting to the point where I am tiring of this genre in general. But this game was a pleasant surprise that held my interest throughout. I am drawn to really good 'stories' in HO games, especially when they involve children and a lot of characters interacting. I particularily like voice overs, even though they are difficult to 'pull-off' as realistic. Surface does fall short here...imo. The 'leader' is a bit younger than I thought he should have been and therefore his voice was too 'young'. But he actually improved at the end of the game! In fact, the entire game continued to get better and better and that was the real treat...no 'trick' like some of the demo's pull off in that they suck you into the game with an exciting first hour, only to drag out and disappoint when you purchase and play it through. This is a solid game, a good level of challenge and the story was 'fresh' enough to keep me very interested! So I hope you will give it a try and enjoy it as much as I did!
I recommend this game!

Murder Island: Secret of Tantalus
Welcome to a world of danger and suspense in Murder Island: Secret of Tantalus, a thrilling Hidden Object Adventure game!
I feel abolutely compelled to write a review of this game...in hopes of getting more people interested in playing it, because, IMO....it has the best 'story' of any game I've played in 2 years. PROS: Great actors, cut scenes, map with jump feature made it easy to get around the island. The HOS games were interactive and engaging in that you had to solve 'mini riddles'. Most of all the story has great twists and turns to keep you guessing. GOOD ENDING FOR A CHANGE!!! There is no worring about what got missed in the "CE" version. CONS: Grapics fade to blur in the distance in some scenes, taking away from the beauty of the island setting.
I HIGHLY recommend this game and will in all likelihood play it again and probably again.....
I was excited to buy and play this game and it started out well with the usual summons for a relative in trouble. Great graphics and I love old building with dungeons, etc...however, THE DEVELOPERS MUST LEARN TO USE HUMAN EMOTIONS IN THEIR STORIES....to make them more believable. I won't spoil here, but come on, the basic premise of the story was totally ignored throughout and in the end! Disappointing. One other source of irritation for me in this game was the interactive HO scenes, some required inventory items to be used....ok that's new, but two or three times you need to leave and come back...without an idea to do so??? Not as smooth a flow to this game as I would like....well I hope I like the game "9: The Dark Side" better as it is sitting in my 'to be played file'
I am two months shy of being with BFG for two years now. Gee, it has practically been a love fest for me. First, I discover computer games and second with a great company. I now have well over 100 games and I gobble up many during each sale {had 8 freebee's this month on punch card}....so needless to say I've been a very satisfied customer and am now a 'Key Contributor' which includes some beta testing before release.
I am not going to personally complain to customer service about getting stuck in this game. I am not going to uninstall and reinstall. I am just going to do this review and then let the issue go. But this is the worst game I have come across on this website. Very short, disconnected story, mostly HO scenes with a couple of easy puzzles. I got stuck in a room in which according to WT's and Forums I am supposed to have a hammer in my inventory.....I DO NOT!
What is strange is ..... I played the 1st installment of Haunted Hotel? It was ok enough for me to purchase the 2nd? What happened? From now on if I consider purchasing an older game, I will go to the forums to see what types of problems people are having, if any....before I buy.
BFG has been so kind and generous with me with any problems I have had....that I will just let this one go and be a lesson learned.
According to the forums many people got through this game just fine and liked it, so try it out for yourself and good luck.
This game is 'Stunningly Beautiful'. It is somewhat difficult to describe in that it is different from the usual HOG, but not just because you are finding fragmented piece...you are finding art. I would just put this game...as well as most other games by Blue Tea, in a class above regular hidden object games. I don't know how many hours I played this...could have been 7 or 8....I never keep up. But I took my time and enjoyed every minute of it. The theatrical setting in itself allowed the developers to be creative beyond measure....and they were. It was a great story as well with a twist at the end that took me by surprise...gee, that's a first! All I can say is that if you like FROG's and have the patience to put together many, many beautiful items and figure out where all of them go...yes, with backtracking...that you will love this game as much as I did. The hint system was very helpful as well.
