Entering bookworlds seemed fun to me, so I bought the game. But my oh my, was I wrong! It's only one bookstory you can see things from and the rest is a farfetched story about a librarian with an exceptional need of power. Not that making his evel doings undone is exciting. On the contrary. I've never played a duller game.It looks beautiful enough if you like brown tones, but you might as well watch paint dry.Yawn. Besides that the game is terribly short, not worth the CE prize at all. It gave me the idea that the developer lost interest and sold it as it was at that moment. It looked like they didn't check their work either before handing it over, because in one scene the villain disappears to another space, but when you return where he disappeared because you still have to pick up an item, he's standing there again, unclickable of course and doing nothing. A waste of money this game is, at least in my opinion.
I don't recommend this game.

A very nice HOPA from this developer. Based on the demo I think I'll like to find out the clues in this detective story. It's not too difficult, but the graphics are very nice and it's always fun to me when big tourist attractions like the Statue of Liberty are part of the story. Don't know if I'll buy the CE or the Standard game, but this game's a winner for me, that's for sure!

Seems you've listenend to the comments and made a game that's certainly worth buying! It's real fun to play, definitely not cookie-cutter. Even stronger, better put on your thinking cap to find out what to do next and where to find things. Really, I'm pleasantly surprised by this Halloween game. It makes me hopeful for the future that good HOPA games still will be made!
I recommend this game!

Based on the demo: At least it's a HOG with a storyline like we're used to. But it's a dull story that doesn't make you eager to know what will be next. Halloween to me should be fun and thrill together and this isn;t it.Sure, we can look for little gamepieces and collectibles but all together it's not enough to pay for a CE. Pity, I'd expected more of this series.
I don't recommend this game.

Being a Big City Adventures fan, really mis this series, I bought this game right away, hoping it was about a trip to Paris and seeing typical Parisien scenes and objects. Man, was I wrong. I stopped bothering trying to find all kinds of stuff having nothing to do with Pars at all, when the two woman went to the Sacre Coeur but never set a foot in it because of 'all the stairs' they had to climb! Can you believe it? A waste of my money, this game, really.
I don't recommend this game.

The game looks beautiful enough, but it's too simple. You can almost play it with your eyes closed. The storyline is ok but only too familiar. We've seen this kind of puppet tric so often. Aside from this but to me the most important: the absence of Richard with his typical comments and advices. Without him no buy as far as I'm concerned. Maybe this game is worth the standard price, but certainly not that of a CE.
I don't recommend this game.

O my, why do HO games nowadays all look so plastic? Like computer animated stuff? Where have the gorgeous graphics gone, especially from big developers like this one? And where's the challenge? I feel like a child that's led by the hand. Everything is explained to me and pointed out. I just have to follow. Which I might do if what is shown to me would be original and beautiful enough. Gave three stars for the effort. And I guess the HOG times are over...
I don't recommend this game.

Well, from the one review that was posted today it looked like a really great game, so i bought it. But it appeared to be not much different than the previous games in this series. It's even less special 'cause they've used storyparts and characters from the adventures before this one. What a disappointment.
Still, if you love this series, download the demo and see for yourself if this is got-to-have material.
I don't recommend this game.

Excellent game in this series! It has a relaxed mode, which I love, but there's still chalenge and lots to do! Fun characters, creepy enemies to defeat and nice, fitting music to work by and getting your supplies in order. This is the first New Yankee game I'm playing and I'm having a great time!
I recommend this game!

This is an addictive game, absolutely, but playing it on Normal Mode isn't easy. I had to use the Hint button more than I'd expected because it wasn't always clear where to go next. I liked the fights and I became better in it in time. But as for the soot bubble game, I had to play this one over too many times to succeed, which I hated. Just like some of the Match 3 games towards the end. So difficult to master that it wasn't fun anymore. Challenging is ok, but this game in Normal Mode is a bit too challenging at times.
I recommend this game!
